The cut itself did not look very clean. You could see lots of small cut lines. Do you think this was because you had too much play on the saw so it was moving on the track a bit? Or does it always leave a slightly rough cut?

One thing people should be aware of is that the Milwaukee comes with an edge guide, whereas the DeWalt does not and must be purchased separately. That matters to me

At first, I was mortified that someone would buy what is pretty much THE flagship for home printing on a bed this size with no prior knowledge or usage of 3D printers. At first I thought I was watching a 16 year old get a Mercedes for his birthday. But then it hit me… that’s not what it’s about. We’ve accidentally normalized the struggle of 3D printing over the years - having to constantly tune machines, having failures if your slicer settings aren’t perfect to your setup, and spending more on parts/fixes/upgrades than you did on your original printer just to keep it alive. Watching you, essentially a layman to 3D printing start operating on a level that I couldn’t get to for weeks into my first printer was something that I’ve been waiting for for years. This is how 3D printers become home appliances. Glad you’re in, my man. Congrats on having one of the most beautiful machines out there.

You are actually not getting 20 inches across because wheel molding is inlaid. You are loosing a considerable amount of space in the bottom of the rolling tool box because of this. That is the main reason I went with the DeWalt system over this one.

Matt, thank you for the great review of the DeWalt track saw. I happen to be a DeWalt fan boy as you would say. I'm just starting to get back into woodworking after a 14yr hiatus. I see you compare the saw from DeWalt with Milwaukee and festool track size. What I also see that the DeWalt tracksaw is not priced anywhere close to the ballpark of what the Milwaukee or the Fez tool track saw cost. Dewalts 612 at the cheapest and Milwaukee and fist tool are the $900 range for the same thing that you get with the DeWalt. I did see in the DeWalt price point that rigid track saw is in the same ballpark and makitas tracks hot is in the same ballpark as price. Out of the three track saws that I mentioned there last the DeWalt, that rigid, or the Makita track saw which would you recommend after doing a review on all those three track saws? I really do like the fast tool tools I just can't justify the difference in price compared to DeWalt to buy fist tool at this point. I'm glad to see you start another channel and be more in depth with what you think about the products congratulations hopefully it'll take off just as good as though 7:31 woodworking channel. Look forward to hearing what you responds is to my questions thank you for your time Matt have a great day and keep up the great work.

I've had bad luck with cheap 3d printers. I've been looking at the X1 C and seeing your POV really answered a lot of questions I had about how legitimately easy it is to use. Thanks for the thorough look over it. I feel like a lot of the 3D printing channels are biased because they have a level of experience that most people don't have coming into the hobby and so they overlook or downplay a lot of issues a newcomer may have.

Most new printers have bed leveling. However, if you are a woodworkers and can set a table saw fence parallel to the blade, bed leveling is a nothing. New printers have it and prices haven't really gone up so why not. But leveling was a snap, and not something I had to redo, unless I changed something major. The mechanical side of 3d printers is simple, but the bug fixing is what screws with your time. i didn't probably spend more than 5 minutes leveling the bed, but as you found out earlier, the smallest glitch is a time sink.

Just ordered this A1 mini (no combo) from bambu lab canada. The discount price is very good for student. A1 is better in terms of print size but I think if I do need something bigger n better later, i'd go direct to the next level with P/X series if I really like this product and decide to get real serious into 3d printing.

I own a P1S without the AMS, I wish I bought the combo instead because I would love to be able to print multi color. A few things I'd recommend. Depending on where you are located invest in a filament drier, I have a Sunlu S4 that fits 4 rolls of filament and is amazing, if you haven't yet, you will soon start having problems with bad quality prints and its usually caused by wet filament (due to humidity), so I drier is a must have. Also would recommend getting the textured PEI build plate, make sure you don't touch the plate with your fingers because the skin oils will cause the prints to not stick. I have never had to use ANY glue for my prints in the 10 months I've had my printer.

  • @Edward-Plantagenet

Brilliant review. I was contemplating a resin printer for miniatures but, while I really like the idea of being able to print fine detail better I REALLY don't fancy the mess / clean up / hassle. Yes I can can do it, just don't want to. This looks ideal though. How are the filament lines on the prints? It's the one thing that always turns me off FDM but I'm told the Bambulabs machines are better than many others. On balance I think I'd rather put up with lines (if they are not really bad), one machine and a spool rather than a resin printer, wash / cure station, gloves, masks, IPA, chemical disposal, smell etc etc etc.

I bought the A1 mini a couple of weeks ago and am having a blast with it. My only gripe is that it essentially only does PLA and PETG filament. TPU and PVA, the other two filaments they recommend for this model are specialized filaments. I've had basically no luck with TPU (I've ordered their largest nozzle size to see if that improves matters). But I'm also using Overture TPU, which may be the problem. It doesn't seem to want to stick to the bed very well. I've used up almost a whole spool of Bambu matte PLA with good results. And I've just gotten done printing some hose adaptors for a laser cutter vent which I designed in Blender and exported (which was very easy and worked great). I used Bambu translucent PETG for those. Worked okay. Strong stuff, but kinda ugly. Anyway, I'm hooked. Am thinking of maybe getting the A1 or possibly the P1P (the A1 still has the filament limitation as the mini).
