As one of those “I hate men” woman, first of all, I don’t really hate men. But the more I talk to men, the more I run into very consistent issues. I don’t care who pays on the date. If I’m the one asking the other person out, I’m happy to pay for it myself. I’m happy to split. I’m happy if the guy wants to pay for the meal. But some consistent issues with men I’ve found are their natural objectification of women. They’re so conditioned into believing that it’s ok that they don’t even notice it. Catcalling, talking about women’s bodies when it’s irrelevant, expecting s*x in return for paying for a meal or affection, whatever. Only willing to have female friends for the purpose of getting them into bed later. Another thing I’ve encountered is men leading being open to dating you-for instance, I’m as3xual and pretty masculine-but then over time try to pressure you into becoming their “dream girl.” (In my case, a feminine girl who wants s*x.) I also hate casual misogyny of thinking men are better or smarter or more reasonable than women. Society also infantilises men and dismisses their behaviour with the mentality of “boys will be boys,” resulting in men with very poor communication skills. I don’t want a relationship with someone I have to TEACH how to communicate, and this Ende up being my friendships with a lot of men. I’m TEACHING them how to talk to girls. Finally, men really need to be able to talk to each other. A lot of my female friends and I have the experience of men we barely know opening up to us and totally trauma dumping just because women are such a nurturing presence, and that’s just really taxing on our psyches with very little return.

I also find it very rich when women say "The one who asked for the date should pay". Lady, when's the last time you asked a dude out?!

This made me cry happy and sad tears. I’m AA and I wish I had a connection to my mother country. It’s hard being over here in the US and not knowing what our culture is. We have no country to truly claim. We don’t know our native tongue. We are just really a group of people pretty much creating our own traditions and cultures because we know nothing else. Seems like we aren’t accepted here or there. It truly breaks my heart. I was first told my roots were in Eq Guinea but I took another test this year and it said Senegal. I just wish as a people we could connect with each other on a real level, without the judgements and criticisms and love and learn from one another. Regardless of where we’re from I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU LADIES! ❤️
