Just a girl doing fun things. Or things that seem fun in retrospect. Type 2 fun.
142km hiking the Cape to Cape track in 4.5 days
8 of us set out to hike the 135+ km track from Cape Leeuwin to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouses on the western coast of Australia. We lost a few to injury but picked up some more friends along the way, ending up with 13 on the last day.
4.5 days, 4 nights on the trail. We stayed in two caravan parks and two free camps.
Day 1 Cape Leeuwin to Hamlin Bay 31km
Day 2 Hamlin Bay to Prevelly 40km
Day 3 Prevelly to Moses Rock camp site 26km
Day 4 Moses Rock to Mt Duckworth camp site 25km
Day 5 Moses Rock to Cape Naturaliste 10km
My first ever multi day hike and it was an amazing experience. The terrain is tough and the views are stunning. 10/10 recommend (but would recommend taking at least one more day 😂)

Fish tries FIFO
Просмотров 117 тыс.3 года назад
Fish (me!) does a FIFO swing on the mines in the North West of Western Australia (fly in fly out for those not familiar with the Aussie institution of flying in to remote areas to work at mining sites) It was a crazy whirlwind, and not much editing has been done on other projects but I'm back now and it certainly was an adventure! Was it a fun time? Mostly. Some hard work in tough conditions bu...

weekend getaway exploring the dam by 4x4 and on foot
Did it for ten years, to many rules and power trippin ego maniacs with 5 minutes experience wrecked it. Was a good number once. Argyle was orsom.
Congratulations. Looking at doing this in May. Loved hearing your comment “Look as though you are enjoying yourselves” 😂. Thinking of doing it as a 6 day hike at the moment. Your comments seem to back this idea up. Were you fine getting showers at the caravan parks? Transport - did you drive to start and finish and have a car at both ends or use busses? Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
6 days is definitely a better idea, it can be done in less in a time crunch but you get less time to enjoy the trail. Availability of showers and facilities were great. Depending on the time of year you will need to book in advance though. And the bush camps were lovely, definitely recommend at least one or two completely off grid camps, it's so peaceful. Good luck with your planning 🙂
We used a local service, left our vehicles at the end and got dropped to the start 👍
It’s good if you get the right work mates , but being stuck on a swing with Assholes for 2 weeks is no fun at all 😝
😂😂😂
Thanks for this! Doing the race in a month and wanted some more info 🫶🏻
Hope you have a great run!
Looks like GBO and B2 camp
i started shooing the flies as soon as you landed
Thank you 🙌
Try doing a exploration gig Living in a caravan
Don't miss FIFO life 1 bit ha-ha Enjoy!
The mines have caused more heartache than any amount of material wealth can compensate for. Grew up near coal mines, everyone is a miner in my family. You all should feel shame and embarrassment for giving your time and energy to the corrupt crappy companies that you get money from.
I'm sorry to hear that. It's tempting to give it all away and live in a van, but most of us have fully bought in to the 'Dream' I guess. Take care of yourself ❤️
Have. Fun. Staying. Poor. It's no different than working for ANY company, they do not care about you. Have a mercenary attitude and use them for your own benefit of improving things for yourself. Outside of mining the worst place to work is any place that says they're family and when you join, you become family..again..they don't give a shit about you. So it's the lessor of two evils, go FIFO for a bit to earn dollars, or work longer for someone else in the city.
@@patrickspaceman305 Yes patrick have fun with it 👌🏽
What type of work were you doing? what site was it?
Utilities so bus driving and assorted utilities around camp like emptying bins etc. Easy work!
All i did was scroll for the thumbnail 6:26
Hahaha. Gods work.
They keep getting better and better …
😍 Thank you momma
Woooow!! Beautiful Savuti, great memories about this jewel of a place..
So good, wish I was there right now 😍
Jerriwah village...im at B4 now...i know a few of the old drivers there now.
Hi Dean, im at B4 too 👍
I will see you tomorrow morning mate 👍
This looks like brockman 2 / nummaldi ? I worked at B 4 for a few years. Loved the Pilbara.
Jerriwa camp. The Pilbara really gets into your veins hey (and car, and clothes and everything else)
The good old Fokker 100 to the Pilbara
How good is fly out dayyyy
Sodexo is so shit iv done it for 5years and they all treat you like dogs for what you do
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
What a shit life... drug testing , hi vis ... sounds like 1984 .. Losers , start your own business and see you family and enjoy your life instead of being a slave.
Yeah I was a bricklayer..so I know which business worked for me
loved this!
Thank you!
Did it for 5 years and found more snakes in the office and machines than in the grass
Hahaha true that.
Underrated comment right there. Always some scandal happening involving a manager and an admin girl...names change, story remains the same...or it's a supervisor and some guy's wife.
Don’t you mean back stabbers
When the place has good food, makes all the difference. I went to a very remote place in Indonesia (not really FIFO) once, they had their own pharmacy fully stocked with a pharmacist for virtually any ailment, pretty wild and served fresh Sumatran food. Best food was in Karratha at one place, massive kitchens / cafeteria, top-notch, and a full bar, the accomodation was just your regular donga scenario, went there with Rio.
Oh jesus in karratha!!! Maybe you been lucky try port hedland
Good food, the key to all happiness 😁
You get out of doing FIFO work?
Yeah, I work in town now for more money so it doesn't make sense. Although I miss having someone cook me dinner every day.
stuff working i just stay on benefit
I love it Pen Raised City People drive around looking at animals taking pictures A real live camp out What next ?
Life is full of surprises! I mean look at you, standing on your soap box spouting sarcasm with no knowledge of the people or their experience outdoors... Hmm, an ignorant troll adding no value with a useless comment... What's next!
cool video, good on ya! (not meant to sound sarcastic lol)
Content!!!!!
Don't worry, I'll revert back to zero content soon. Nothing is as interesting as the FIFO vlog apparently.
@@adventurefuntimes201 Haha, so many people wanting to know what FIFO life is like.. (me too)...
Is it possible doing running while doing FIFO job?
Sure, but training for ultra distances requires some sacrifice, and so does shift work, so it can be tough!
Hi halo
FIFO people really don't understand your hourly rate is super low. You're literally working 24 hours Not 12 hours. Any time you arent free from work related stuff you're actually still working.
Then think about people who earn even half of your salary, but because you earn double for them life is way too expensive...
Bit of a generalisation there mate. I'm not on Salary & my hourly rate is nearly double of my last job. Been working in QLD mines for 8 months & I've had enough though. Work culture here is so backwards. Everyone out for themselves & they will throw the contractors under a bus to save themselves in the blink of an eye. I struggle to sleep out here & miss my own bed so much. You get more days off but my friends & family are at work most the time & I'm that drained from the swing I don't do much really. This is only my experience, alot of people do love it. I just think in the end money isn't everything.
Yearly wage..and it's better than most with free food...when I was in my 20's I would of worked for the food alone.. because I didn't have to pay for it
@emp731 yeah the money you save on food, electricity bill at home becomes alot lower, fuel driving to & from work. It all adds up as alot of extra savings too.
Mining, dividing families & communities since the 1900s 👌🏽
Fifo just like prison
FIFO is only like prison if you have a weak and mailable mind.
No seafarer are in prison lifestyle.. You are still free on land
the city is a prison.millions paying for their glorified prison.
i was fortunate and got to do FIFO on the tool for 3 years, respect to all the boys and girls who are their away from family and grinding everyday.(and middle finger to those holiday makers who don't know what they are doing there and putting us in risks and to those labour hires who hire them and fly them out)
What ever you do. Don't take your phone out while on the tarmak in a FIFO situation.
The for what reason ?
@@Mick_4591 You are comprising your job.
Good old brockman love it here
I clean for a retirement place love to do that love nz
The car your mum drives is massive but great to see someone with good skils. Seen your work mining video recently, great stuff. You are goreous as your mum said at the end of the video. Im impressed as you mentioned to the guy running with extra weight on him. Wow, magnificent. Wish it was easy coming across people liek yourself. Taake care
Thank you! You're too lovely. Have a great day 😊
Good footage of Brockman pity you work for a 💩 company.
Lovely pool
Looks just like a minimum security prison!
after 20 years, it feels like it too :(
Couldnt of said it better myself, i cant say from personal experience but im told Jail food is much better haha...+10 years of working away in the mines and i can say with out a doubt in my mind that it was an experience and a half, some bloody good mates made but NEVER will i do it again, lifes far to short to be away from mates n fam for that long-they were meant to be the best years of my life
Loved this!!!! You're a star xxx
Good on ya hun... it's not for everyone but it usually lures ya back
What will be the best company to work for in fifo work?
No one 😂
@@KoDeMondo Correct.
Maybe you should look for another fifo job sodexo is getting a bad name
Sodexo sux.cleaners are thieves and the slop they serve is shit

Well done thank you
Thank you' nice vid
Remember to take your muzzle off when yah eat 👍
Do yah have to be jabbed to go and work fifo?
Yep
No u dont
Of course..
Hey there. What is the best entry level job in the mines where you don't need any experience, except I'm in warehouse and logistics so there would be opportunities there? However is there much scope there for high pay in that area?
Peggy
High pay for salary but high pay for rent 😂😂😂
