Home Free From the Vault Episode 8 is eight minutes of behind the scenes of filming this video near the gorgeous Austrian Alps. They've started the From the Vault series up again and just posted episode 25 for their video for Love Train.

Bull. They thought they won because they pulled her teeth, taking her rep, her voice, and her art, but they really made her even more dangerous. She goes to the gallows and then levitates down the street because she's haunting them. They think they won by killing her, but they released her to be even more powerful than ever before. Living people are limited by a single lifetime, but a ghost can haunt you forever. Just when you think you're safe because she's dead, she can show up anywhere and everywhere for eternity - no feeble fleshly limits to the trouble she can cause you. Pure righteous female rage. Gorgeous. She's right, too. They maybe won the initial minor skirmish, but she not only won the war by re-recording everything to reassert her rights, but those hit songs will last longer than all of the haters. They will haunt every jerk who hurt her repeatedly for as long as people listen to the songs. The background music in every mall or restaurant or elevator, the soundtrack for every movie or tv show, every artist who samples or covers or alludes to her. They will hear her beating them up in song everywhere they go from now on. They can't turn a corner or enter a room and not be a little concerned she might sing out her bullets without even needing to physically be there. Hint: we still listen to folk songs and gregorian chants created before printing presses. When i say music will outlast the haters, we're talking about centuries of proof here.

How many stories do you hear in the media about John Mayer that don't somehow lead to "Dear John?" Yeah, he used to be a big star, and now he will always be more famous as the jerk who hurt Taylor Swift than for anything else he ever does. Payback is a bitch. Writing from within a false persona eventually led to writing straight fiction. When you get to those songs, you'll see how this step was pivotal to the expansion of her writing prowess. So, with Taylor, always ask yourself if she is writing as herself, her false persona, or a fictional character. It helps to ground the rest of the analysis.
