Thank you for the content, particularly the proxmox stuff. Switching from Vsphere and veeam to proxmox, which is a big project and probably take me at least a few more months. The one issue I'm running into is when converting from vmware to proxmox, the setting up of qemu-guest-agent, but also the virtio drivers etc. for example, trying to now get a win11 guest vm imported into prox, enabling qemu and also changing from sata0 to be scsi0 and using the virtio driver's. I've got the qemu, virtio drivers installed in the proxmox guest, but unable to successfully change from sata0 to be scsi0 and still be able to boot. I may have to install those windows guest VMs completely from scratch in proxmox.

If you are putting this on one ssd, should one partition the drive ahead of time to put the OS on one part (say 150g) and then have the rest for containers..or perhaps a third part for data. Or should you do it all on the same drive ? Or perhaps do the partitions after installing proxmox?

When I got my first Homelab I decided to install Proxmox, but it turns out that its was too much for most Homelab Scenarios unless you're running something complex or multiple VMs. TrueNAS Scale will surely do everything you need + has Dockers.

Is there any functional way to have it reverse proxied with a domain? I managed to set it up all fine, webpage world loads, forwarded the port, and I can access it with the IP and port. However, I was wondering since I am using Cloudflare and Nginx (I tried with both of them), how can I map it to a functional subdomain in order not to give the IP address. As for how I tried to use the proxies, inside the server I created a hostname or proxy host for the same IP and the port that it is on. It loads a bit long, but then it gives fail message, as if I am right there but not quite. Would love a video from you explaining this topic man. Thank you!

I can't see what you clicked on in order to get the adguard template to show up. You kinda say where to go but not really. For someone who has never done anything like this, you have to show every step, even the obvious one. Can you please explain what website you went to to copy an url that brought up the adguard container template thingy? Also where are you inputting that url? Thank you

Not sure but I just got mine and set it up with 2 of there WAVLINK AX3000 WiFi 6 outdoor extenders (note I did notice my firmware is newer than the ones the have on there website.) which they all connected with out me touching anything, all I had to do was reset the first one (only because I had them connected to a NetGear RAX80 before I got the Mighty LX2 ) because it was in router mode, and once I didi all 3 paired up. It threw me off because I did have some problems connecting the two before. With that said, its real hard to get a hold of them, I mean they do pick up there phone but you loose connection or w/e. Their website chat is always offline. I have to say my signal around my 5 archer place is great!!! But the lack of any real manual or any real help sucks. I love it and hate it at the same time. Can anyone explain the turbo button... like where can you see it's active? no led? no radio button inside there wanna be software? ....yes I know what it does, just odd you don't know if its on or not unless you test it. Anyways, thanks for the review.

Hey, how doni fix dns not reachable when I try to update the list?

For some reason I keep getting "IPV4 Internet not connected" and "No Internet detected, would you like to continue anyway?" I've tried on 2 proxmox servers on 2 different networks, using DHCP and manually assigning an address. Both wireguard installs can ping google.com so I don't get the deal with the no internet message.

The first thing you want to do is set a Static IP address for your NAS and not use the default setting of DHCP. If you leave it on DHCP every time it automatically reboots for a ADM (OS) update you might get a different IP address assigned and throw off all your assigned network pathing. Once you set a Static IP the network pathing to the NAS will remain the same.

Shame about the lack of LXC support. How is this better than running a proxmox backup server and having everything available in the proxmox console?

I've been using veeam free community edition "10 licenses" for 6 yrs in my vshere lab. A guest vm with a backup job uses 1of the 10 licenses , a physical server with a backup job uses up 3 of the 10, and physical workstation or laptop used 0.3 of a license. I have three installations of community edition, for up to 30 guest VMs with backup jobs. But really i only backup about 20 VMs using scheduled backup job, two physical Linux servers and threw physical laptops. The rest of my VMs i do occasional full, unscheduled backups using veeamzip I run each veeam server itself in their own guest VMs on my esxi host. "Backup Jobs"are nice because they can be incremental, deduplication, and scheduled or even launched via more advanced scheduler such as Windows own scheduler. But each vm uses 1 of the 10 licenses on the free community edition. However, if your wanted just a full non scheduled backup you have unlimited backups via veramZip, no cap. But they aren't incremental and they can't be scheduled in veeam (possibly can in Windows scheduler though i bet). You can install as many community editions been servers as you want. A guest vm backup job only uses 1of the 10 licenses of community edition. But you can have as many backup jobs as you want for that vm it's just the count of the VMs that use up the licenses, not the count of backup jobs Anyway, I'm moving away from vmware and moving to proxmox. I'm happy that veeam works pretty much same with prox as it did with vmware, but i think I'll use proxmox own backup services going forward instead of veeam.
