The Detroit in my 1967 linkbelt LS108B lattice boom crawler crane is superior to anything you wanna compare it to… old faithful.
My fourth gen Cummins would have been perfect with a ZF 8 speed trans.
worst list ever created
I had a Korean guy that had to swap out the Chevy 350 every year because that piece of junk died. What the issue was that when he had the re-manufactured long-block installed, it came with break in oil (non-detergent 30 weight oil) and a no name white filter with a short string of numbers on it, and when I pulled the old dead engine, it had that same filter on it and the oil pump bypass was wedged open and the filter was jam packer with metal shards of internal engine destruction because HE NEVER CHANGED THE OIL OR FILTER AFTER INSTALLING IT AND JUST RAN IT TO DEATH!
Car runs fine, starts fine even in COLD, will check that gas cap and HOPE that's it! Thanks.
I've had ford & chevy inline 6"S & Chrysler slant 6. Ever damn 1 of them we're tanks & when takin care of took care us less problems. Obviously not withstanding the occasional repair/s. Each 1 taking us well beyond a quarter million miles.
They were gutless gas guzzlers but they did last forever. But a 2 wd getting 12mpg vs a 350 chevy 4x4 getting 18mpg, I can't say the Ford was good
Yeah Good point
I have a Chevy 230 I6 and even in the winter pull the choke pump the gas all the way to the floor 2 times then turn the key it fires up no issue.
CUMMINS ALL THE WAY ! AND U DON'T HAVE TO LIFT THE CAB UP TO WORK ON IT. POWERCHOKES AND DURACRACKS HAVE NO ROOM TO DO SH!T, IF U DO YOUR OWN REPAIRS AND MODIFICATIONS
I think the 4th gen is the best truck that dodge made
ALL three cylinder engines are CRAP! they are not balanced, and are designed to fail, they do not want the public to have personal transport. We are now seeing engine design that are worse than the ones they replace. A 4 cylinder 1.0 engine lasts - if serviced - forever, the three cylinder barely make 60k.
I’ve owned both a 2020 6.6L L5P dmax and the 2022 6.7 Pwr Stroke. Both had 10 spd trans. I prefer the Chev drive experience over the Ford.
My 2015 Duramax tows like the trailer isn't there and has great fuel economy. Still runs great at 160k miles.
Screw John Deer's "technological advances". I'm not the least God damned impressed with their BS extortion of the American farmer. Get rid of the electronics and stop the nonsense. Battery, relay, starter, alternator, voltage regulator, coil, distributor and plugs.... END OF STORY. This entire concept of excessive Rube Goldberg design in every aspect of life has got to be irradicated. TVs, cell phones, computers, stereo equipment and video games are the only thing in a human being's life that requires electronics. Leave our cars, trucks, appliances, HVAC systems and farm equipment alone. We have a JD 430 that causes less grief than the new crap.
I agree
the 5.9 and 6.7 cummins were also used in hybrid transit buses the 6.7 still being used today in buses such as the new flyer xde40, gillig low floor hybrid, and novabus lfs hev
Lol Ai channel
Adapting to changing emissions standards? Dude i love cummings but they paid 2 billion dollars in fines for delete equipment. They didnt adapt. They cheated it lol
Didnt that allison transmissions overheat on multiple you tube hauling tests uphill?
Emission government regulations aside, No point in Powerstrokeimg or wearing a Duramax if you don't Cummins in the End 😅
It’s all a matter of personal preference, some love Duramax, some love Cummins, and some love the PowerStroke and for me, I absolutely love the 7.3L and 6.7L PowerStrokes. I also think rather highly of the LBZ and L5P Duramax, and the 12-valve 5.9L Cummins. In the end, it’s all a matter of personal preference, and whichever truck you prefer, I hope it treats you well and I hope you get many years of loyal service with the truck
The secret is after the warranty, delete everything and add etf transmission oil at each tank fill to lubricate and keep the injectors healthy so I maintain my 6.4 powerstroke without any problem after 16 years with zero engine problems
Go look at what Banks did to DuraMax over the last few years, “TRIED” to over HP and kill it, It just kept going like no tomorrow. I’m a 7.3 guy yet DM is a easy top dog IMO. HONESTLY you can NOT go wrong with anyone of these if you spend time and bolster there weak points and Gleen its hidden HP they all posses. Yes 6.0 PS diesel had major issues, 7.3 or Nothing!!!!!
Agree
The 3.0 diesel motor is garbage and should have never been approved for production. The 5.0 V8 is the best option especially from 2015-2017 F-150's. The 3.7 or 3.3 NA V6 motor is your 2nd best option. The 3.5 and 2.7 are great engines but require more delicate maintenance and may have inherent problems not associated with the other aforementioned motors. The 7.3 and 6.8 NA V8's are great engines as well and the 6.7 diesel is their best motor.
Dodge cheap junk 💯😂
As far a reliability Cummins.. did a grid heater delete..emissions delete... as for towinglook at top 3 in any sled pull.. usually all cummins
You didn't even mention the heater grid problem on virtually ALL Cummins Engines used in RAMS, where the nut & stud on the grid heater GETS INGESTED into the Engine NECESSITATING ENGINE rEPLACEMENT ! And I'M Wondering WHY, as this is still a huge problem today that has not even been recalled !
Gmc vs ford vs ram
Cannot imagine people using incorrect oil is companies fault.
I’ve checked the engines listed are US manufactured not from European or Asian countries. US manufacturing is rubbish.
LmL 💪 lp5 💪
Where are the car companies getting their engineers, makes you wonder, running a timing belt through oil, sounds good, but do they test out any of their "great ideas", GDI, sounds good, but unless you are a meticulous owner about maintenance, and realistically, there's not many, GDI is destined to cause a premature death of your engine, the so called engineers have literally ruined modern vehicles, too much tech, without any reliability.
Planned obsolescence
I had a 1.0 ecoboost fiesta. I had 175,000 trouble-free miles and have no doubt it would have gone to 200k if two deer didn't total the car. I read the owners manual and it said 7500 mile oil changes. I thought about a little 1.0 pumping it's heart out and decided to do oil changes every 3500-4000 miles. Not one issue with the car.
The QR25 problems were 20+ years ago you clown.
GM acquired SAAB to get access to their 1.9 litre diesel engine. This could be configured as a single OHC or twin OHC which gave improved performance and economy. I have had three of these and they all ran over 100,000 miles ( UK miles LOL) with correct servicing. They never needed top ups of oil between service intervals at every 10,000 miles. The only bits that failed were a glow plug, plastic coolant header tank, and a plastic pipe in the turbo boost system. Water pumps were changed with the cam belt at 100,000 miles. The basic engine was shared with other manufacturers including Alfa Romeo. The engine in twin cam form gives over 50 mpg at motorway speeds, running at 2000 rpm which actually gives a speed slightly above the UK limit of 70mph. If our American friends have problems with this motor its because they aren't driving it right. Keep the revs up and don't lug it at low speeds in high gears!
Okay This is great. Thank you for sharing
The 1,9 litre are a FIAT engine. Not a SAAB. Also sold In the Lancia Delta as the 1.9 MultiJet Twin Turbo
@@perresoren That's not what I read. GM needed an engine that met updated and amended tax rules affecting the market for business cars because their 2.2 litre diesel lump did not meet the new rules. That was why they acquired SAAB. The 1.9 litre diesel motor was installed during the production of the Vectra and continued into the Insignia, as well as some vans. Some Vauxhall vans received the Renault 1.9 litre diesel motor. A friend has one.
2005 LLY 300K and counting, the Duramax was designed and built by Isuzu in Japan 🇯🇵!
What about the 3L in-line 6 Duramax. Starting to see these everywhere. One in my driveway.
Yes I tried to focus on 3/4 and 1 ton ones in this video
They cram 2 great big red hot turbo's together in the middle of a high performance V8 and wonder why EVERY pipe and cable in there with them melt like candles - staggering stupidity! 🙄🤡
They are all really really nice and reliable! The 6.7 powerstroke is the best. They all make tons of power but the ford is the best. Most expensive though. Justifiable after driving them all.
@@6.7Pstroke that 6.7 is junk we have had 5 blew up they were new engines
@ShawnMullins-r4f oh damn lol. I wouldn't like them either if I had your luck
@ShawnMullins-r4f your a hater, I see your other comments
Own a 2022 ram 3500 and I've put 185K miles on it, only major repair I've done to it was the transmission, total cost $3800 other than that a few sensors here and there.
Did you have the 68rfe or the aisin? I ask because I just purchased (well…about 6 months ago) a 23 5500 and hope to heck I get further than that before it goes out. I wish I could swap my g56 from my 4th gen into it 😂
Ford used to build the worlds best engines.. Not anymore.. I'd never buy a new Ford. But other makes are no better
Duramax all the way and the only reason why power strokes are the top selling vehicle and they have been it’s all because they’re cheaper for companies to buy and if I go to every company that I have ever worked for and I have own companies too I figured out that Ford sucks ballsand Cummins and Dodgers are better and Duramax’s last longer than both of them
Huffing on duramax coolant in the exhaust are you??
Duramax all the way and they last forever with little to no problems and they can take a beating
Those 2.4 Tiger Shark engines in Dodge Darts are hitting 300,000 miles with no problems when you take care of them, so this video claiming they're bad engines is putting out the wrong info to people. ruclips.net/video/fRvfrtPR1Bw/видео.htmlsi=3xMx3wPd0qHeauL3
What about the cummins 2020 models with the roller lifter failures
@@pauloneil3212 right Thank you for pointing out
Personally I've had better luck with the couple of powerstroke I have a 2000 F350 4wd drw with a 7.3 powerstroke and a 2019 F350 4wd lariat ultimate crew cab with 6.7 powerstroke it has been a incredible engine
it hurts my soul to see a nissan diesel….. i doing know why but it makes me cringe😂
Thanks JB
Thank You for the comment, though I dont know what JB is
@ my bad, should proof read before sending
Cousin works at gm dealership & says they are durajunk
Good friend owns a shop, has been diehard GM his whole life and always gave me crap for owning rams w/Cummins and a couple months ago told me he’s selling his duramax hauler for a ram for the same reason.
Actually the 6.9 IDI is the real predecessor to the powerstroke
Kinda. It was before the 7.3 IDI. Both idi engines were great! But very very gutless.
My 7.3 idi is great. I get 25 mpg on highway 🛣️🛣️🛣️
That engine u showed for the ford was not a powerstroke , it was a 7.3 liter I D I ENGINE that they put a turbo , the power stroke was a direct injection v8 with a Garrett turbo and heui that used high pressure engine oil to fire the injectors. I know this because i owned every ford diesel from the 6.9 idi 7.3 idi then the 7.3 idi with the turbo and it only says turbo diesel under the f250/f350 badge , and then i had a couple 1997 powerstrokes, about 3 2000 7.3 powerstrokes were all great worktruck engines that never died on me , and are prob out there right now doin something cool. The 86 6.9 had 689k when i sold it and all the other 7.3s i had were all above 200k with some over 400k i dont like any of the crap they are putting on these new diesels, they could be tuned to burn way cleaner without all that junk
Okay This is great, really I should have used you as a source. You know it in out. Thank you for sharing.
Lb7 is the loudest truck straight piped right up with cummins!
