NICHOLS RETIREMENT EMPIRE
США
Добавлен 10 апр 2018
I started Nichols Retirement Empire with 45 days left before my retirement after 29 years as a teacher and administrator. Retirement will be a new adventure! What will I do from day to day? What are my retirement plans? I love to fish. What about a part-time job? My wife has PLENTY of plans for me. I noticed on RUclips there are not a lot of channels focusing on retired life, and my goal is to create a channel that will be interesting for men, women, teachers, administrators, and retiree's in general. Follow me through my last 45 days in education and beyond!
Lake Weiss Extravaganza
I took a 3 day trip to Lake Weiss Alabama and this is the result. This was in early September and the Lake temp is still near 80.

Me and the Marsh Plumber went fishing with float rigs for speckled trout and reds here at the barrier islands on coastal Georgia. We had a good time and managed to catch a few fish as well.
August Crappie and Bonus Footage
Просмотров 42819 часов назад
The weather is still so hot here at the end of August but I was itching to crappie fish. I went to the Ogechee River in Savannah and caught a few but I had a lot of bites. I included some really nice catches from Lake Weiss in May of big white crappie.

We had our August Tournament and it was a hot day but I managed 4 keeper speckled trout and and finished 2nd again. The Sound at Ossabaw Island was a little off color from the recent Tropical storm. I caught plenty of fish but the only ones I can weigh in were trout and one redfish.

Tammy fell and hurt her chin and arm in the pool so I have been cooking. Here is a great braised roast recipe and a walk around the yard after tropical storm Debbie.
Heat Advisory or Fish Advisory?

The 1st day of August was hot! But the fishing was too! However they were all small trout, redfish and black drum. The live shrimp on a float rig did the trick here in Savannah Georgia area on the Medway River.

Hot Hot Summer Tournament

I had a really hot day to fish in a tournament but still managed to catch a limit of speckled trout! The Medway River and Bear River are where I fished with live shrimp. I finished in 2nd place.

I love watching you relax on the water and I get to avoid the gnats and mosquitoes ❤😂
Them fish need to grow up! 😊
💙🔵💙
Gorgeous day!!!
Oh WOW thats a different boat.😮
Chris, if you ever get over here to Louisiana look up Old River, there's a map that shows the entire lake. Place off to the right of landing called the willows. Sac-a-lait big as frying pan. I promise!
When fishing on a lake, do you still have regulations of the number and the length of fish you can keep?
Yes we do
Looks like a beautiful place looks real peaceful
Do you have your own boat dock?
That was at some property Tammy's Dad owns
Chris you are a scream! You are as funny as can be!❤❤
Love it! Keep it up! #loveit #keepitup
When did u go to Alabama dad? lol
🙂
Former teacher here who quit the profession twice. I watch this video and it was only towards the end. When I realize this was filmed in 2018, before the pandemic. So the pandemic made these issues even worse than he says. Good luck and Godspeed to all those out there and braving it in the classroom.
Chris what are your thoughts on the school shooting in Winder? I just listen to Head Coach Mike. Lord, to be in his shoes right now...God make him strong for these kids.
I wonder how he got the gun into the school
Guys and gals watch your videos; enjoying your channel. Kim
its hard to describe those days. my old uncles and aunts was around born 1900 or so. they just didnt have much. From what i seen they went to church. And a get together with a big meal with alot of pies. Dixie!
My brother has ALWAYS had a crew cut.
Chris, you have inspired me to look up some mill history from a town I grew up in, Chico Ca. Early history in northern CA involved lots of lumber mills. Forests were regularly logged and logs driven to lumber mills for processing. The grammar school I walked to in the 60's was near one that was long since shut down, but kids still went there to goof around. It was interesting. Karla in Cali.
Enjoyed listening to the good old days but it worked
Sadly most of the mills closed down in my state, very few left, it was good jobs for whole generations. When they close it can devastate the whole town, taxes, small businesses, restaurants.
Fun times.
I love these old memories. Our town’s backbone was (and still is) a paper mill. It was first established in 1846 and remarkably is still going strong. My dad worked for Mead Paper. In those days you could go to work there, put in your years, and at the end of your working years, you drew a retirement pension directly from the company…. No 401s or self investing like we have to do today…. Something you didn’t have to think about. Life was so simple. I remember as a kid when talks of a “strike” would bring terror to our hearts. Not only would loss of income affect your family, but the entire community of small businesses because the Mill was the source of income for so so many families and the trickle down of people with not as much to spend would affect the entire community. People sometimes joke about the odor that paper making produces, but employees say it is the smell of money. The Mill has expanded, sized down, and went through many name changes with buyouts through the years, but it is still manufacturing paper and a profitable strong backbone to our area, along with all the numerous new plants and businesses that have found their way here. Dad would be pleased to know that now his granddaughter is an employee there, 3 generations later.
I born in Chattanooga in the mid 60’s and 70’s. My momma lived in Rossville as a kid! Great memories!
Hi Chris, my husband and I enjoy your videos. We live over the TN Ga line, close to East Ridge but we have a Rossville ga address. I graduated from East Ridge high school.
My momma lived in East Ridge too. 😊
Hey Chris, same type of memories for me too, except mine are with car factories here in Michigan. We still have some, but not like back in the day. 🏭
Thanks for the memories. I grew up in a little town in north Alabama,Carbon Hill. We had an Arrow shirt factory and before that we had a coal mine on each end of town. We had one Dr and he made house calls. My uncle was the barber. Yes, your video took me back to my childhood. Thanks.
Chris, did those towns have movie theaters? If not, where did the people go to see movies? Thanks for this interesting video.
A lot of them did
Hey from St Louis 😎😎
Hey Chris! Enjoy your talking vlogs. You're right - things have sure changed, and things are about to change again in November I suspect ....Scary. But GOD IS IN CONTROL! 🙏💛🙏
ikr? I'm terrified Trump will get back in, but God is in control.
TRUMP/VANCE 2024 MAGA 👊❤️🇺🇸🙏
Bananers for everyone!!!!!!!! LOL! Good times buddy. least this time we caught enough to make a video!. Cant believe you was able to catch the only glimpse we had of jaws. Good timing!
I edited it out I didn't want to scare anybody!
Did you ever watch Swamp People? No bananas in the boats. Bad luck. Looks like y’all are having fun.. Sure beats working. 😊❤
I honestly didnt know it was a thing. But after his reaction im gonna bring one everytime!!! hahahha!
@@marshplumber5163 That’s hilarious 😂. Love watching Chris’s retirement videos and him and Tammy’s cooking videos. That man can cook as good as Tammy if she’ll stay out of the kitchen and leave him alone. 😁
There is no 'right' or 'wrong' direction to whisk eggs...LOL You did a fantastic job.
Water is really calm for fishing. You’re smart to keep covered up, that sun does a lot of damage. Looks like a good time fishing.
I hear bananas are bad luck on a boat....if stuff happens, throw the plumber overboard...lol
easy ! lol! I didnt know the naner rule?
what a picture at 1:00...Wow, I would print that out and submit to a calander for Sept ..great shot. Chris you are cracking me up.
So nice to see people enjoying retirement.
😂😂😂 You guys were having entirely too much fun 😂😂😂 But seriously, I wanted to see that shark 🦈 🎣
What do you do catch n release
We will keep legal fish about once a month
Hogs and dogs, you told Tammy! Good times!😂
Fantastic view
Glad you had good day on the water. Keep fishing and eat grits.
the bonus footage, looks a different boat.
@@terrydaniels4137 it was that is an aluminum boat I have in Cedartown
What a beautiful day. The sky is gorgeous!
My son has been catching some slabs here in the East Texas area. We love crappie...best eating fish to me.
Hey Chris, man that fog was something else. To bad you didn't catch more fish. Just one of those days I suppose 😕
🇺🇸🙏🏻 I love to catch crappies. They will put up a good fight. But their mouth is so thin you can rip right through it. I do prefer cold water crappy for the texture. Looks like you’re having fun and that’s a good thing. Take care. Love y’all. ❤
Nice special effects!

Gooood evening from central Florida! Hope everyone has a great night! Some of my fondest memories fishing with my dad were crappie fishing on the docks at Perry lake in Kansas. I have no doubt dad is catching slabs up in the heavens just waiting for me to cook them.
Looks like a nice quiet place to fish
I'm trying to figure out how crappie is pronounced croppie 🤔 Anyway, good luck catching as many as you want 🎣 😊
