On the front side of this charging port is there two screws the attach this to the motherboard. Mine did not have screws. However, charging port would work when the charger was positioned upward - meaning the connection was better when its charging port was pushed upward! Is there anything i can do to fix easily - like grabing two screws - or do you recommend just bringing it in to have a professional change it?

I will not buy MSI again! The keyboard of other laptops is fixed differently and more convenient to change without needing to remove the motherboard! Besides, on other laptops, I never needed to change the keyboard. MSI keyboard is not good quality! Many MSI laptops have problems with keys of keyboard. On my laptop MSI GE 72 2 QF - 265 XFR three keys of keyboard do not work no more.

At this point i would just change the entire uppercase its not worth the hassle sure the whole uppercase costs more but its worth it, my inspiron has a broken space, ctrl key and a sticky W key

I am going to try that on my Dell Latitude E6540.... The power button is all afloat under that P/B opening..... if I move the button just right and touch it very lightly, the PC boots up. Bu then the P/B slides off to one side or the other and I got to move it back where it works....! Thanks man.....! =)

The enclosure of the fan gets bent from the flex of the chassis. Trial and error, testing the fan before reassembling. Put the fan enclosure pieces on a glass table to make sure that they're completely flat. Gently bend until there is no contact. Test, test test. Don't be shocked when lubrication isn't the problem.

Nice, fyi: there is sound only on the left channel and noise on the right channel in your video.

I really want to open mine up to replace thermal grease and SSD(been kind of slow lately and it seems like a driver issue) but all I have is a hair dryer. xD

I watched a couple of other videos that never mention the difficulty of the task, making it seem like a no-brainer. A new battery would be nice, but I'm not willing to risk the computer. After watching this video, I put my Surface back in the docking station and will use it from now on plugged in. End of story. Thanks so much!!

The charging port on my surface 3 is broken and only charges in a certain position the screen is in perfect condition I don't know why microsoft purposely designed it like this

i trew it in the bin - the same bin , i found a fully working macbook pro 13 model - with at bad power(magnet)plug - on which i soldered a a permanent power plug - since i never use my comuters outside anyway ! - there a reason this planet is F#&$`ed !

Just finished replacing a keyboard on one of these, took me many hours and a burnt finger :) Instead of melting the plastic rivets I chipped away at their heads with an exacto knife and, most importantly, saved the plastic bits! I tried to slowly cut into them instead of ripping them off because they would then break at a lower height. I also marked the places where I cut a rivet with a sharpie so I don't miss any when putting things back. When time came to fix the new keyboard in place, I placed bits of the cut plastic on top of the rivet and melted them together with the tops of the rivets with the soldering iron. You may try other plastics you have around but I found that not all plastics will "fuse" together with the one that the laptop is made from, that's why I kept the cut rivet bits. Other plastics I tried, with varying degrees of sucess: zip ties, wall plugs, clear packaging plastic.
