Wolverine Trapping Alaska 2024 Episode 3
End of the season run to check and pull all of the traps before heading off overseas. I had a decent season other than having all my footers sprung and fur pulled by a couple of idiots.
Weather was colder than usual for that area with less snowfall than usual also. I'm looking forward to trapping a new area that I flew over a few times. I saw a fair amount of Wolverine and Marten sign along with a resident Wolf pack, so it should be fun to go set a new line in that area!

Starting the 23/24 Alaska trapping season off with mink, marten, ermine, and wolverine. I am filming a fairly raw landscape perspective of the day-to-day occurrences, and creatures I encounter on this vast trapline. According to the latest U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the Penalty for Violating and Trapping a Wolverine according to the endangered species act (ESA) in 2024 & 2025, has Criminal Penalties up to One Year in Prison & a fine of up to $50,000. Plus Civil Penalties of a fine of up to $25000.00 for knowingly violate, or Fine of up to $12000.00 USD!! I'm an Extremely avid Elk Hunter (Cervus elaphus), both Rocky Mountain and the largest bodied Coastal Elk in the World (Roosevelt Elk), strictly for meat!! I don't take life for selling Unlawfully (a Threatened species for pelt). I've Only once Trophy hunted in B.C., and dispatched a 65" Canada Moose (not Alaska Yukon Moose), because I was misdiagnosed as having Lymphoma, and had been given 6 months to live!! I don't kill anything but, Elk, Blacktail deer, Whitetail deer (2 subspecies in my state), and Mule Deer. I can bugle up Roosevelt Elk across the road from our home. We have Roosevelt Elk, and of course we have large Black Bear, but don't like eating Bear!!
Well we're mighty proud of you 😂 good lord could you possibly come off as more of a jerk he's not in the US he's in the UK!!! and natives do trap wolverines in Canada 😊 051captinron CB.CH.17 Washington state I've taken lots of big blacktails & Roosevelt big bulls so let's just be a little more respectful🙏😊 big guy
Would love to do what your doing!! Your blessed
I trapped when I was young and still love it ! But right now it’s December and I live in Hawaii on Kauai !!! I is the trapping but not the cold !
u still alive?
Who would have thought that mink like fish
Who the hell is wondering around out there stealing dead animals and traps
And all for a freakin fur coat in China. Hell of a Job you do
Loved your videos. I hope you keep it going.
this is despicable
Dispatch the liveable imams you are unethical. Go back to where you are from
I can’t believe people would steal like that out there
People dont realize how terrible walking down steep terrain can be. Gnarly video!!
Wolverine fur doesn't freeze when you breath on it. That is why Eskimos use it to line the outside of their parkas.
Why would anyone want kill a wolverine... is their Meat or Fur ?
Würde gerne mal einen Wolverin zum Präparat machen wollen wie dran kommen?
Why are you hunting/trapping wolverine? Are you going to eat the wolferine?
Because that is how we (as trappers) make our living. Oh... and we like to piss off you bleeding hearts.
Exactly, that's what assholes do. They piss of any other opinion and bluffing with the shit they do! Go find a job, the world don't need those sick good-for-nothings who only spoil nature. Those days are over!
An how much do u get paid in blood money 4 killing a Wolverine?
@@stevebarr5301 I think it’s around 250-300 blood monies right now
@@mtnmn6237 You cowardly rat obviously can't hunt like a real man. Trapping is for cowards!
You cruel pr-ck, come back in the morning when its done its thing.
Man that sucks those ass hats are taking your fur and traps. Be fun to catch them in the act or even on a game camera. I have people do that to us all the time here where I live and they also get our commercial crab pots. It’s a huge fine if they get caught
Just found your channel. From the UK, thanks!!
wolverine don't give a care
lol what person has balls enuff to ask for less cussing ? lol Karen’s that’s who ! Last I checked Alaska is an American 🇺🇸 state means we have freedom of speech lol . Go away !
Respect the animals you catch.
What music is that? Sounds great!
I live in Alaska as well. Whenever I find a trap I make sure I remove it and dispose of it so that it can never be used again. G'day mate.
And why is that? Most states it's illegal to tamper with legally set traps.
Down here in Montana, you should see what we do to those that we catch messing with our traps.
Hopefully ADFG sees this finds you and takes the max fine out of your account
Fucker. Hope you go to jail
Taking food out of the mouths of people trying to make a living during a season when work is harder to come by. Go back to the lower 48
Just found your channel and subscribed
Wolverines have to be one of the coolest animals out there. Do you trap possums back in newzealand ?✌️
You have a beautiful country and amazing wildlife i would love to live like this but scotland doesnt have anything like you have ❤❤
What snow machine are you using? I’m heading to Eagle this spring (or like village). Thanks.
Are you a Kiwi mate? Sounds like it. Good on you anyway taking on the North American wilderness. I hope you're successfull & keep safe. From an old kiwi Hunter.
Beautiful Wolverine at 3.00 👏. Good job. I really enjoyed watching your Alaskan trapping videos. Sorry about the losers who were interfering w your traps.
And at 7.30 too 👏.
Always wanted tolive in AK. But that was back in the 70s! Now it's too late to do so!
Is it too cold to use trail cameras to catch the trap thieves? Thanks for the videos.
I believe even if he used them they would have found and stole the cameras as well
Nice big black wolf. Lots of meat ther on that bull moose.
Your set brother your set. 👍nice mink.
you got to go further into bush, then you wont get mink, to close to lake your traps,
Absolutely gorgeous wolverine, congrats
I like it 👌 🇬🇧
😢
"...didn't have the decency to reset the trap" "...a beauty" The 'dead-zone' is not inclined to listen for, let alone hear Lifes' subtlties.
You know wolverines are a protected species right?
every species here in Alaska is protected in some way, hence why the trapping and hunting is fairly good
Wolverines are a fur bearing animal and can be legally trapped in Alaska and Canada. Be smarter... think before you speak.
Do the fur buyers complain about the snared fur? Has to be a ring, isn’t there? Loved seeing the success snaring wolverine. Snares are sure a lot cheaper than financing a thief’s trap line with four pound steel traps. People used to die for that stuff. Not that long ago. Congratulations on your catch.
No, snares generally don’t damage any fur. General etiquette goes a long way, people died for a lot less back in the day. Thanks dude
I used snares on spring open water beaver. They are SO easy to snare on the bank then. They would be waiting on the bank, usually sleeping if I came on them quietly. But it put a ring on the pelt so I had to quit doing that. I am told the guard hairs get brittle in the spring. Again, was fun to see snares working on wolverine, and nice to know you can do it without fur damage. Thank you.
I don’t know how Alaska trappers get away with sifting snow over their traps. In the lower 48, sifted snow makes a hard crust over the trap. It obviously works up there. Maybe just a lot colder.
you do have to be careful how you do it as you certainly do get a crust forming, I don't mind a crust with wolverine footer sets as I want them to really stack some weight on the pan before it goes off. Im no expert by any means but I think if I can make them wrestle with the bait while on their hind feet they break the crust and set the footer off also with a lot off weight and get a nice deep catch. hope this makes sense.let me know if you have any good ideas. thanx bud
@@AdventureHuntsWorldwide I’ve seen other Alaska videos where snow is sifted. And you guys know way more than me. It has failed for me, but for animals lighter and less committed to the set. I have successfully slid the trap in from the side without disturbing the surface snow. Have also done this under existing tracks in situations where I know they are going to step in their track rather than make a new one. But I need a fence line or something to hide my own sign. It works. Snow is tough for me. You are never without it. I got nothing but respect for you guys up there.
OK👍
I love your channel, it's raw and you do not cater to the woke - Thank God! Please keep the old ways and traditions going, they must not die. This country was built on trapping and the fur trade, and it propelled the new nations of Canada and the US to grow into the powerhouses that we are today. Again, thank you for keeping the great tradition of trapping going you big Kiwi!! 🇳🇿 🇺🇸
Can you use those mink's and weezzel's for Wolverine bait?
you can, I had an abundance of other bait so I didn't need to
How would he like that if did that to him..hunting exotic animals should be illegal.no respect for 😮 hole...
these are not exotics, we can legally hunt and trap here in Alaska
Cruel, destructive jerk!
Why your kill animals?
