Intermittent issues usually lead me to check the actual switches as they can go bad with age. If it is just on the driver side, you can also check the fuel door switch to see if it is working intermittently and causing your door. It to work. These vans have all of the switches and motors intertwined so it might take a little investigating with a multimeter to find your issue.

Not sure exactly what you mean. I replaced the cable and everything works great. It’s still one of our daily drivers and totes our kids around everywhere with no problems. This repair was about 6-8 months ago at this point.

Yeah, there is a lot to be said for understanding value. To be clear I didn't give it to them, but sold it at a very affordable price to try and help them out.

I think this J series does pretty well when taken care of, but I think that goes for many engines.

The connectors themselves are just different sized molex plugs, but they are specifically on the (and part of) the part that I swapped in this van which I have the exact part name in the description of the video.

Thanks for the encouragement. We are in a bit of a snow storm here in Virginia at the moment so it will take me a little bit to get to these parts to get something official for you. That being said, I use a Marine grade Optima Blue Top battery as my power source. I'll say it is way overkill, but it is just an extra 12v battery I keep in my shop. This gate pulls very little power so you can go with a small 12v battery and just run a battery tender on it every now and again and be fine. I then have some alligator style battery clamps that were part of a solar power setup I started with years ago and they just quickly clamp onto the terminals of the battery. Attached to that is a 12v power connector that actually plugs into the Yellow Cat light. I'll try to put together a little video about it once the snow melts in a few days.

Mine is actually in really good condition. The more I work on it and crawl around ti the more I'm surprised at what I found with this one. I've got another video on this truck coming out soon covering the things I've done so far as general maintenance based on the 250k miles.

I wish. This is just a hacked version of the main power wire that goes to the fuse boxes for the car and the alternator. It’s been replaced with a factory unit.

Yeah, my 07 had that issue where it would randomly beep as if a door was open. I had to just turn the auto-slide switch off while driving. I got to where so had to clean the contacts on the door and B-Pillar every 6 months to keep it working. Usually cleaning was a mixture of 2,000 grit sandpaper to get off any film and some brake clean on a rag.

Unfortunately, this was the “fix” and then it showed up to me three weeks later with “unknown issues” and a no-start since the main fuse blew

This is supposed to be connected directly to the battery as it feeds the main fuse and fuse boxes as well as the alternator connection. It was replaced with a factory cable.

Even if that was the case it would be horrible. Unfortunately, these are three wires that run the main fuse boxes and alternator for this 07 Honda Odyssey

Power and ground was just me connecting an extra 12v source to the two wires inside the motor to find out if it would move. There are two wires on every motor and with 12v on one side it will move one direction and if you flip the wires so 12v is on the other side it will move the motor the opposite direction.

Yep, good old RVA. There are a few different items to check depending on exactly what he “not even a budge” means. Often with age the cables die which then kills the motor that is in the back of the van. Also, the actual rollers that run along the back of the door and slide down the outside of the van will die. Finally, if the doors don’t open (at all) it’s usually related to the latches that are inside the door.

I'm stoked for sure. This is the first custom build I've done since 1996.

100% the Goose is still a great ride and will serve someone well, but this new Vega build is going to be bonkers and I can't wait to rip it around the track.
