    I am in the process of building a 10'x8' shed. I have an 11mm OSB pitched roof in Dublin that I'm looking to finish in Torched felt. Can I assume I need an underlay and the felt cap? where would you recommend I purchase them...I have seen a lot of SHIT caps (non-torched) around and refuse to put that muck on my roof.

      @@Brandon-no3vc 1st off . . You never walk on your just torched sheet. He’s on the wrong side of the role and should be using a cane to pull the roll not push from behind! ( a BIG no no!) He’s in tennis shoes! No red seal journeyman would torch without proper safety gear! No sleeves mean no hair on arms! He didn’t degranulate at his perimeter flashing . . . a huge no no in spec work!! Not putting enough heat on 3/4 of the roll though he does do a good job on his field seems. Like I said, this guy has some skill but needs to train under a real red seal journeyman to finish his training!!

    • @Brandon-no3vc
      @Brandon-no3vc 2 года назад

      @@martinjvillasenor773 what happens when you walk on it ? I see alot of ppl doing that even the ones who pull it with cane infront of roll once they get to the end the stand on it so they aren't walking backwards. Do you use a bar in the rolls for the seams or do you have someone rolling for you or do you roll yourself or do you just stand on it or what do you do

    • @martinjvillasenor773
      @martinjvillasenor773 2 года назад

      @@Brandon-no3vc when you walk on a just torched roll, the modified asphalt in that roll gets displaced from the pressure of someone’s body weight. Almost all manufacturers recommend you pull the roll, not push. Just because a lot of people here on utube do it improperly doe make it right! If you install any manufacturer inspected work, they will insist u don’t walk on freshly installed sheets until they have cooled off . . . depending on ambient temperatures of the day but usually around 5 to 10 minutes

    • @martinjvillasenor773
      @martinjvillasenor773 2 года назад

      @@Brandon-no3vc as u install a sheet of modified material, from experience you learn to position yourself from having to walk on your just torched material. As you approach a roof edge, you start a different roll in the direction away from the perimeter so you eliminate some fall potential. If u are working at a perimeter, you need a fall protection system to keep the installers safe.

      What happens if you cross bond mate

    • @shady.219
      @shady.219 4 года назад

      Several issues occure with cross bonding , you cause a build up that will be 4 high on a 2 layer system it will stick out like a sore thumb, you also have lap on top of lap on both underlay and cap sheet that creates a potential weak spot all the way through in lots of places , also all laps should run to the gutter or low point to high point it should not run parallel it causes raises areas obstructing water flow to the gutter
