Guy With Blue Glasses

Добавлен 21 янв 2016
I love DIY projects, either to improve my home or just for fun. I've already gone through quite a few without recording any of them, but I figured, why not share some future ones so that others can learn from my own learning. This RUclips channel will definitely be my learning experience. Some of the projects I have on the list currently (as of January 2016) are closet lights, salt-water aquarium, automatic garage door closer, wood-working workshop, replacing my basement stove and range hood area with a fridge/wine storage cabinet, under the bed motion-sensor LED strip lighting, above the fridge bookshelf, replacing toilets, sofa caddy, reworking the intercom system, tool chest, and a lot more that I'm sure I will think of, including gardening, solar and other outdoor projects.
Build: Solar Powered Pump to Water Flowers from Rain Barrels
To increase water pressure from the rain barrels, this solar-powered pump was put in place, to pump water from the totes to soaker hoses watering four zones of flowers. The system consists of a 12V, 20 watt solar panel, 12V SLA battery, charge controller, timer, switch and voltage meter, all housed in a small water-proof ammunition box.
NOTE: In the video, I incorrectly said 12 volt, 20 amp solar panel - should be 20 watt.
Parts I used (some of them might not be available anymore):

Cyclone Dust Collector Connected to Shop Vac - very simple build
Просмотров 51 тыс.7 лет назад
This is my build of a very simple version of the cyclone dust collector for my brand new RIDGID shop vac (see my unboxing here: ruclips.net/video/lToBSdoGuLM/видео.html). This version uses a bucket and lid from Home Depot and does not use a Thien Baffle. Using the lid for the suction inlet and outlet means no circular wooden cut is required. Using PVC/ABS threaded fittings means I did not need ...

A Look Inside an Ant Colony
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.8 лет назад
Here's a look inside an ant colony! In a previous video, I showed my repair of some rotted wood and removal of ants that were coming into the house. At that time, I also put a snake cam into the threshold under the patio doors where the ants were coming from. You can see in the video a very active colony. After spraying the inside of the colony, the ants appeared to have mostly died but that wa...

Alternative GoPro Camera and HeadStrap Mount for DIY Projects
I have the same hinges on my garage door. How do I remove the door temporarily without removing entire hinge?
Fill one tank, have them all joined with a mast at the spots, then they would all fill evenly like one big tank 😀
Yes, they are joined at the top and bottom, so they can be filled in series (if the bottom spigots are closed) or parallel (if the bottom spigots are open).
Nice. Found this exact one for $34 and the aftermarket orange detail hose for $35. It's in great to excellent shape. Love the blower attachment.
Hello good evening. Please help me with battery 🔋 of my Blu bold like us. Am Ronald from Uganda
Great job can you have two for two garage doors will they work each door by it self
is the a way to stop the noise? and this thing is to weak. can even close the door in my bathroom
Hi, i have this phone and i accidentally disabled the keyboard and suddenly it was locked. Is there any way to unlock it except reformat.
IBC tank molding machine making video ruclips.net/video/cfWAS4PoNew/видео.html
Nice job with collecting rain water but too bad you used so much precious wood to cover it all up. We need to save the water AND the trees :)
Maybe planting bushes or trees to hide them is an idea for the future!
Great points and ideas! Leaving the IBC totes bare would not have been taken well in this neighborhood, unfortunately, and I opted for the best option I had with the following criteria - fast, economical, esthetic and allowed for easy access and removal if needed.
Nonsense. Trees are a crop just like tomatoes. You plant enough to meet demand.
Need black paint tank or membrane back of fence to stop alge
Yes good idea. I eventually did cover them with a black cover.
5:50 all you have to do is use both sides of the pliers at the same time . It unscrews very easily
Hope that will work in Portugal w a sm card from there just for texts and calls
I just bought one to bring when I travel
Where did you get the pump?
Amazon. I don't believe they sell it anymore but I'm sure you can find something else. Here's what I got: ZJchao DC 12V 100PSI 4L/Min Diaphragm Water Self Priming Pump High Pressure for Caravan, Camper, Boats, Marine, Home Garden and Camping www.amazon.ca/dp/B00ESCI9MC/ref=cm_sw_r_u_apa_glt_i_VERM0YT2WB2Z6WKNCM5F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
BLU makes it so you can get inside and fix it yourself!!!! A cheap company is one that makes it impossible for us to work on, keep for a long time and upgrade ourselves. On my BLU Life XL, I am able to shut down G stuff I will never use. I am saving battery life and stopping unnecessary downloads of app upgrades. I praise BLU for helping us! Apple deliberately degrades the batter so you have to buy another on. Their switches break and they sent it was faulty from day one. BLU does NOT like on BLOATWARE!!!
Nice project, u don’t mind mentioning total cost?
The totes were used and about $100 for all three. The lumber was another $100 or so. The fittings took a long time to figure out but were under $100. But I also used a table saw and a miter saw. If you don't count tools, let's say about $300 since I'm sure I missed some miscellaneous materials like stain, adhesives, etc.
dude! almost 10 minutes of watching your drawings? leave that for the description haha
Too lazy to redraw and scan. Deal with it. Lol Fast forward, pause, rewind. It's a friggin video.
@@guywithblueglasses2235 haha I know but I didn’t want to miss something
Where did you get the IBC Totes? I live in Florida, does anyone know where I can get them for cheap?
Try Kijiji. I got mine from a company that used them to store a mild detergent. They were around $30 Canadian each. I only use these to store water for flowers and shrubs. Some companies sell food grade ones that you can clean and use to store drinking water. Good luck!
You might want to paint these tote dark colour to prevent algae growth
Any flex with the wheels at the ends? Thinking about cantilevered ends with the wheels closer to center.
The wheels do rotate but in hindsight I should have chosen bigger ones. As I store things in the lower compartments, the whole thing got quite heavy and harder to move. I don't move it too often so it hadn't been too bad for me. Having the wheels closer to the center is a good idea and will make maneuvering it easier. Good luck!
Came here for tips to build a mitre workbench, leaving knowing less than before arrived
Yes, sorry, a minimum level of intelligence is required.
And how are you going to get any presure out of totes at ground level? Your PSI will be 1/2 lb
I have a solar pump connected
Is there any way you can send me the blueprint design of the bench so I can make one
I did draw some plans but they were handdrawn and a mess. The idea was using whatever materials I had to make something that worked for me. The trick is to make the saw surface flush with the table top. The other trick is that the height of the table should come up to around your palm with your arms dropped straight down your side. This will make it easier for you to work on the surface, based on your height.
Is there any way that you can see me that diagram through my email or send it to me through my address please and thank you
Gravel would be a good idea to balance the weight on the tanks when filled..
That's a good suggestion. The two 2x6 planks have been ok so far.
Total waste of time! Do everyone a favor and delete this!
Wow, I feel sorry for your miserable existence.
Pretty complex vac system bro good job
Thank you!
Why not just use a self-closing hinge? This seems redundant.
I did think about a self-closing hinge, but the door I needed this on is not heavy so a self-closing hinge might be over-kill. Plus, cost was a factor.
@@guywithblueglasses2235 fix
Self close hinges are more expensive then this. I just installed this on a restroom door in basement and it’s not heavy so this works well plus it’s only $18 cheapest hinge at HD is $50
Very nice design, but i would add casters in the center to help with the overall weight.
Thank you. That's a great idea.
Thanks Much Appreciated. 💪💪💪
I was going to comment but I see you've sent a snarky reply to every negative comment. Sensitive much?
You're right. I don't need your comment. I don't make money from the video. It's there to share an idea with anyone who can overlook the rawish video.
@@guywithblueglasses2235 Dude grown a backbone and stop being so sensitive. Don't read and reply to comments if it upsets you so much. Your video wasn't the best, which alot aren't when you're inexperienced to filming. Constructive criticism isn't a character judgment.
So I'm not allowed to have some fun and reply? I love reading comments, positive or negative, and replying appropriately. I don't mind constructive criticism but don't just say it's bad and not give any suggestions.
@@guywithblueglasses2235 @Guy With Blue Glasses if your having fun by replying then the humor is clearly lost. Ill give you some constructive criticism: make some better fucking videos. Stop rambling the entire video about nothing, and edit these unbearably long shots of nothing. You have more dislikes than likes, so the majority agree that your video is shit. You'd be better off to stop whining in the comments and make some better content. You're defensive over a diarrhea video. Suck it up buttercup.
Wow so much hate over an innocent little video. Take your head out of your ass dude. I couldn't care less about likes or dislikes.

Better have used IBC with black inserts, this will prevent growth of algea inside the tank.
Good point
Ok I am building this for my garden uphill from my rain barrel. Did you upgrade the panels and or battery or do they work fine
They have worked well for the past 3 years running half an hour every day, watering 6 flower beds.
Could you list your parts and where you got them from? Thanks!

Covering up those concrete footings seems an odd thing to do. Why didn't you dig a hole and concrete in the upright? Stronger structure - and nothing to hide away with unnecessary joinery....
Just decorative. Those concrete blocks look ugly and don't appeal to my OCD. Haha. That area has pipes underneath so a permanent structure is not possible. That's why I made the structure as light as possible and all removable.

Nice table but most people don't have the space for an 8ft. table
Then build to a size that suits you, with whatever you have.
How can we remove the thumnails at the end? I can't see anyting... anoying!! I have to search another video because of those stupid thumnails !!!!!
This is pretty cool and exciting. Im considering ICB totes too. I just need to know where I can find one
Thank you. Check Kijiji.
You never showed how to pair up an existing garage door opener FOB to the new device.
Physically connected them with wiring.
I've been looking for a way to hide these! Thank you!
You're welcome!
I'm going to attach a recycled pallet wood fence to one side and stain the wood to hide them..
Aren’t you supposed to put that white plastic grommet on the plastic channel that’s attached to the door, i.e. to cover the screw hole, so that the bar doesn’t press into the hole?
Oh. No idea. Lol
No. The installer placed those grommets correctly.
No it comes with 3 white plastic covers. So it’s to cover the other holes
Gee don’t talk so much I can’t keep up
My bad. The pause button comes in handy. Haha
Nice setup... Do you know if those ibc's can be superposed instead of juxtaposed?
Thank you. The IBC cages are quite strong. I believe you can stack them full to two levels, but you might need to put a gap between them using wood, etc., if you want to hook up PVC/ABS piping to them.
