    Fortunately. We have now new (real) president, no fat undemocratic pro-rusisian pig like before (two years ago) who has imposed pointless controls in Prague Castle. You dont have to stand pretty long line to go through the security anymore. Castle entrance is now absolutely free with no controls. Mordor is gone. Thanks to God.

    I know I am late to the party - Lived in Sasebo in the 90s. The towers are the radio towers used in WWII to communicated with the south pacific. The US wanted to bomb those towers and the harbor and instead bombed Nagasaki. If it had been the other way around we might have bases in Nagasaki now and talk about Sasebo like it's a bomb site. During the war Sasebo pumped out over 10 (can't recall exact number) ships a month for the war. I want to move back. Maybe I can start a channel and just talk about Sasebo and the Kyushu area. Your videos are fun and make me realize I got out but not like you all did. Well done!

    I remember as a Marine stationed at The Marine Barracks, those Navy Wives would come in droves from Base Housing, when their hubbies deployed lolol. They would show up at that Club on Base, right underneath the Marine Corps Barracks. Oscar Seven would be BUSY as hell on those nights and weekends. Buzzing Navy Wives through the Gates in our barracks on the quarter deck and running them in and out like a Train Station, OH wait, there were trains, Choo Choo. That's the 90's for you. Especially 90-93, it was a F*CK Fest in those barracks, GREAT TIMES in Naples.

    Is on base housing in Naples available to senior civilian (GS-15) employees? If so, what type of housing…single family, duplex, etc….Or do they have to obtain off-base housing? It’d be for my wife and I’d be accompanying her as a dependent/spouse.

    We lived on the Support Site when I was a kid from 2001-2005 (8-12 years old) while my dad was in the navy. All the kids had so much fun roaming the base on our bikes and swimming/playing sports at Carney Park. 3 Doors Down and Toby Keith performed on base. We visited all the popular tourist spots in Italy. We had a blast in Naples!

    I see you have a dog! I’m considering ranking NSA Naples highly for my next assignment. What do you do with your dog when you travel off base for a weekend?

    • @MaggieontheMove
      @MaggieontheMove Год назад

      There are lots of dog sitters. When we lived on Support Site we normally dropped her at another apartment for a dog sitter to watch her and now that we’re off base we have a great dog sitter that comes to our house. There are also kennels if your dog is comfortable with that. Our isn’t friendly with other dogs so we prefer to have someone stay at our house.

    • @MaggieontheMove

      We booked the apartment on booking.com and the price fluctuations on the season so it just depends on what time of year you’re going. And there are a series of Gondolas up to Glacier paradise not trains.

    Hi, I plan to PCS there with my fiance. Are you able to live comfortably overseas on military pay and how are you able to travel as much as you do off the pay?

    • @MaggieontheMove
      @MaggieontheMove Год назад

      Hi! I would say we live comfortably while being stationed overseas! But it’s all relative. We don’t have any kids, no debt, and we were dual income up until 1 year ago. Everyone is in a different place so it’s hard to give a blank statement. We found that we saved more money being overseas because our bills were significantly less (due to having to live on base). As for travel, being overseas cuts out a huge expensive of actually getting to where you want to go! Flights in Europe are under $50 a lot of the time. We also utilize 4 day weekends so were not taking long expensive 2 week trips or anything.
