Watched this and the question has been raised about where he is when he's on the phone. You can hear a card dealer, there are men in suits stood/sat around, there are nice ladies and it's early in the morning. In the sopranos you see a scene where there is an all night card game which goes into the next day. It doesn't look as clean as this but I like to think that's where he is, an all night mafia card game, and that he's so sharp he can pull an all nighter drinking and gambling and still go and deal with the bonnie situation. The only thing that throws all that into doubt is the old lady sat at the table with the perm.

To everyone who says this scene is impossible: Westin Bonaventura in Downtown Los Angeles: 404 S Figueroa St. Jimmy's house in Toluca Lake: 4145 Kraft Ave. It's 1 mile on the 110, 10 miles on the 101. At 08:39, that's 24 minutes, plus 6 minutes elevator & valet. Wolf is on the street in 2 minutes. To hit 7m50s, he averages 84 mph, so his target speed is 120 mph. In most cars, that's not feasible. In an NSX, it is absolutely feasible.

I've never understood the scene where the Wolf is on the phone. Perhaps someone can explain it. My question is: where is he? He's in a private bedroom adjacent to a room containing people in eveningwear at 8:40am in the morning. We know it's 8:40am because of The Wolf's watch and the fact that the clock over Jimmy's head in the "coffee in the kitchen" scene previously placed the time as just after 8:15am. (25 minutes in the past) So what exactly is going on where The Wolf is? You can distinctly hear a man say "place your bets" at 0:10 in the scene. You hear it again at 0:27. You also hear the man say "The bank wins" The only thing I can figure is that this place is some sort of underground brothel/gambling parlor. The woman on the sofa flirting with the man in the foreground lends some credence to it. But the couple at the table apparently gambling in the background look like they are retirees so maybe this isn't a brothel? I've never understood this scene or what's going on in it.

On one hand, Jules and Vincent only need to use their common sense and initiative to start cleaning the car and themselves as fast as they could. They did not need someone to give them detailed instructions. But on the other hand, you got to remember that these two are not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. Especially Vincent who is such a fuck up. They would not even be in this situation had it not been for his stupidity. Add to that Jules and Vincent are at each others throat with all the stress and might have well just killed each other. The Wolf is there to give a calm commanding presence to direct them out of that shitty situation. He is the one thinking straight. Think of him as the project leader of a team who is struggling to meet a deadline.

He has no problem throwing that word around. Why is he so obsessed with it?
