Hard men and Faces abound as we travel the Sweeney streets from Kensal to North Kensington - bumping into assorted other dodgy characters as we go. There's a load to get through in this video so I do rabbit on ten to the dozen at times; but remember there will also be a 'companion guide' of side-by-side still shots to go with it at some point, for those that prefer to contemplate the details in...

There's a lot to pack into this video so it's quite fast-paced; feel free to hit the old pause button from time to time if you want a breather! Hope you enjoy it.

Is there any chance that someone like Transport for London would give you a bloody great financial grant to digitally recreate 1970's London? You are doing a public service. I've no idea how you figure out some of the locations. Well done!

interesting you mention the episode contact breaker, as the opening of that episode where Reagan gets out of his car and goes into the bank was filmed in Hatch End, quite a distance from the usual locations.

There was a nearly perfect shot by shot remake of opening credits of the American 1980s private eye series that took place in San Diego, California; "Simon & Simon" (Starring Gerald McRaney and Jameson Parker) with Mad Men star Jon Hamm and Parks & Rec star Adam Scott. Has a kickass opening song. It is spectacular.

I miss the open roads, lack of street furniture and the old Routemasters. In short, the freedom... And, as you say, the chances of seeing a bobby on the beat around here these days are miniscule.
