Wall-E 2.0 @ Megacon!
Wall-E 2.0 made his debut at Megacon Orlando! His drive system is working great so far! I still need to put in the replacement servos in his left hand. They are still out. But overall a fun first day! Also, there were 3 other Wall-E’s there and MO, how cool is that!

Hoverboard Powered Wall-E Cart!

I’ve upgraded my Wall-E, so why not upgrade his cart! Wall-E is too wide to drive through standard sized doors so he needs a cart to get from your car to events or vice versa. So I used a hoverboard and made him a custom powered cart!

I’ve finally painted all the new upgraded parts and put him back together. I designed a new motion neck, added motion arms, and designed a brand new drive system that uses brushless motors! There is still some minor touch up painting to do and other little tweaks here and there but I’m calling him done for now! Just in time for Megacon next week!

I think I’ve finally finished all of Wall-E’s upgrades. Now I just need to paint and weather the new parts and put his body shell back on!

Here I do the final tests for the neck mechanism with wires running through the neck and everything hooked up properly. Next will be testing with all the 3D printed parts attached.

I’m in the process of upgrading my Wall-E neck from a static one to a neck with movement. I’ve based my neck on Wall-E Builder Torsten Kalbe’s overall design. But I’ve created all my own custom 3D printed parts by modifying the original club parts.
BB-8 is back!

After a long time off between working on Wall-E and moving into a new house. I finally spent some time on BB-8 giving him some small repairs he’s needed for awhile. Still have a few more things to do. You’ll notice that his PSI light wasn’t lighting up when he talks. That will get fixed, and some other small things. But it was good to see him back as his normal happy self!

It looks really amazing. You forgot to one thing. Eyes is also moving, down and back from the neck. Something like wings. He did it when he was wondering or in some other emotional points. Anyway he is perfect. Well done.

Can i ask about the price of building one of these?
Every build is different. This was 100% custom and has gone through a few different iterations. I haven’t kept track of how much I’ve spent so far but if I had to guess, I think I’ve probably spent around $3k-$4k making Wall-E.

That price is about how much I’ve spent on everything I used to make this one. I don’t make these to sell to anyone, I make them for myself.
