Sometimes there are 3rd party LEGO stores where you can find used parts and sets.

For me it's purist but I also look at other bricks and the like depending on if a piece I need isn't made. For example: there's a beautiful train that works on Lego track that's actually themed after the star rail from a game. It uses most parts Lego trains used but all the detailing is printed and uses pieces for some of the build that Lego just simply does not make or will ever make. Or 9v tracks. If Lego brought 9v back people would buy the lot but they won't for some reason. Heck I would IMMEDIATELY buy a Lego monorail if they ever actually brought it back from the grave. They are in a perfect place to do so (especially with how they price sets....) so there's no reason not to anymore.

Well, maybe this will sound like an add, but when I finish my last modular to my city, I will start a project "small shell city", where I will be building small modulars on 16x16 plates and compatable 16x16 road with train tracks, for small spaces

Sadly its not 9v track. I know this a budget video, but to me trains should always be powered in 9v to have them running 24/7 if you want.

Is it just me or is the last one complete garbage compared to previous ones? And in general - I think Lego city has degraded over the years. I had this green dumper truck and the harvester that came a little after that and they were epic! I can't see even a Technic model that good nowadays. I really wish my younger self hadn't decided to mix all parts together and lost them but... It is what it is

I don't understand why can't Lego make a sliding door similar to the one used on boxcars (e.g. in set 3677). If they could make a smaller transparent version of it, it would be completely ideal for passenger trains. It could also be used as an entrance to some modern buildings. These normal doors just look odd on a passenger train because most trains in real life have sliding doors but unfortunately there is no better alternative.

The red tram is so good I bought two. The only issue was the stickers I put on the red 2x4 bricks had to be replaced by red 1x4 so I could get a motor inside...but the stickers were on the wrong bricks and I cant get them off. So should you get the red tram?...It has proper wheels!!! so you obviously must have it or you will certainly die of a broken heart...you could collapse any minute! buy it now and save your life!!! And dont forget the Christmas tram, it is so cute you have to have two in your life. For me it was the wheels not being correct that made me reluctant to buy trams, stuff on rails has to move and those teeny wheels are not powered up ready, so I did not buy them, huge mistake!!. I only found out about that yellow tram a couple of weeks back from that Australian kid who loves trains n trams.
