With a 6V71 GM Detroit Diesel engine filmed in the mid-1980s at Glen Iris depot Melbourne. It’s a little blurry and shaky but it’s original footage. The video highlights engine sound, engine brake, dash, interior and cars from the era. Fords of Australia are way more stately than the North American versions.
One of my highlights of working with you guys was seeing this for the first time and being a passenger to Seymour in it.....
I have 1971 MCI-7 with 8/71 DD engine , amazing ride , absolutely beautiful and most important anything wrong i fix my self, no computer's and gadgets!
Nice ride through Jells Park, my fav spot when I lived in Glen Waverley. Now live Qld for last 20 years. The old luxo cars in the era ware nice..
Good looking car
A lot of happy memories lined up there
I’m taking an educated guess is this a 8 gear engine?
10 speed. he skipped a couple of gears.
@@franko69oh ok thanks
Name an Aussie kid born in the 80s who did not take a Denning to school camp or on an excursion
Wow 😮 didn't know these buses were still around
👍👍👍
Like being in a Time Warp , CLASSIC not PLASTIC
Ese TEPSA
Merv Hughes Gujarat does merged total buses rights reserved worldwide, Bus company Denning Den Air Mono.. Publiclilly..
Gorgeous!
Are these still in service there? Seems like I come across a lot of pics of these MC7s that look brand new from Australia. Here is the US they come in all kinds of conditions. Someone cut the front cap off mine to make it look more like a Modern tour bus.
Regardless if you use the clutch or not if you haven’t got the rev’s right it an’t going to change into gear is it.
FKn excellent video bro. I remember back in the day the old 671 Detroit diesel with 10 speed road ranger. FK yeah FKn screamers… 👍👍💪💪
😍😍😍
Crazy (US observation). Ive never seen a RH drive GM coach before! Didn’t know they existed. How neat!!!
Needs to be retrofitted with seatbelts.
Back in the day, this was the First coach I learnt to drive
Esos OMNIBUSES TEPSAS
That box isn't going to last long the way he's hamming it into gear...and why is he using the clutch? Rookie mistakes
Horseshit, tell me you know nothing about driving a truck correctly without telling me.🥱
sounds like a 671
8V71.
Then engine sounds like a Detroit.
Usas mucho el clouch para meter los cambios de la transmisión
Nice legs
You don’t need that clutch scooter!! BTW, your steering wheel is on the WRONG side.
Ya but you're using the clutch, I stopped doing that my first day driving.
Gonna wear out yer knee that way.
Who cares, i don't, Do you.
Who Uses a Clutch , If you Don't Know How To Flowt The Gears, " Shift Without Using The Clutch " Your A Rookie
Says a guy who couldn't spell his way out of a wet paper bag.... Thinking, clearly, is not your strong-suit.
Right hand drive?????
Australia.
☺️ "promo sm"
I went for a school trip in one of these with a 6V71 the manual arts teacher drove it from Gympie to Gladstone. It was a full deck and a half with rest room and trailer fully loaded up and it went like a rocket.
Love it . This and the Austral Tourmaster were the bees knees back in the day
First bus i drove at Greyhound june 1978 was the backbone of the fleet and the Detroit 318 sound
Son , fueron , y serán siempre los mejores buses que e podido ver y en la actualidad no hay punto de comparación con los buses actuales ya que estos buses fueron y serán siempre los mejores hasta hoy en día
When you skipped leg day but still wanna get that burn...
You can tell its a Detroit motor just by the gear changes a natural 8V71.
Yes and 8V71
Real truckers only use the clutch to get rolling.
Are you American ?
@@daneenmurf1043 nope
Americans know there is a pedal on the left. They just dont know what its for 🙄
Here we go . Real truckers crap
@@daneenmurf1043it's easier without the clutch.
First person I have seen use the clutch.
Rookie.
It’s how you should shift and it’s even recommended by every transmission manufacturer. It’s the proper way to shift. As long as you know what the hell your doing, obviously don’t beat on your rig, you can float gears (shifting without clutch) and youd be alright. There’s rigs with millions of miles out there all original. Driver treats it well and floats gears nicely never to mess up the transmission. I’ve been driving for almost a decade now and always floated gears as well. Let’s face it. Just about every trucker who shifts floats the gears. I just know though using clutch properly while shifting keeps the transmission 100%
A good operator can shift without the clutch.. a better one uses it.
@@kyleheppell2064 it’s easier to shift without the clutch… a professional knows how to properly shift transmissions with clutch using. Plus transmissions manufacturers obviously recommend clutch usage while shifting. You shift a car with the clutch as well. Just that in big trucks, you can float gears in a car I wouldn’t do it… you probably could do it if your very very good, I never did and never will.
Yes you are.@@bobblanchard9041
Back in the 70s, I drove a long nose Mack (RL-700L) with a similar drivetrain (8V71T/RTO910). It looks so weird seeing the right hand drive lol
They will never make any more like this legends
I can't wait to see the two of them together driving down the road.......
Gorgeous machine.
Yip, a real truck with a real driver👍 Lady trucker here, retired at 68 after 44 yrs on the U.K roads. Started driving back in ‘74 when most U.K. trucks had Cummins / Gardner / Rolls Royce engines and Fuller Road Ranger crash gearboxes. Trucks I enjoyed driving. When I retired I’d been driving boring Volvos Scanias Mercs etc, all with sleep inducing auto boxes and cruise control 😴. Wish I’d gone to Australia when I was young and tried out your road trains 💁♀️
Interesting 🤔 I thought the w925 was replaced by the w900 in the 1960s
Sounds like a 6-71
Nope... 8V71T. Take a look at his web page in the description.
Nope, wrong.
Good old 15 speed
Nope... 10 speed RoadRanger. Probably an RT910 or RTO910. Take a look at his web page in the description.
@@andrewking4885 Yep... good call. I should have remembered that. Back in the early 80s, I drove a Marmon COE with a 350 Cummins paired with a RR 10 over. Lower case "h" pattern.
@@andrewking4885 Andy, learn the difference between "your" , and "you're" ! Here's a hint . "you're" = "you are" .
Good old 10 speed.
What is this persistents to be backwards from most of the world ????
In what way? This isn't a modern coach but a historic restored vehicle.
