Thanks for sharing , not sure about red sauce on the breakfast gotta be brown surely!! Looks like you’ve done well with weather ,it’s been a challenge in the midlands, all the best for the week ahead 👍🏻
Nah definitely red sauce. The weather has been ok, hard frosts but above freezing by 9:30am
I’m curious as Iv just got one of those powered reels, and have a custom. Are you happy with your decision to mount using the side door? Would you do it the same way next time? I’m waiting for a spell of decent weather and rubber paint my floor and I’m in 2 minds as to where to mount it. Cheers
Hi. I love the hose out the side door. But saying that when I replace the van I will be having it out the back. The only reason is that I have a lot of gutter equipment and I think this would fit better behind the bulk head at the side door. Then the back will be only for window cleaning. Hope this answers the question. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You must have the most awkward, pain in the ass round i have ever seen...most of your vids i wouldnt touch the houses you clean😢your bodys not going to thankyou in a few years mate.
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
Hey, great year you had! I’m trying to get stuck back in to RUclips after not doing anything for a couple of weeks 😂 Your videos are always good but I know what you mean how many times can you watch someone cleaning another window! I really like a mix of commentary about being self employed, the business side of things, marketing etc mixed with footage of cleaning. Hope you have as good a year or better this year! 🤩
Yes let’s hope we all do better this year. Thanks for the input on what to do on the channel and for consistently watching.
You told us how much you'd taken by lunxhtime but not at the end of the day. Find it all very interesting. Great vids.
Yeah sorry about that. Thanks for watching.
Found bni a waste of time for the money
Yes I have heard that before from other people. This group is a very small private one that is run by the property management company.
Your build up to hot water system and gutter vac generator would be interesting
Thanks
When you let costumers go do you tell them you’re not returning or just stop doing them ?
I always let them know by text. It’s the right thing to do.
Day in the life works. I don’t think anyone would get bored if you spread your work load in a cycle over a few months plus your gutter jobs. How do you decide what houses you film? Do you ask the customer if they are ok with you filming at their house?
I don’t ask them if it’s just going to be a small clip. If it’s a large job and I’m there for a while I will ask them.
Hi Matt, loving the videos please keep up the good work. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on the van itself? Is it up to the task when you've got a full tank onboard or does it feel a bit sluggish?
Thanks for the comment. The van is more than up to the job. It never has a problem with power even when it’s fully loaded up.
Thanks Matt like watching your videos.
🙏
Hi Matt, great video mate, keep up the good work 👍 mate, cheers Rick, Your Window Cleaner Lincoln.
Thank you 🙏
On average how many gutter clears do you get weekly?
This time of year maybe 2 or 3 a week. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@yourcleanerwindows6969 is gutter cleaning something you really push?
Not really. Everything job I get these days is from organic growth or people rebooking from the year before.
@@yourcleanerwindows6969 Were you getting more the 2 - 3 a week during summer/Autumn?
@chrisa4882 no but I still still at least 1 or 2 a month. During the summer it’s more soffit, fascia and gutter cleans.
Great video. Great to see the goings-on of. A regular day. Beats being in a factory that's for sure 😎
I couldn’t agree more. Hope you’re getting in ok.
Good video Matt 🙌🏻👌
Thank you. 🙏
Well done barry work fast and u will stay warm bazza🐩🍗
How big a tank do you have in the van? One thing to consider when using a step ladder is work from it straight on not side on as they are not stable sideways. Weather looks so much better where you are than here, not been working this week due to it being below -2C all week! Looks better next week so no real problem. Hope you are feeling all better now.
Thanks Ched. Yeah feeling better now. Weather has been cold but above 0 by 9:30 so have just been starting a little later. The tank in the van is 525L
Thanks, Love watching your 'day in the life of' stuff.
Thanks
A day in the life are always interesting and also just videos on the ups and downs of running a business Along the way, your videos are already good 👍🏻 It sounds like your progressing well so it sounds a wise move to keep things simple And not look at a second van etc I’ve let a couple of jobs go also, just customers i find hard a pain or jobs that I’m going out my way for / slow payers , it’s quite liberating ! All the best for 2025 ,roll on the better weather !
Thanks for the comment. I want to make the videos better than they are. Yeah it’s great when you let bad customer go.
A few videos of your rules etc ie how many cancelled jobs you allow, pets also, I found that when someone got a new dog things were OK for few months then its like kick it out in garden to shit everywhere, and nothing worse, customers not leaving gates open, do you charge for full house or just fronts etc, lots of things like that can make a good few videos
HNY, personally it’s the documentation of the journey that I like and enjoy 👏
Thanks for the comment.
With your turnover you could absolutely get a hot water system. Even if you were paying £100PM (which you wouldn't be), with 5 extra cleans a month its paid for, not to mention the quicker cleaning rate and that the monthly cost would be tax deductible so you would be paying it out in tax anyway....
Can you do a problematic video like Dogs barking all the time Fences/ Gates to climb when not left unlocked and customers demanding trad as 10% of my customers have to have it done trad 😔!!!
I would but I don’t ever get these problems. I never climb gates and don’t offer trad. Thanks for watching.
Happy New Year love the videos keep them coming thank you
Good luck for 2025 mate
Thank you.
Good luck for 2025 mate, look forward to seeing more videos!
Cheers mate. You too.
Day in the life is good. Hope you are all feeling better now. It's very rare to see a complete job, i.e. from pulling up to driving away. Hose management might be a good one, as no one ever talks about how they route their hose, i.e. do they go to furthest point first then pull hose back as they go, coil up pole hose to move front to back etc... Pricing jobs, I don't necessarily mean exact pricing more methodology not just house windows but commercials, gsf and gutter empty. Staying as 1 person probably best as VAT threshold makes the transition difficult. Hot water would be nice but not sure it actually pays for it's self. I do keep thinking of an electric one - 2kw immersion heater but external to tank.... Anyway have a prosperous and healthy 2025.
Thanks for your ideas. I will keep them in mind. Hope 2025 is good for you as well.
Enjoyed this video mate, great to hear your 2024 was successful! Happy New Year and here’s to a bright 2025 🥳
Thank you. Hope 2025 is good for you as well.
When you had your good months was that due to odd jobs or has your regular work picked up??? I'm 49 and very interested in the freedom of working for myself 👍
It was partly due to a large commercial gutter clear and some other one off jobs. My regular work has stayed pretty consistent all year.
Possibly your best video, we all like day in the life’s, but it’s the journey how it grows, how you add, how you compact work and drop off the trouble work etc. have a good 2025
What content would you like to see on the channel. Should I stick to what I’ve been doing or change it up?
Hey mate, this was a great video some weeks back that helped me decide on a Gardener Flocked sill brush. Finally had some equipment arrive last week and gave my own property a go. Couldn't believe how much harder it is than it looks! The question I have is do you find the TFR makes a big difference? I hadn't used any product on mine as I don't have the backpack yet. Just tap water and shoulder power! Really hoping the chemical makes a difference as I couldn't imagine doing this day in day out after the few hours I had with my own property 😂
Hi. Yeah the chemical makes a big difference in loosing the dirt and it also gives it a good shine. It’s always hard when you first start but your muscles get used to it. I think window and gutter cleaning is harder than people think.
@@yourcleanerwindows6969 Yeah the shoulders getting a workout now! Good to know it works! Have a great Christmas 🎄
💪👍
Theyre great commercials to have! How do you go about pricing them ?
I price them on an hourly rate
Seem like you got your head screwed on mate FairPlay you will do well
Thank you.
Surely you'd be better buying the camera as a business expense for before/after/quoting jobs and claim the money back and enjoy your tips yourself?
Yeah maybe hadn’t thought of that.
That’s nice well done a couple of years ago my first got a vacuum was the gutter sucker with a camera. I think I only paid about £650 for it then just before Covid now I’ve restarted up Window Cleaning gutter clearing. I actually do it by hand at the moment and I have been looking at what system to get Next.
Keep up the good work.
Awesome work mate, I started Sep 21 and have never looked back, such an amazing industry.
Thanks. You’re flying now aren’t you. How many vans you at now?
@@yourcleanerwindows6969 Thanks, we have 4 full time cleaners...but we have 6 vans ready for more growth in 2025.
Hello Yes, I enjoyed this video mate. Very useful.
Thanks for commenting
Hi, what would be the best brush and pole for starting out?
Hi. Don’t bother with any hybrid pole. They are too flexi and hard to control especially when you’re new. Spend a bit more and get carbon fibre. I would probably go with Gardiner SLX 22. 22 ft would mean you will be able to clean all 2 storey windows and some 3 storey but it won’t be too heavy for using all the time. Gardiner has the biggest range of attachments and brushes. You would get a brush with the pole so I would probably get an Ultimate 26cm medium soft as a starter.
@ Thank you, I’m going to have a look just now
@@yourcleanerwindows6969 What Brush Jets? (It's asking on the website)
@ have you watched my brush and pole video. You can see the different jet types. But basically you have the choice of pencil or fan jets.
Thank you merry Christmas and a Happy New year
And to you. 🎄
thank you that is a lot of help, Happy Xmas and New Year. Enjoy your time off
Glad it was helpful. Merry Christmas 🎄
Brilliant video matt, keep up the good work and a happy Xmas and New year to you and your family
Thank for the kind words. Have a good Christmas yourself.
It’s all about scale, mate. We’ll send out 400,000 leaflets in 2025 that will add £80,000 to our annual turnover. Hope you’re feeling better.
Yeah I know you send out a lot, but you want to add a van or two every year. I think we all try 1000 and say it doesn't work lol. Im not looking to grow like that and want to just replace lower priced jobs with higher so that my earning increase. Its a much slower pace and i've found that organic growth is much better. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
@ if you’re interested in running good Google Ads I can put you in touch with the guy I use mate…..this will help with better priced jobs
I might take you up on that next year.
Great video Matt good advice
Thanks 👍
Great info, what sort of images do you post? I have thought of posting a really dirty before and clean after but they are few and far between. Great video, thanks. Hope and your family have a great Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
I posted the same ones all the time. they were all before and afters of a dirty window, a gutter that needed clearing, dirty conservatory in the Facebook groups. I think I would post more videos in the Facebook groups now as they attract more interest and if I was going to post a photo I would use some like I use on the thumbnails with me actually cleaning.,
Great video Matt, hope you’re feeling much better soon!
Thanks Paul. Not feeling to bad now.
Looks great Rob, glad to hear you have done your best month , that’s a real achievement considering the time of year,I’m 42 I exercise regularly, I think we have plenty of years left in us at this game , I’m a bit more selective about the jobs I take these days , thanks for sharing 👊🏻💦
Yeah I’m more selective as well. If I don’t like the look of it then no amount of money will change my mind. I always end up earning more in the winter which is strange.
What brush you using ?
Xline DuPont 35cm with 11 hole internal rinse bar. Link in the description.
