love your style. looking forward to newer videos
I'm truly impressed. Matt included plasma as a state of matter.
Lovecraft's creatures.
what about the slimey slugs from Galaxy Quest?
looking forward to the newer episode
I once made a Dire Armadillo for a campaign. Instead of having a smooth spherical shell, it had a jagged stone like shell. When it rolled up, it could come down a mountainside like a giant boulder. The party was hired to find out what was destroying houses in a village at the base of the mountain this thing lived on. The village was recently established and had heard terrible rock slide sounds in the evening. As a mining community, almost everyone was out working or gathering food and supplies during the day. When they would come home in the evening to find a decimated building and hear old ladies and children telling stories about living bolders or rock monsters, they began to worry that they had offended some god or a massive earth elemental. A small party was formed by some miners. Not all returned, and the ones that did had broken pickaxes and severe injuries. Whatever it was, it was clearly too much for them to handle.
Question of the week: So many options, but I would have to say Dire Muskrat. Muskrat on their own can be quite vicious, but having one with teeth the size of shortswords would be fantastic. It would have a swim speed and the amphibious trait. Being able to set up a house out in the water that could only be entered from below the surface of the water could really cut down on unwanted house guests as well. That thick oily pelt would definitely bump up its AC and adding a tail lash ability as part of its action economy wouldn't be bad either. I could definitely see it getting sneak attack damage in environments like marshes, shorelines of lakes, and riverbanks. As for the lore, they were once bread in captivity by a clan of Hill Giants as a food source. As the number of giants dwindled from the great wars, the Dire Muskrats found opportunities to chew away at the fencelines of their massive pens and eventually escaped. Now roaming the world for the first time as free creatures, they have begun to set up small colonies in mostly temperate climates. They try to stay away from major urban and built up areas and tend to be territorial by nature because of their past.
i REALLY like the dire moose and penguin!
enjoyed this one a lot!!! very fun idea and i will be using it! i’ll let y’all know; already thinking about dire crows, honey badgers, and more!!!
Sounds amazing! We'd love to see what you come up with!
dire owl for a mount
A very wise choice
@@GoblinsCorner 😅🤣
What's your favorite dire beast? Let us know in the comments!
Woo hoo.
Compost golem
where is your suppliment book
We're putting it together currently (working on a few at once)
love your wit and experience.
I have tried contacting you and no replies
Sorry, the holidays tend to be a bit nuts so we're playing catch up with comments.
We need more content guys, get other members of your team in
I'm still appalled y'all have so few views on here, keep up the amazing content!
love watching you guys, to unwind before bed time
D12 is the cornerstone in my Home Brew TTRPG, Days between Darkness
I am still watching
Isn't it Canon that the geth are descendants of all the slaves that the mind flayers had. Like the descendants of half orcs, elves, humans, ect.
I love throwing twists into long-term campaigns. Having one famous villain posing as or framing another for their crimes while sitting in the shadows and watching everyone react is tons of fun. Making sure to drop subtle clues along the way that make the party begin to rethink what they believe to be true of course.
Always fun. Also great to make for an easy reoccurring bad guy too!
@@GoblinsCorner so true.
Roll spiked tumbleweed versus AC. Or is that too old school? };^) EDIT: Mime assassin, Grem? LOL!
I feel like herbs, remedies, palliatives could play well with medicine skill checks.
A “Cannabis Crawler”. Whoa!
Just found you guys. Liked and Subbed. I enjoyed the discussion. Thx. 👍🏼
Welcome aboard!
🎉 I love this. I am definitely making a roguish gnome NPC encounter where the players have to retrieve (or bargin for) a rare medicinal plant (yet to be created) that will cure a specific form of lycanthropy that is plaguing a small hamlet. When the players arrive, they realize the gnome is living in a grove of frogwart trees that are interconnected with a series of ladders and sky bridges made of bridge vine. They will have to chase the gnome through this labyrinth to his home at the heart of the grove while he pelts them from a distance with the burls from the trees.
I'd like an artist to draw a visual of that amazing description...
My Slaad-sona would be the Indigo Slaad! When a green Slaad goes into hibernation to become a Grey, if it's exposed to a chaos storm in the process it turns indigo instead. These Slaad are still powerful spellcasters, but with crazy psionic flavour using mostly illusion, enchantment, and divination spells with their large third eye as an arcane focus. They also gain the ability to open gates to the astral plane at will by slashing at the air.
Awesome!

Finally, the algorithm actually bubbles something spot-on to the top of my feed. Subbed! Can’t wait to check out your other videos.
Awesome, thank you!
I love this! I have reskined Familiars so many different ways over the years. I started playing in the days of AD&D, so I have had my share of practice and time to think about it. As a DM, I encourage my players to think outside the box and try to strike deals with anything that can fall into the familiar category and develop a bond organically through RP. If I am running a high-level campaign I always have a handful of spells I allow upcasting on. Find familiar is always one of them. Watching someone upcast the spell and request something like a smoke mephit is great. I'm not sure if you have checked out the new 2024 version for pact of the chain yet, but the updated list is much better and includes things like a skeleton and a Slaad tadpole.
Glad you enjoyed it! We've been looking at the updated 2024 versions, but are mostly awaiting its final release before we dive into the specifics. That'll definitely be an episode we cover at some point.
Not sure if you guys still check the comments on these older videos but I just listened to 4 different Gith videos in a row and yours was easily the best. Really awesome and unique ideas you guys had throughout. My only critique is that your censorship sound was way too loud compared to the voice audio, hopefully you guys have changed that for the better in future videos. Thanks for the great content!
Thanks for that note, we'll turn it down for future episodes
but your not making him pay for the vial the price for the quest just increased
how do you feel about homunculus?
This is an excellent question. I think (given the description of the spell), the homunculus isn't a spirit per se, but rather part of the caster's own soul (I'm not 100% sure but I believe the original intention of the spell was basically a constant scrying spell up at the cost of HP). However, many of the ways to get a familiar in this episode could apply to the crafting of a homunculus as well (through RP, magical locations, etc.). That would be pretty cool to have a rogue with a homunculus scout, for example.
Love this! Great job gents! 🤘🏻
Thank you much! Glad you enjoyed it.
How did you guys know I needed this today!? Your timing is exceptional, as always. :) Thanks for all the great ideas and inspiration.
You're quite welcome
Thanks finally a video who talks about it .Thanks again ❤❤
Glad you enjoy it. We're here to help!
great show keep it up.
Thanks! We definitely will :)
Love the pod! I'm running a gestalt spellljammer campaign for over a year now, would love more spelljammer content. I'm totally adding Fire Rats to the next port, and a world eating water bear to some desolate Crystal Sphere sounds fantastic! Thanks so much
Glad you liked it! We've tons more stuff planned too.
Welcome to Eberron...
Making a turned-crazy (semi-nice now) blue slad a union-boss in a walled-off fisher's-city in pandemonium
So nice seeing a longer video on pandemonium. Planning on making a campaign in there, and the ideas you bounce off each other really help getting the think-juice running.
Fun vid
You guys are obviously having lots of fun. I like it.
That's why we do this :)
Yo what did you say
Whaaaat? Huge wealth breaks economies? No Waaaay! If only we would have had some indication of this, either in fiction or reality... Here is what i do: Tax the characters. My setting do not like Murder Hobos. if you are not in a guild, or a noble, you are ONLY allowed to trade in copper. You may Recieve Silver or gold, but you are not allowed to spend it without a license. Now the exchange rate for money clearly favors the higher values, so it costs more to change down currency than to change up currency. Next, i use a Silver standard, as in 100 copper equalls 1 silver, and that equals 1 gold in the books. 1 gold equals 100 silver, so 10 Platinum in the books. Next, i have Actual coinsfor the players. So when they get 50 silver, they actually get 50 coins (I use defunced swedish currency, 1 öre, 2 öre and 5 öre coins) Next, i find ways for the characters to Spend their money. Want full access to the city? Like all the services and so on? Become a citizen and pay taxes, or pay higher rates for everything. The problem is not that players have too much money, the problem is that DMs and players only fixate on the gear the money can buy. Want to be invited to that fancy party so you can meet the people you need to interact with? Well are you a rich citizen or a noble? No? Then you might want to give some money to the city opera project to be seen as someone of worth and note, so you get invited. From Sweden with Love - Kami
Teleport is like rich people with private jets?
