TANSTAAFL: While I can understand a lifelong artist having strong feelings about AI art, it's not the easy button people think it is. Sure you can easily churn out obvious/bad stuff in high volume, but to get anything good and/or specific you're still subject to the skill+luck/time equation, just in a different format. Like most tech, it's a lever not a magic wand. Give it a year and people are going to start to grok that...or we will be up to our asses in NHPs 😂

Great podcast, guys! Very interesting book! lol always make up rules and monsters. It the only way to play! lol all these new races I’m sure is going to please anyone who loves to read fantasy smut 😝. I know many people who would derail adventures just to add Minotaur/mermaid romance arcs. The mermaid race would be fascinating if you did a full on underwater campaign. I wonder what fun encounters you could craft for that. Also seems like you guys want to both play a Monster Hunter campaign, and one where you are sentient woodland animals (seems the ROOT RPG and Wanderhome would be up your alley!). As a red seal chef I’ll happily contribute to the Pathfinder cookbook!

I’ve actually really fallen in love with this TTRPG. I’m getting ready to use it to run an Armored Core inspired game, and the setting has so many similarities to AC that it’s been effortless!

lol Delicious in Dungeon slaps! Definitely has a fresh take on the genera, and as a cook I appreciate the imagination of the food made! Damn! Sounds like you had fun at Origins! That must have been wild! lol. So if you cats like Dominion and Legendary, you should try CLANK! (Or CLANK! Catacombs, or CLANK in SPACE!). It’s a dungeon dash to loot as much treasure as possible and get out as fast as possible. The cards you buy to build your deck are also your actions (like movement and fighting monsters) it’s actually my wife’s favorite game! lol I’ve never thought about Saturday morning cartoons as inspiration, but I am now! Also, I got Blades in the Dark as a Father’s Day gift, so I’m tearing into that!

Love these episodes! They do give me lots of ideas! My claim to fame was using a Barricade and Spectre in tandem. The Barricade would carve up the map and force PCs to be isolated. My other claim to fame was my “highway chase” through the middle of a city. Two snipers were on the rooftops of a couple high rise buildings and added that sweet sweet tension. An epic moment where the Atlas pilot (who had the snipers mark) asked “Wait, can I jump through a window and break line of sight!?” And I of course said “yes!”. Cue the cinematic scene: the Atlas running down a freeway at 60 kmh and has the laser painted on them. The pilot looks to the left and sees his reflection on the building’s window. He stops running for a moment, feet digging into the pavement, and then acrobatic leaps through the window just as the ground evaporates from an anti-material round. They start running through an office, cubicles and patricians not even hindering the Atlas’s movement. After making it to the other side of the building, a swipe of the Terashima blade cleaving a hole in the wall, and then a leap out the other side. Several stories off the ground he dive’s before he begins to free fall. Kroil Rifle fires and Panzer Kunst allows the Atlas to parkour and leap up the top of the building to engage in melee with the sniper. lol it was a moment!

I would love an episode covering all the templates and stuff!

Other fun NPC combos! The Bombard does extra damage to enemies if they are grouped up. The Specter does extra damage to enemies who are alone. Make your players pick their poison.

I suspect a mysterious benefactor is the Illusive Man, and I would absolutely believe he put a clone of himself in Andromeda

And dudes you gotta play Blades it's phenomenal. Just like a 5-10 session arc to let the level up system stretch its legs and some consequences come back to bite you. Phenomenal game, legit fun to DM too

Solid combo I stumbled upon in a game was with a Rainmaker and a Cataphract. Rainmaker deploys Javelin rockets in a line near a player, and them the cataphract can lasso and drag that mech through the rockets. Synergy baby.

Love these videos! I always appreciate hearing the chatter about how the NPCs can be used in different ways. For the final chapter of my Lancer campaign, Scourers were the de facto enemy. The first mission had the players trying to hijack a doomsday device from Harrison Armory. The Scourers were, rather than targeting the players mechs were attacking the players Dropship (needed to complete said hijacking, and was immobile). Which changed the tenor of the fight do a defensive mode. lol my Goblin player delighted in overheating the Scourers. If schedule works out, I’d be happy to GM a Lancer game! I’ve got a MSMC game all lined up! Just make sure you have eye protection and PPE. My radiance is overwhelming for some!

I ran a one shot of RotR in 2E (which was basically the Swallowtail Festival opening), so it’s great to hear what happens next! lol Similarly, I have a blind spot for names, so other than Sherif Hemlock, I changed the name of most of the NPCs 😝 I look forward to hearing more of your adventures ESPECIALLY when you get to the Dance Off boss fight on the Suspension Bridge over Rovagugs prison! I can’t wait to hear how you bypass the Iron Golem bouncers and get around the Pit Fiend DJ who plays the (the book says it’s EDM, but I always imagined it as DubStep) music of Madness! There is that part where the players are in Magnamar and have to retrieve the Queens girdle from the Mongrel Men perverts (just calling them what they are). I think that would be a good part to have the Familiars go off and do the adventure away from the PCs Oooops, I should have put a Spoiler Warning…. My bad.

Huh, I remember when SF first came out that Gorum wasn’t there… that was a spell ago. It is cool in the cosmology of PF that a domain is like a medal. It can be awarded or taken away. New classes seem pretty cool! I’m hoping to pick up some of the new books when I get my Tax Return. Also, who here is going to making Guardian Bob or Guardian Enzo? (Too deep a cut?) Also I need to crash one of your streams and share my latest Lancer and Monster of the Week games. (lol I got a pity re-roll because RNJeasus was cursing me. An attack with Gandiva Missles at +2 accuracy, and somehow all dice came out as 1s!)

I made a point to use every NPC mech, and yeah, they all become quite memorable. Different combinations and mods make even Assault mechs unique. I really like how they did this NPC reference. Here is a GM tip for you: make sure you take a photograph of all the mech stats, and any extra rules. That way you can flip between them between turns!

Based on the conversation about the success partial success and failure Id say yall definitely should play a few sessions of Blades In The Dark (if you haven't already, this episode is old) It completely changed the way i approach running games, and i had already run several other ttrpgs

Great episode, but I have to address the elephant in the room: you cats have never watched Star Trek!? This cannot stand! Start with season two of The Next Generation. DS9 is pretty hit or miss, but Avery Brooks leads an awesome cast of characters. Watch it with a grain of salt, but after season three it’s a banger. Union is very well inspired by the Federation, not to mention ideas like sub-space may have also inspired Blink. The character of Data also has influenced the Androids. I won’t go on….. but I could! Narrative Ship combat sounds dope! I’d 100% use that in my game! I do have a SF campaign started, but likely won’t see the light of day until the second edition comes out!

Getting the feeling I will need to build Starfinder into Arc 4 or 5 of our campaign...

Spaceship combat makes sense from tying into Pathfinder remastered and challenges are based on rounds of successes. I don't know the version that you guys know to compare the two though
