      I’ll keep a closer eye on that I just happened to be walking through a dealer’s weld bay and it was in there that was the first one made and first time I had seen it. I guess there is several coming to somebody at higher horsepower around 400 and a sloped back really about all I know about them kinda hope it stays that way…. I am sure somebody will ask me to do something to one at some point. It’s all about support if product is decent and they take care of you I am happy.

    I'd like to know details about what appear to be pop up log rotation rollers that begin to appear sporadicly approximately 0:36 seconds in. My main question is where to source the rollers. Does Linn now sell them?

      HI Oldold Pilgrim. great observation it was a good attempt at a log roller and it dose work if i had to do it again i would anchor it to one side with a hinge then put jack to other side as far as i know linn lumber dose not offer anything like that they should it was super easy to make i spec and bought the wheel online and made the plates and it has a harbor freight air cherry picker jack for a lift around 200 in materials to make one and i have too in place currently. heres where i bought the wheels from they are very nice for the price casterconnection.com/wheel/5-x-2-cast-iron-wheel

    If you think thats bad, took winch off to work on clutch brake, try putting a winch on with a blind pto that you cant see or get to to turn and align. I dont know what my winch weighs but a friend's bigger crane of two class 7 service trucks wouldn't lift it and the 200lc knew it was there. First attempt we gave up and had to try another time

    • @timbertownusa1776
      @timbertownusa1776 5 месяцев назад

      I didn't think it was all that bad it was an easy machine over all by myself and. Ya i could see doing a winch that way would not have been easy or fun. is a 200LC a deere excavator? i am assuming whats something like that lift above ground i am picturing 10 to 14k capacity if it has a short stick boom configuration and has a long undercarriage excavators do ok in that area 5 to 10 ft from ground but its not their balance point or place they shine for power that's for sure thanks for the comment.

      Hitachi but I'm thinking they built Deere excavator back then

    • @timbertownusa1776
      @timbertownusa1776 5 месяцев назад

      ya they did, I think they might still in some sizes but hitachi is selling them out of their own dealerships as well is the main change currently or so i was told. Interesting story i was told hitachi was a pariatilly state owned corporation in japan and they guard excavator improvements very closely and negotiate what can leave the country very carefully under competing brands to keep Hitachi relevant being tied to a cat dealer at one point i saw it first hand at that time with the first generation of electronic solenoid valve system that had four valve per cylinder and Japan threw a huge fit the system literally overnite could only be ordered special order on the machine with the accumulator in the swing circuit for producing efficiency that system I don't remember the name it was the pre Katana system (project name) cat uses now. that was 2012 or so been a bit.

    • @timbertownusa1776
      @timbertownusa1776 6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the comment. There was numerous things going on. alternator was not charging after some looking around and some bad connections causing issues loose batteries things covered in concrete, I discovered there was an an air compressor mounted to this machine that had a air leak and all the oil that looked terrible was coming from two places the transmission pump and this air pressure regulator that likely had water in it during a recent freeze and cracked it causing compressor to run constantly till it was low on oil and overheated compressor the draw on the batteries they went dead sometime after the alternator died from the high stress it was put under. hope that helps i always get there after the fact and have to kinda figure it out with this customer.

      @@zachattack1433 Thanks for the comment, however this is not my first encounter in this environment with this issue and if you watch the whole video you will see this was not a matter of just cleaning it.... my time repairing this was likely worth more doing something else so i decided once i saw what was going on inside it i stopped working on it. so replacement in my case makes much more sense as for others i cant say cause it's what you can make for yourself versus cost most of the time this becomes a major factor in my decisions if I have work I usually make more than i spend but if i got a slack time i can do just about anything including fixing this crazy ass design that should not even exist.

    Secret ? Lol don’t forget the axles 😂 High drive transmissions are simple to remove when there’s no work tool behind the tractor. Dropppng a ripper table down is a more time and awkward climbing in there …. Conventional drive was way dirtier more work to get out / in

      Its not a secret really but if ya knew nothing about heavy equipment which is a majority of those that are curious about heavy equipment its a catch line right. Absolutely didn't forget the axle shafts, the footage of that part just wasn't that good and the extra time on the video combined with typical watch time didn't make a good first video for youtube to push so i cut it and other parts of it. totally agree these are a piece of cake they make great videos for traffic cause most people don't think about how to get one in or out. thanks for comment have a great day!

      @@timbertownusa1776 Good info. Thanks. The "manual" that came with the boss compressor really doesn't say anything about proper operation. I use the compressor almost daily but have concluded it's overkill. I don't know how a normal heavy equipment mechanic could rack up 500 hours of compressor run time in a year.

    • @timbertownusa1776
      @timbertownusa1776 5 месяцев назад

      Totally agreed on overkill I think cause I use mine for pumping fuel ect it’s runs in longer bursts and it has the valve for heating it up don’t know if it came with or it was added by compressor world cause I added the option during checkout, so anyways onto other things.

    • @wesleycooper2647
      @wesleycooper2647 8 месяцев назад

      Well even just at 20 degrees out it will start then load down and completely stall the hydraulic motor. Then usually you have to wait 20 minutes then try again. Obviously it gets froze up somewhere.

    • @timbertownusa1776
      @timbertownusa1776 8 месяцев назад

      @@wesleycooper2647 OK that's interesting, i know those screw compressors are a different beast and you need to have a lot of air volume use to justify them like running air pump ect for extended amounts of time or its the wrong compressor for the application. I see this appears to be a common issues with screw compressors under 40 deg F. i will keep that in mind. thanks for the input gives me some ideas for a new project here in the future.

      The High track has its place for sure. I think they are great in applications like trash and rock where the wear on duo cone seals is greatly reduced with the proper guarding and being up out of the debris. Many say its not as good due to the amount of wrap on the track final drive sprockets. and torque to the ground but i dont know about amount of torque to the ground cat dozers push hard but there is some increased wear from my experience but then again that's back to the material machine is being used in...
