Sterling Little Giant (Single Head)
Located at the Billard Airport in Topeka. I was waiting to film the 2001-130 to see if it was still having problems. Shawnee County did not test today, but the airport did apparently. I went to put the phone back in the holder and it ended the recording early, sorry!

Troublesome 2001-130

We had a pretty bad storm come through a month ago, power was out for a few days in some areas and I think this 2001 as well. Every since then it has been having problems. It winds up for a second and then kicks off, and after a minute tries to wind up again before powering down. But continues to rotate the entire time. Emergency Management was contacted but no reply.
Siren Test

We had a pretty bad storm that took down a bunch of power lines recently. Apparently one of the 2001s still has no power and the battery is on its last leg.
Allertor Siren

Scranton, KS Ex-WAWAS Allertor. This was from last year, and I missed the wind up as they were very late in testing and I was about to leave. (Hence the shakiness)

Do you know if olathe ks thunderbolts were dual tone or single tone
😊
Tbh i hear this in some EAS Senarios
Rising heat siren in attack
Single head Sterling Little Giant. Great catch!
Was it going off in the video?
Where exactly in Topeka is this at?
That's a Sterling little giant
It’s 16 port, I would assume it’s some type of sterling
I'm pretty sure it's 12 port like any other Little Giant. Just running real, real fast
@ ok
Basically a 3t22 that rotates
This would be epic in an attack signal. Fire man right here
Yep they work!!!!!!! More than likely going by the sounds of the sirens those are thunder bolts old ones at that but the good thing is they work and can be Heard loud And clear!!!!!!
It's the end of the world and we know it!!!!!!
It about darn time I found the original recording of the Rising Heat sirens.
It sounded like an Equinox at the beginning.
Well now you know what sirens I hear from my house every Monday
Those 1000s sound beautiful together
Orignater for rising heat sirens
Where is this located?
This is the one at Billard Airport. NE Fairchild & NE Strait in Topeka.
Migh5 saw a STH10 after the crossing of the railroad but it was not sounding great siren overlapping😊
They have the older ones in LA, no longer in use unfortunately. The older version doesn’t rotate in circles it just goes side to side.
That high pitched 3T22/2T22(?) sounds epic. If they made a modern 3T22DC or 2T22DC it would probably sound like that.
Dang, that dying 2001 absolutely TANKED in pitch Was it still winding down at 3:36?
Idk why, but it sounds like a B&N Mobil Directo.
Nice
Wasn’t there an old video of this when the motor was seized?
SD-10s are so quiet
Any chance you can re upload your old siren photo video that had photos of a bunch of stuff? I remember Topeka & Olathe being in it.
Nice! I recorded one last weekend, but it failed. But at least I got an ambience of it!
Now what happened the siren on 2024?
The 2T sounds like an ACA Hurricane lolz
why does it sound like a high pitched 2001?
It sounded like a CLM at one point of the video I'm not Canadian
Reminds me of one of those 2009 recordings. Awesome!
If I heard this in the distance, I'd probably think it was a 2001-130 with a broken rotator.
How loud was it?
Not too many 15/15 2nd Gen B's around anymore. Thanks for filming it! Not bad for being a decade old!
I agree! I think you might have meant a century. Amazing how healthy this is at a century old!

Great one! I’ve been trying to find a Model 2 in Pomona for a while now as I was told there was one. Any idea where it is by chance? I’ve found this one and 3 2001s but not the Model 2.
It’s behind the city shop at 200 Jefferson St. streetview shows a Darley Model 2 but it was replaced with a FS Model 2 a few years back.
It looked more like a Model 1 on streetview.
Awesome mount on this one.
2t22 3t22 aca 125
Seems like it’s getting tired out it’s sluggish and getting and struggling to turn or something change to retired as old sirens
I love how mostly the sirens in Nebraska is that type of siren
Nice video!
Man, hope this thing gets fixed soon, it’s been a while.
Damn, I had my hopes up. Sucks that this thing is still not working. Very nice ambiance, otherwise!
It didn’t work awhile back either, I thought Goddard was supposed to get out and look at it.
Does Topeka still have tbolts or did they get rid of them permanently?
They have 3, but none of them sound.
Interesting they tested on Memorial Day. Salina tests ours first Monday of the month weather permitting at 4 pm.
Why didn't the 500-shtt go off?
I think it was inactive but soon active
This is my second acc ima post it on this acc
