I'm really curious how much does that affect the ride 🤔
Strange that they call that a shackle flip. No flipping just one and lowered😮
What year model is your Cat 225 ? I have a 1976 Cat 225 long boom and stick with wide pads .. No computer CRAP😎👌
I am from China Seals Factory. Our company produces many types of hydraulic oil seals. If you are interested in our products, we can send you free samples so that you can learn more about our products.
Thanks for the helpful video Old Farm 🙂 Remember that God loves you! 🙂
Don't believe you did all that work and never redressed the piston, bad practice.
No logic in that for sure.. The seals had to be 40 years old at least. Some folks will spend a dollar to save a dime..💰😎👌
These are suppose to have .001-.005 of endplay. Not sure where this procedure came from but the sequence is correct but after 35 ft lbs you back it off again and tighten to zero lash and back nut off to closest slot. 1 rotation of the nut is .062 so each of the 6 notches it .010 end play. Just like every other full floater on the planet they are supose to have end play. Its odd how pinion bearings can be preloaded a fair amount to meet spec but they want end play on a spindle bearing that is also lubed with gear oil. Maybe its the vehicle weight on the wheel bearings? Or maybe end play is only needed for greade packed bearings? I dont know....
I have seen very few men as incompetent as him
Holaaa Amigooo dónde consigues las refacciones del 3208 tengo uno igual en un Ford l8000.
Get a map gas torch much hotter then propane. Map gas torch heat then outside around metal sleeve it will expand and the drive metal sleeve out. I’ve never rebuilt a spring like this. Very well done.
There is really no need to remove the inner fender separately, the whole fender assembly can be removed with the inner fender still bolted onto it. Other than that, good video and clearly showed all the bolt locations which other videos fail to clearly show.
Boltster sir... No ziplock bags needed.
My 2008 cab and a half short bed 1/2 ton 4x4 is the same wheel base , 143 , i got 4 more between 08 and 2012 , non of the wheel bases are the same
Were I can buy that kit ?
Is that a Toyota t100?
I have discovered that using a wrench for removing the carrier works pretty well, I used a wrench on one of the Ring Gear Bolts and turned the Carrier unit until the wrench is touching the differential housing, the I turned the pinion Yoke on the Carrier pushed itself out. Tried to remove it with two large pry bars before that and one of them slipped out of place Clunking Me Up Side My Head! 😮. No Fun!
I like maintaining a older car it is like a hobby
Super merci pour le montage
Nice Video. Always great to see a guy know what he is doing with a great product. Nice heavy duty drag link also. Already subbed and here's your thumb. Thanks.
Are the 1991c2500 8 lug full floaters or semi?
Heating Viton rubber creates a deadly gas. Make sure your rubber o rings and seals made of Vitron don't get burnt
Like your video. Right to the point.
Debería de aser el video en español porque muy rápido habla y aquí me sale escrito lo que dice pero a esa velocidad ni con una caja spicer alcanzo a leer lo que dice
but getting the cyl. out of 6170R WAS TOTALLY A PAIN WERE A PILL OR ALCOHAL CAN REACH
Do you have a parts list with all the parts you used for the rebuild?
thanks guy's took the worry out of it
I put a little bit of grease in the Ferch and pads on my 06 power waggon many years ago and I made a great difference on the flexibility and ride so I believe and restoring your old leaf springs by clean them up and put a little bit of lube or the friction! Again, good video
Good video
Whats the current status of this truck?
I am having a problem finding a kit to relocate my steering box on my 2003 Chevrolet Astro Van. Can you tell me where I can order one? I am sure I am either not looking in the right places or have the kit I am looking for. I could be looking it up with the wrong words. help please?
Man I love DIY’s
Thank you for your video. I am in Europe and I have bought a 1976 K20. Could you give me some more detail on these reinforcements please (width of the pipes/if and where you bought the crossmember ...)? Best
Seen you on Facebook figured I'd give a sub
That test works for me...I'd suspect the threads were stretching on that troublesome bolt and not a reflection of the accuracy of the wrenches...
You can also hammer a small chisel in the spring eye gap and tap bushing out.
Why did u skip showing where the lower bolt is by the door??
I’ve always heard that you’re supposed to loosen these to the next slot the key will fit in because if they’re too tight you will smoke the bearing
Where did you find a 3208
My father in law has had a spare for several years. He was a diesel mechanic for 40+ years. I don’t remember the exact story but I think he bought a wrecked truck, parted it out and kept the motor. Thanks for watching
I have a sweet Cat 225blc I bought in 1997. Never had one issue with engine. Knock on wood. Still runs today. If it ever goes...what should I do? I like the machine. It's tough and reliable. What would it cost me to replace and from where? Looks like you fellers are knuckle busters and know what life is about. I salute you
Can you post a part number for those outer axle tube seals by chance? Thanks
Outer axle seals: www.offroaddesign.com/d60-outer-axle-seal.html Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! Just remember heat the inside metal sleeve only. Not the spring itself!! Good luck on your project
@@Offroadfarm1 Thanks for the responses Chris! Appreciate the input! Cheers
Great videos. Simple and to the point. Thanks.
Glad you like them!
Making my rebuild go super smooth f3lla thanks again! Im having a bit of a hard time tracking down a part # on those outter axle seals to keep the shmoo out of my axle tubes. You wouldnt happen to have them bu chance eh?
Outer axle seals: www.offroaddesign.com/d60-outer-axle-seal.html Try that link
What a beauty. Thanks !!
Or, use the vice to get them out... and you are worried about a mask for somethings but not burning rubber? Overall, decent vid.
What year 60 is this?
Per the VIN 87 Thanks for watching!
What was your final torque on the outter lock ring? I saw you hit 50 and said you like a little more. What so you recommend? I appreciate your videos I am currently doing this on a cucv
Would a ball joint press work for removing these?
Never tried it but I'm sure that would work, thanks for watching!
Saludos podrían poner la posición de las mangueras del bastón ala balvoula y al pistón
The shackle flip on those add about 4", the best thing for ride quality is to use actual shocks instead of the lift shock that Rancho and Skyjacker sell, those are only dampeners, they destroy ride quality. Use the factory length shocks off the mid to late 90's Chevy truck, like off a 96, on the front, use the factory rear off of like a 1977 Chevy truck, I have always gone a step up and used either Gabriel or Monroe overload shocks with the extra coils, night and day difference in ride quality
I'll be running Blistein shocks
Can I please get some assistance I have a 1995 c2500 chevy Cheyenne,it has drum breaks I hate how they look and probably harder to work on, what would I need I can’t find any thing or kits for my truck please help ?
Do you know what axle you have on your truck? How many lugs? 6 or 8 ? Try this link: Outer axle seals: www.offroaddesign.com/d60-outer-axle-seal.html It will help you figure out which axle you have and they may have a kit for you. Thanks for watching!
About removing the bushing, why not spray some penetration oil like wd40 and let it sip though overnight?
You could try that but I seriously doubt it would make much of a difference in removing the bushing. Thanks for watching!
did they say anything about pinion angle?
Only that it will change pinion angle. There are so many variables, it is hard for them so say for certain how much and if you will need to address it. Thanks for watching
Hej grabbar.
