I don't know which appliance you are utilizing. Ideally a well designed appliance should help with your sleep. How severe was your apnea/ UARS on your sleep study? Consider a second sleep study with appliance in place. A vivio appliance is only a part of any treatment. I have been treating sleep apnea with oral appliance for over 40 years.

This is Dr Shapira. Balance issues were corrected with combination of Neurosucular correcting AND with the help of a Behavioral OPtometrist.

The injection is very straight forward and safe. It is imprtan to check for aspiration to make sure you are not in maxillary artery. Can also be done intra-orally. This route deos not go thru muscle so does not require CT guidance. Some doctors prefer to go through the masseter muscle. 2% Lidocaine for the first time but if successful can switch to marcaine (rare) No Steroid. A single injection will usually break the cycle.

No. They won't accomplish the same effects and may in factn be quite dangerous. Only use TENS on head FDA Approved for that purpose.

I usually utilize lidocaine. I typically teach patients to self-administer putting them in control of their own issues.. I would definitely go through with the block. Self-Administration and Suprazygomatic injection are the most effective approaches in my experience.
