Kayak fishing with Ralph

This channel is intended to document my transition from bank fishing to kayak fishing. The first thing I have learned is that everything is 10 times harder to do in a kayak.

First fish caught with GoPro running on my Hobie Mirage Lynx.
We used to have a fox that would come around and play with our dogs. Sometimes they would get a little rough but never enough to make me worried and no worse than they do eachother. Was really cool
I think one of them ate my cat blitz.😅
Coyote are noted for eating cats, foxes hunt things like mice and rats.
Yes that’s nice🔥💚🔥💚💚🔥💚🔥💚🔥
Dammm nice color on that one 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Do you load it in your truck?
Yes I have video showing how I load and unload. Check my play list. Thanks for stopping by.
Nice!
Sweet rig you’ve got there 🛶 Fish on 🎣 Subbed!
Nice!
Nice work 😮
Thanks 😁
Nice Bass!!!
Awesome!
Enjoyed your video! Keep em going! LOL I eat on beef Jerky while out on the yak!
Thanks for the comment. Keep on fishing. Have a great day.
Great video love your style
Nice!!
Great to have you on the channel! Have a great Day.
@ Thank you! And you as well.
😮 nice Ralph
Thanks for the feedback. Catchen is getting tough. May have to start targeting trout.

😃Thanks.

Thanks
Solid setup...relaxing music...nice voiceover work as well. Some nice bass as well
Thanks
When unloading from your truck and you put your cart on how to you get it to stay in? Mine would fall right out. Also at the ramp you didn't show removing the cart. Do you just let them drop in the water? If so and they stay in guess you have to pull them out.
Thanks for the question. The wheelset has a keeper on it that keeps it in place until you get it on the ground. Once I get the kayak in the water I pull the keeper, then lift the kayak and the wheelset falls out. I can store it behind the seat or put it in my truck. Thanks for watching.
What type of net do you use, and any recommendations? What type of measuring board? Where to you store them?
I use a rubber net because hooks are easier to get out. I stuck myself several times with the old type. Some people like the long ones, I guess that depends on how big the fish are that you're targeting. I don't like the really long ones as they are harder to handle in the kayak. Thanks for the question and sub. Ralph
@@kayakfishingwithralph Thanks. Enjoy your videos. You showed me how to get on the Lynx!!!
@@martinhart2769 It took me a while to get comfortable getting in and out.
hello thinking of getting a fish finder simillar to yours same brand. is it accurate? does it actually display the fish?
Yes, it shows a arch with a red spot. You can adjust it to show different colors but it works great out of the box. I would prefer a transducer that has side scan but that won't work on the Hobie Mirage Lynx. Thanks for the question.
Nice👍💛💛
Thanks for visiting my channel. I really appreciate you stopping by. Have a great day.
I can't believe summer went by and I never made a trip up...Another great video Ralph!
You and me both! Where did the summer go. Leaves are starting to turn up here.
Awesome double Ralph! Classmates from the same school for sure hehe.
Yes they are! No big one's in that school.
Those crappie were healthy!!!
Thanks for stopping by. I can usually catch a few nice crappies on the flicker shads.
Nice work 😮
Thanks for the visit
I've been soaked from the waist down, damp shirt, and the Mirage drive whiffing air between the waves on the Lynx. Still stable in the waves so I stood on it to look at distant boats. Great "kayak"
Thanks for the comment. My first kayak and probably my last as I'm 79 years old. Love it.
Love watching the preparation and launch! Makes your content that much better. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for the feedback.
Yellow is a good Lynx color for on water visibility. Mine is blue.
I have come close to getting hit two times and I think the bright color helped. Now I have flags on my power pole. Thanks for watching.
There's also the 15 minutes of packing up. Which equals 30 minutes which could be spent bank fishing.
Thanks for watching, subscribing and commenting. I bank fished for many years and still do sometimes. I need the exercise that goes with kayaking. I enjoy pedaling around the lake even when the fish are not biting.
Water level is down compared to last year.
Thanks for watching, subscribing, and leaving a comment. Last year for trout derby they had the water really high, even the ropes were in the water so you had to cast over them and then getting a fish in was a real pain.
Around here it's ALWAYS allergy season! Love seeing the set up and prep. Thanks for showing that!
Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Me too Sir. Thanks for taking along/
Thanks for watching.
I love going to Brite in the summer and camp a few days with the kayak. Nice lunker Ralph!
Hope you enjoy camping and fishing at Bright Lake.
perfect spot.
Yes, it was!
I need to make room in my garage for my kayak.
I keep it in the garage when we are in Bakersfield but our condo in Stallion Springs does not have one so I keep it covered with a tarp.
8:58 nice crappie!
Thanks
I have never caught a crappie. One day!
Thanks for the comment, Mark. Great fighters and they make great fish tacos.
4:15 WOW! That must be the one that got away from me a couple of years ago lol.
LOL
Love Brite Lake. Summer camping is so nice there. No pressure.
Fish on! Ralph I just retired, have a kayak I have been out a few times in it at BV, Truxtun, San Simeon and would love to hook up with you sometime sir.
Sounds great! I live close to Bright Lake. I can fish any day except Tuesday and Sunday. Let me know when you're in the area.
Thanks for posting. Lover your tips including getting on and off. I am struggling with the "snap" require to raise and lower the rudder. 70 years old and you give me motivation to continue fishing with my Lynx!
I have the same problem with the rudder. I'm 78 and fill every bit of it after a day on the water. I have set a 5-hour limit on the water just to keep from staying all day.
Ralph, thanks for your response. Last Saturday while fishing on a river in NE Oklahoma, hit some limbs and flipped my Lynx twice within 20 minutes! Only dignity and pride injured but lost pedal drive. Going back to look for it this weekend. Thanks for you videos, love them!
Hang in there Ralph😊
Thanks
