I prefer to use oil on my deck as it seeps into the wood and protects it. I make sure to use a tinted color with it as this will last longer than a natural oil. The beauty of oil is that on the future I won't need to strip it back to reply any other coats.

For me a whole cow at $4.05 for hanging weight and processing fee would still cost around $6 lb. Depending on size. I would be paying more than I do at the store. Getting some of the cuts pre done from the butcher store are $15-$20lb. Not affordable at all. It's like they don't want people to buy, the prices are nuts.

I count on at least one or two out of 10 being cockerels. I always keep at least one rooster per 12 laying hens in my flock, mostly for protection as I have predators and my chickens free range. If I get too many roosters and they don't get along I make chicken mole' or chicken and dumplings.

so i bought 6 leg horn "pulletts", and about 3 mos in i ended up with 2 roosters, i also have 6 rode island reds, and had 4 adult birds orginally hens but out of the 4 only getting 1 egg a day so feed her "friends", so my leg horn ( 1st bird ever), is a tiny hardy leg horn. i wanted more leg horns bc of her, i'm not "very experienced with chickens" she is tiny but she is the one now out of all of them giving me the only 1 egg a day!, iv'e had the adults 3 yrs now and they came to me knowing they were girls, of her friends being black and whites meat birds ( columbian crosses or something columbian). so i orgianlly got 6 rode island red "pulletts, all 6 are girls! 2 days later had gotten 6 leg horns was told "pulletts", but have two roosters, one morning early one started growing and was much larger then the others, so thats how i knew i had a rooaster, about a few days later the other one started crowing. i only have 14 girls and two males, the males are hudge like double to triple the size of the girls. they have not tried to mate with the little reds ( r.i.) but they are alwasy tryign to mate with the 4 in their flock that was their orginal "pullett group", i didn't know what i was going to do "still in this process", i figured maybe i'm suppose to have them for a reason, i am hoping the girls will put on more weight, and Bruce wants to mate with my orginal 4? i have one who is much gentler and nicer "Bruce" after the boss, and then i have "Arnold sweratzenager aka "Arnie", he is always trying and now he is getting mean. he is attacking Bruce and other birds i had to put him in "time out", since july 3rd and july 6th is how long ive had these birds, and he has needed time out 2x. but now he is also trying to mate with Bruce?, just tonight????????????? maybe bc he mounts the girls but doesn't finish? and bruce is big like him? idk also i was wondering if when you buy pulletts from a farm store "are they related", so are Burce and Arnie trying to mate with sisters as they were same chicken litter! i don't know how to "process a bird" i dont have a feather puller mahcine!, i wanted all females for eggs, but figured id keep the males to give me more chickens now that i have them! i don't have a feather pluker, im thinking keep bruce and let arnie go, but im not sure yet, as Arnie is normally not attacking and looks out for everyone he is just a major horn dog! also i lost 1 of the chicks only 3 weeks in, she got really sick i tried to do everything to bring her back around, i think she had that throat worm that makes them in the end sufficate to death it was horrible to watch and see as i didnt know what she had i thought she had like a chicken flu, and tried everything the internet said to do, she did try to come back to health but then went down hill really bad and very fast! so i burried her in the ground and had a little send off, she was burried with an aunt hill and a pink flower, and a tree root branch that will be her heavenly perch. i i have 15 total with 2 males, which i dont think is a good ratio especailly bc the little reds are very small, and i don't know if they will ever be able to breed with them.

I am researching safer alternatives and found your video. I think silicone is probably a no no though. Man, you'd think they'd ban all cookware that is releasing toxic elements into the environment. My current set is 5 years old. It's still going to exist somewhere... probably in a landfill and it will continue to leach into the soil, the groundwater... into living creatures. The cities should allow roosters and all the crowing. They are very useful to have. Dogs are noisier than roosters 🐓

Love my applesauce as the spread on top of toaster waffles. Sure for the purist you can make waffle batter like my mom did, but then again I'm an old widower who rarely cooked until I needed to add that skill set to pick up the slack or lack thereof.

At 5:45 minutes; I don't think it's strange. I've been to a vacant lot where people go to get free food that's delivered by a church and it is a great community service! The people are glad to see the ones who deliver the food every week and are so grateful. It's a place to see familiar faces and talk.

I no longer trust tractor supply for this reason. I bought 4 silver laced wyandotte pullets. 3 were roos. They had a bucket of sex links and one was obviously a roo lol. I just hatch my own now..apparently I need to lower my temp because the last batch was all roos 😂

At the farm where I work we have 6 Brahma chicks who are now around 11 weeks old and I'm also trying to figure out who's a hen and who's a rooster. You can look at both physical characteristics as well as behaviour for it. Of one I know she is 99% certainly a hen, because she barely has a comb and she also stops and slightly bends through her legs to poop. Roosters generally just drop it while walking as if they don't care. One is possibly a rooster, because he(?) is occasionally acting dominantly, like he's trying to play the boss over the others just standing across them like he's such a tough guy and pecking them. But it's still largely a mystery

I had just ended up with two roosters. After some birds I got it’s only really been over past two days I’ve noticed, but I only want eggs and I don’t want the rooster is going at the fact that there’s two of them in a small area. There’s a very high chance you’re gonna fight so I’ve had to separate them, and they are both leaving to go to different firms personally and unless you want to breed your chickens, there’s no need for the annoyance of having a rooster. It makes it harder again and take care of the chickens because we usually assholes unnecessary in my eyes unless you wanna hatch.
