    Excellent video. We have several of these items. The KitchenAid immersion blender is great! Freeze dryer is on my Christmas list! 🤔😁

      Thank you, Andy! I don't think we'll be getting anything else on our wish lists this year as our electric oven is going out so we just bought a gas range to replace it. We don't have gas here so that'll be an interesting project!

    I love my immersion blender and air fryer! I also have a cheaper knock off stand mixer that's working well so far, but the cheaper knock off instapot I bought came with a non-stick pot and I just can't cook in it anymore. I have used it several times to pressure cook homemade dog food from meat scraps and stuff, and while the boy's love it, I don't feel as good about it as I COULD.
    I have a Tortie too! Her name is Tycho (Tea-Ko) named after Tycho de Brahe, the famous astronomer, cause she's spangled like the stars!
    Great list of a lot of thing's I would love. Gotta say, my All-American does well on my old, electric cooktop and I can can (hehee) a LOT more in it than those electric models. Mine will take 7 quarts or a double stack of 16 pints, so it saves time.

      Thanks for sharing, Janice! We are jealous of your All-American Canner. That is on our wish list. We have very young children and sometimes we don't have the time/energy for "normal" pressure canning. The electric model is nice for small batches. Or when we can't quite fit everything into our normal pressure canner. Then we can throw the extras in the electric and not have to babysit it as much. Thanks for watching! :)

    I have everything but the freeze dryer which looks awesome! This video will definitely hurt my wallet because of that item alone! I may have an appliance addiction. 🤣
    Now it's my turn to hurt your wallet. Have you ever heard of a Thermomix or the cheaper but just as capable Tokit Omni Cook? They blend, cook, measure, steam, mix etc. It can cook entire multi course meals in one appliance plus have guided recipes via built in tablet devices. These things are amazing.

      At least you have a head-start. We didn't have most of these items just 2 years ago. And yes, you are certainly trying to return the favor and hurt our wallet. That appliance looks really neat - thank you for sharing! 😇

      @@Aprons.Overalls Sorry 😁 The Thermomix or Omni Cooks are so cool. At over $2,000 it's a tough sell for me for the Thermomix but the OmniCook being less than half that it's tempting for someone with a small kitchen like myself. Replacing my blender, mixer, food processor, slow cooker, rice cooker, sous vide, etc etc etc with one machine is so tempting. Currently I'm having to take something out and put something away to make room and this wears enough hats to earn a permanent spot on the counter alongside my other combo appliances (like my air fryer/toaster oven/dehydrator) To me it's the the built in scale that's the game changer. The thought of just tossing ingredients in until it tells me to stop without having to fuss over them would be blissful on a day when I come home worn out and really don't want to think.
      An appliance like this would make the difference between whether I'm eating a home cooked meal versus a microwave dinner.
      Thanks for the reply, I loved the list, even if it left me feeling like a bit of an addict with a problem. 🤣

    Thank you both for reviewing these items, been thinking about electric canner , seems less scary. Please when you get time, could you do some recipe videos using some of your items? I hope you are doing
    well. Take care, God bless

    Do you have a video with you showing how to make pretzels and bagels? I have seen others but I don’t know just didn’t care for them.

      Unfortunately, we do not at this time. We have plans to create more recipe content in 2023 so we can consider creating a pretzel/bagel video. :)

    Question about the dehydrator: what kind of energy/electricity draw does the Excalibur have...and do you notice a significant increase in your electric bill when you run it? We were given a different brand as a wedding gift (it has the fan at the bottom), and just a single day of running it will double our entire month's electric bill. I can't really use it when it is so expensive to run....so I'm curious about whether an Excalibur will impact my electricity as much....and if not, then I may look at replacing my current one.

    • @Aprons.Overalls
      @Aprons.Overalls  Год назад

      Our only utility is electricity so we have a substantial bill each month. However, we've not noticed any significant increase while running it. Most items take 16-24 hours to properly dry. We don't own a freeze dryer, but I've heard those have similar cycle times and I've heard estimates in the $3-$5 range per batch. And thise require more electricity to run than a dehydrator. That being said, I can't forsee a situation where one of these would double your electric bill. I hope this information helps you!

  • @Thisisit120
    @Thisisit120 Год назад +1

    Yeah the Freezedryer may put the dehydrator to shame. But look at some other sites and you’ll see how much trouble people have had with them and then breaking down and not getting fixed. We are into it for over $4500 I only had it for two years and we’ve been dealing with them for five months now and it’s still not been fixed.

      Wow... that's a huge investment. Sorry to hear that, Reta! Would you mind sharing more detail regarding your issue? Was it the freeze dryer itself that failed or was it the pump?
