I feel so sad watching this because it makes me miss my childhood. Just the innocence of it all and wondering what it would be like to grow up. Having something to look forward to and being excited about new discoveries. It doesn't feel the same anymore but this montage gave me a few minutes of being young again ❤

boils down to pen and paper...or celluloid...older anime is actually real, physical media, that exists in it's entirety somewhere. Hell i have a frame from the original Zeta Gundam on my wall at home. Nu anime is soul less because it literally does not exit in the real world. There are literal pieces of hair, flakes of skin, drops of sweat in the frames of old anime, the creators are physically part of the final product. You cannot recreate that vibe with digital no matter how hard you try.

Ironically with Ai this style of animation might come back, because CG got so prevalent because it requires less animators. But Ai can eventually replicate hand drawn anime in CG.
