My favorite dark album covers are Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973), Iron Maiden Killers (1981) and Slayer Hell Awaits (1985).
@bigneiltoo i love that Sabbath album. It pops up on an other one of my videos.
Wow, I happen to be listening to Abraxas just today (playing my entire collection in chronological order which has taken 9 months so far).
@@bigneiltoo enjoy your quest.
I laughed quite a bit throughout this episode! Informative and funny. Awesome stuff!
Barbara Mandrell! Hahaha
I love that song. I’m glad that you mentioned it. I used to love singing that song!
Now can I be considered your biggest fan? :-)
@@donnalynn239no, no Don Don. That honor is all mine! 😊
You had it in 45 I bet.
@@lisamarie245 you got her there!!!
I have twice as many Patti Smith albums as you.
@@johnshaner747 you have her album Easter I bet.?
@jamiesvinylhideaway54 yes sir.
A lot of my one of's are Greatest Hits. All are on CD.
@@johnshaner747 yes, I have some of those too.
Thanks Jamie , keep up the good work ! Surprised you don’t own Rainbow Rising . It’s a classic ! I believe Jo Jo Gunne named themselves after the Chuck Berry song of the same name .
@@craigsandry6737 I need to look for that Rainbow album, and give it another listen. Thanks for the answer to the Jo Jo Gunne question.
Great to have you pair back mate . Missed your posts 😎👌🇦🇺
@@craigsandry6737 thanks, I will be doing a follow up. I need to dig out some more neglected albums.
Cold Blood on Rampart?
@@shonsaunders420 that one is on "San Francisco Records " I forgot to show the label.
Cold Blood Rules! Pure funk
@@greenalishi222 I forgot how good that record was, until I played it again recently.
That was a great show! So happy to have you both back!
Thank you very much. There will be more!
My top five vinyl tokens were (since I don't have them anymore, sadly): 1. Scheherazade and other stories - Renaissance. 2. It's a Beautiful Day. 3. Bridge of sighs - Robin Trower. 4. Blow by blow- Jeff Beck. 5. Rock n Roll Animal - Lou Reed. I should have bought more of each artist but never did for some reason.
@@brianmurray5055 same here for your #2 & 3. I have a "few" more of the other 3.
Just need some Brylcreem to get that high and tight crewcut look!

@@dustinmanning8755 that's great!
More early rock and roll! Joe Turner AND Ms. Ella Mae Morse on the r&r ignition switch.
@@malcolmlawrence8978 I need to get familiar with, and be on the lookout for Ella Mae Morse. Thanks
@@jamiesvinylhideaway54 I loved the video - not enough out there on early days. Ella Mae (40s-50s) was on the jazz-barrelhouse boogie end, but you can hear it - and she could belt it out! House of Blue Lights probably her most well known song.
Cannibal Corpse

SLADE.. I've been a Slade fan for over 50 years as well as a 70s group.. Slade was the most & best band of them all.. and will always be the best entertaining band and live band to ever enter a stage.. and nobody will ever better Noddys Powerful Voice Ever I have and always will absolutely luv em' 👌
I wish I had seen them live. Thanks for sharing your luv.
@@jamiesvinylhideaway54 You can still watch the next best thing live. Endorsed and loved by all four original members of Slade ruclips.net/video/TheD2I8INIw/видео.htmlsi=IJp68-GTWi-QODtS
I have the original issue of Moby Grape where Stevenson has his finger out before they airbrushed it out.
That's a good one. I have it too. With the poster. Thanks for watching.
Got some crackers there Jamie, Slade were my band. still are, but I loved the early 70's, great period.
slade were the best live band in england in the 70,s early 80,s , top top live band, sadly never to be repeated
I wish I had seen them when I might of had the chance. I was late to appreciate them. I've up for it in vinyl. Thanks for the memory.
An entertaining post thank you. Classic covers, but I have one question, why the paper sleeves?
Thanks for the compliment. I put poly lined paper sleeves on most of my records, to protect them.
I just picked up a few gimmick album covers myself including that Give Us a Wink. Others were Jethro Tull's Stand Up with the caricatures of the band that pop up when it is opened & Ambrosia's "Somewhere I've Never Traveled" with the fold out pyramid. ELO's Out of the Blue should also be mentioned with its UFO fold out
Sounds like you got some good ones. Thanks for mentioning.
HYPE stickers was the name your looking for Jamie . Cheers 😎👌
Right,, thanks. I'll know what to say next time.
Cannibal Corpse. Good to see somebody who appreciates classic vinyl.
Thanks for the compliment. I was vinyl, before vinyl was cool. 😆
@@jamiesvinylhideaway54 , you're welcome. My parents gave me their old vinyls when I was younger. Black Sabbath, KISS, Iron Butterfly, Ravi Shankar, Kansas and AC/DC, to name a few.
I have been collecting vinyl for about half a year now, of course I have Elvis Presley among them as well as Buddy Holly... but then suddenly I hear 80's music again and I buy a number of 80's records... and then I hear music again from the 70's and I will buy some of them again. but now that I saw this movie I decided to buy a lot of rock and roll vinyl first. because I always come back to this.
Thanks for watching and Thanks for your comment. I hope you watch some if my other videos. I'm not the biggest Elvis fan, but I did a video on him as well. Enjoy your records. .
@@jamiesvinylhideaway54 I saw the video about the Elvis records half an hour ago... I wouldn't sell anything if I were you ;) I hear you prefer the Elvis from the late 50s. and it was certainly very beautiful music. Great show as always. Love the new office in the great state of New York!
Never heard of Patti ! What a sound ! Great to see you my freind.
Happy holidays, Jamie!
My first time here. This reminds me so much of hanging with friends and playing old albums while trading music trivia tid-bits. 👍 Btw...The Lovin Spoonful had some trouble with their last (?) album. Only one of the original members left. It featured him and a girl running naked in front of some trees. It was re-issued with some air-brush work over the "naughty bits." 😎✌
Thanks for hanging out. Check out some of my other videos. I didn't know about that Loving Spoonful album. 👍
he is om youtube with his wife been interviewed about his cancer
should have played Slade's cover of the Janis Joplin song Move Over or Get Down and Get with It to show of Noddy's vocal range as I write this his wife has just announced that 77 year old ' Noddy is recovering from throat cancer
Yeah. I love those songs. I hope he gets well.
that's not Jim Lea it's Dave Hill lead guitarist
Yea. I realized that eventually, but there's no going back.
Paul Burlison was full of BS. He played on “Train Kept A Rollin” and many of the other R&R Trio songs, but Grady Martin (the great session guitarist) was brought in to “fix” what Burlison had recorded. The lead guitar you’re hearing is Grady, although Paul spent the rest of his life trying to convince people that it was him…and even made up that “loose tube” story.
Dave hill was loosing his hair
And he's still rocking. I often mention Slade on my videos. Thanks for commenting .
@@jamiesvinylhideaway54 And he needs to stop.
My oh my
The biggest and the best. SLADE. Out sold every other band. More number one singles more number one albums. Is this guy American. Best live band you would ever see.
It's too bad Slade wasn't bigger here in the states. They did have some success later, in the Midwest.
Great show!
Thanks again Brian. I will be in NY very soon!
Don’t forget to bring that Mama’s & Papa’s record to NY😍😍😍
Securely packed already.
Wheres you little helper/fish hook question supplier ???
She's at our new house in New York. I'll be up there permanently by Halloween.
Hi @alancawthorne It’s nice to be missed! When The Professor gets to NY we’ll be back in business 🥳😉
The US had bases in Taiwan during the Vietnam war. Taiwan was a place for R&R for soldiers. Still a lot of remnants here from that time. I know quite a few Taiwanese old timers who hung out with US servicemen and became rock musicians because of it.
These could be the records they played. 😉
That was fun. You two work well together. I had a picture disc single of Devo's "Beautiful World" that had a cartoon astronaut's face on it and the vinyl was die-cut in the shape of his head. Helmet and all. It was tricky as hell trying to see where to set the needle down to start it. And btw, Cream WAS initially referred to and billed as "The Cream." Very briefly. 🤘✌
Thanks for the compliment. We have fun doing it..
Ritchie valens was absolutely not from Texas!!
Opps. I was wrong
The name of Little Richard's Band was "The Upsetters"!
