CTA’s 1979-1983 Man Articulated bus review
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
In this video, we'll be reviewing the 1979-1983 Man Articulated buses. Of course, they were under three different years the 7000's series was 1979's the 7100's were 1983's and the 7300's were 1982's built and operated by Seattle Metro until 2001. This review took a lot of this to build since I had to look up all accurate information regarding these buses. These guys were ultimately Replaced by ...

Testing out a new air filter on the GAGT
Y’all I’m making a video coming November maybe about the pace bus
The Seattle Ones some of them were also at Kedzie Garage, I saw them on 156 LaSalle, 82 Homan/Kimball, 12-Roosevelt and 151 Sheridan (To Belmont)
Recording part it was on Route 311- Oak Park Ave. near 31st according to Announcement.
These looked so futuristic. They had some north of Seattle in Community Transit back in the day.
One of them is at the 103rd st garage
Australia still has a lot old MAN buses that look like and sound like this in preservation actually the engine sound at 1:52 was from a torrens transit man Sl202 cng bus 1 or 2 of them are in preservation
This reminds me of Nathaniel every time he says, "Oh ma shtomach bubblin"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Great video! These Mann artics remind me of the Orion III Ikarus articulated buses that Toronto’s TTC and Ottawa’s OC Transpo used here in Canada between 1985 and 2003. A similar design of that articulated bus was used in the US called the Crown Ikarus 286. If memory serves, they were used in Albany, Portland, Milwaukee, Honolulu and San Mateo County, California…
These buses are S tier for me as I grew up in LA
I remember these. I rode them on route 77 and 82 as a kid. I'll never forget the engine note, it was my favorite of all the CTA stock.
I hated the engine note of those buses, it freaked me out when i was a kid! But I really liked the bidirectional stairway at the front. Thank you for this trip back to my childhood, though!
One of my Childhood Buses. R.I.P. Pace Orion VI (2000-2018) U will never be forgotten.
The one that hit the Tree was working the 147, and according the one incident happened at Willow Springs while working the 169, that Construction around that area is STILL HAPPENING this Day due to La Grange Rd and I-294 Project, Construction been around for over 20 years now, probably another year or two to be completed.
Loved the 6400s. I rode them on the 62 archer my whole life.
I must be attempted to watch John Cena in the sound of the 222 Cena😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I remember those buses in the eighties.
Nice review I love those New Flyer Industries buses
Those two Ex CTA RTS buses are presumed scrapped by the way. 4901 is the only survivor.
North garage (Waukegan) was one of the last garages that had 2300s at their retirement in 2013
This is the first RTS model I have heard without the familiar RTS 'whine' riders and drivers are have known. These sound more like their Gillig Phantom or NF D40 contemporaries.
Those Orion I's looked old and antiquated even when they were new in the late 80's.
Does CN or CSX even use the Eldson north of Hayford anymore? Singletrack that's left from 71st Street going north towards 51st Street has so much grass growing it looks like it's been abandoned all the way up the high line through Chicago lawn
Nope since CN gave up trackage rights to CSX about 10 odd years ago most trains go to Hayford Junction and join the BRC. CN has one local transfer from Bedford Park to Markham via Kirk yard.
@@JGTVideos thanks I was wondering last time I came over there up 71st Street. I had to go down by Marquette Park about a month ago and knew even back in the 90s tore 1 up down to one track after they closed up Eldson yard. but it was so covered up like with grass and debris it made me wonder if they even use it or if they're going to just tear up the tracks eventually all the way from hayford north. Even now if you do a Google search of 71st and Central Park and look at it at 2023 or 2024 map and makes you wonder if they trains even come down that track anymore between hayford over to 51st.
@@truckerkevthepaidtourist I think they are just using that old single main line with the siding as a storage track now
@@railroadstud oh ok
These sound awesome thanks to the Series 50 engines that power them. IMHO the Orion 6 was the D40LF of Orion Bus Industries 😎
Man, I remember when they arrived on the 79th 8 and 8A.my aunt drove the 151 with the tmc.
Only every 100 years! (Started 2022)
I rode only two of the blue NABI's on the 353 in 2015 and one of the 2003 on the route.
As far as I remember the last I rode one of these was 6287 on Route 330 in August of 2020. These guys really did grew on me and to be honest I miss em a lot even with the issues they had
Whats the name of the intro song?
i aint gon lie brudda i luv da cummins L10 engine versions better i just thought sounds great it reminds of da new flyer de40lf 1000
I can't believe its been 15 years since these beasts have been retired. Lord have mercy time flies.
This sounds like bus number 4041
U haven't posted in 7 months 😢
Don’t worry I’m still making videos before Christmas comes around I’ve got plenty of great videos that you’ll love to see including complications of Old CTA and Pace buses going about their day in the works right now.
My favorite bus 126 Jackson
