Finalizing my move to New York. Packing up my life and said goodbyes to my parents in Virginia, and safely making it to my new rat filled apartment! had to finish up the move in the same day cause I had work the next day 😭

An update on job & room situation. To set the time-line a bit better, I went to NYC on June 23rd, stayed at the hostel from 23rd to July 3rd, and went back down on the 4th, and stayed home until the 7th to fully move to NYC!

I think you’re exactly right about big corps killing off small businesses. It’s something I’ve thought about a lot myself recently. I think people really need to get in the mindset of like yeah it might cost a little extra, but when you consider your money is going towards sustaining a family business versus into some CEO’s pocket. That works for me at least

nope! not anymore. a lot happened since but I wasn't able to upload everything that I've posted on TikTok because there was so much haha. Long story short i stopped working there becuase i got this opportunity when there was some things happening in the factory so I decided that it'd be better for me to take this if i wanna do something more meaningful!

ahaha yeah the rent here in nyc is absolutely insane.. my rent is probably the lowest 5% here. Average is around 3000 for 1 bed!

Call New York Child Resource Center. They are hiring and really need men. The pay is HORRIBLE but it's something. You'll be working with special needs kids. If you're interested
My recommendation would be food service. They hire on the spot and usually let you eat. If you can get five shifts a week, you'll be able to eat for five days a week and get paid. The closer you are to midtown, the easier it will be to get to work no matter where you commute from because ALL trains go through midtown. Instead of ordering food at delis, I would buy the target brand pasta and just boil some water. For $.99 you can get three meals if you have a stove in the shelter. Tomato sauce would be another dollar. You can find shared rooms on Airbnb that may be better than the shelter and they dont need proof of income, first and last, or anything like that. You get a discount if you book for more than 30 days.
