Jackson did awesome❤
Love the beach walk We are 2 hrs from the coast of Massachusetts ❤ My son David has a home in Rye NH and it’s a mile from the shore have a beautiful day❤
Love the scarf❤
Never had a problem with holes in my heel I always do the cuff down reinforced heel turn sl st ,k) and gusset socks
GM Lynda just wanted to come on and tell you what fun the Wise Hilda’s Triangle Shawl is to make got up early and started right away wow I love it, although I won’t use it now, we are in Florida for the winter, but when we get home to Western Massachusetts , I know I can still wear it for a month or more, also making more of these for Christmas presents have a wonderful day ,you are so appreciated by me thanks again love your podcast…..❤
So cute! Love the color!
Your snow is so pretty! … Beth’s story reminds me of my childhood (the part about all the girls sharing a room).
Where did you find the double hat pattern would love to make one❤
Hi Lynda so glad you posted the Little scarf pattern I am so excited to scarf great Christmas gifts❤stories are so fun
That definitely looks like an eagle! Just beautiful.
Hari OM Such pretty winter scenes to add poignancy to the tale of the empty nester... I appreciated the juxtaposition of seeking quiet time in a busy family home, versus the desire for a little of the 'busy-ness' once quite becomes the norm. Your oversize hat is actually rather comfy looking and suits you very well - a proper winter topping! I need to have a go at scarves instead of ponchos and shawls, which have now started to overtake my wardrobe... YAM xx
I am now trying to find a nice balance of appreciating my quiet times with getting more socially engaged. I love ponchos! They keep you warm but are comfortable to wear.
When you read the part about the Zippo lighter, I was immediately filled with memories of my own father. 🥰
Yes it’s interesting how such little things can trigger long ago memories.
I’d been lamenting the fact that my Dollar Tree no longer carried yarn, as I saw your lovely chenille scarves during Vlogmas. I’m not sure why it never occurred to me to check with another location, as even in our small town, there are multiple Dollar Trees. I was thrilled recently to discover this yarn at a different store location. Unfortunately, they only had hot pink, but I’ll be checking back there periodically. Like many of your viewers, I could relate somewhat to Beth’s situation. I’m not alone, still having my husband with me, but after spending a quiet Christmas, I’ve been reflecting lately how busy, and noisy, our home once was. At the time the kids were young and living under our roof, I’d long for a few hours of quiet to myself. Now, I’d gladly trade these quiet hours to once again hear children’s laughter, or even arguing, ringing down the halls. Your stories leave me wanting more!
The Dollar Tree is hit or miss for sure. I wonder if you can order online? I like the quiet sometimes. But not having Ross, is such a change. He was a talker. And I loved our conversations and his stories. I’m trying to get up the courage to investigate the knitting club here in this community. So scary! I’ll let you know.
@ I understand what you mean about the quiet without Ross. My husband is the talker and storyteller in our relationship. Considering that he’s fifteen years older than me, I realize that increases the odds of him leaving first, and I do not relish the idea of that kind of quiet. Linda, I do hope you decide to visit the knitting club! Think of it this way, you’re an experienced and talented knitter. You could bring much to the table that could benefit others. Who knows? You may even make a new friend or two.
you should put your blog address up under your show notes
Thank you for the suggestion. Good idea. I’ll do that next time.
Lynda i enjoyed the way you read the story, playing in the background with the images on the screen and how the birds matched in line. Even in worsted weight, the Musselborough hat seems like a lot of work ugh, but you did it and it looks warm for sure.
Thank you Ophelia. I’m glad you enjoyed the story. The Musselburgh hat is a challenge for a couple of reasons. It’s a little tricky to get started, the sizing, and then the tons of stockinette. But if you get it right it’s a pretty neat hat.
I tried to knit a musselburgh hat and gave up after it was turning out way too big. Yours looks nice.
Hi Linda. I have had a couple of successful goes at the Musselburgh hat. And a few fails. It’s an interesting design, though.
I hope you're having a nice day too Lynda. The hat looks great on you! It's such pretty colors. I loved all your scarves...thanks for sharing and inspiring. And thank you for sharing Beth's story. Yes, it's hard here too with a quiet house now that our children are grown and married. Lovely to share your company and know that others have the same feelings. Hope to see you soon.
Thank you Patricia. I appreciate the quiet most of the time. I am a little worried that I will become too insular. Instinctively I don’t think that would be very healthy, even for an introvert like me.
@@JoeysScarf I am in the same boat, thinking that way. It's great that you get out for walks. I very much enjoy my almost daily walks. Thanks for taking us along with you. Take good care
Beautiful knitting Lynda ,wow I could feel the quietness ,empty nest of Beth's life ,we spend a lot of life rushing around busy ,I'm now at the stage of slowing down enjoying the peace and quiet but do miss the full house of noise as the kids are grown and so busy with their new lives too .Happy new year to you xx
Thank you, Sylvia. Hope you are nice and settled in your new space. Now as I have the quiet, I often wonder if the fast pace of my younger years was worth the sacrifice of not stopping to, you know, smell the roses, as they say.
I love the colors in your Musselburgh hat. Like Beth, I was a reader, too.
Thank you Patsy. My favorite thing to do was to get lost in a book. I won the prize for reading the most books when I was in fourth grade. 😊 Now I can’t sit still long enough to just read. I listen to audio books instead. That’s why I like knitting so much. I can knit and listen or watch tv.
Another thought out story. I, like Beth sit and think about family long gone and family that are busy living their lives. I wonder if my family will do the same when I'm long gone. ❤
Thank you Dorothy. I suspect most people reminisce. Especially once their loved one is gone.
The simple little scarves are a comfort knit. I plan to make the Sophie hood next, with hopes to gift a few to local youth shelter. I was again very quickly drawn into your story and was left wanting to hear the next part. Your description of the sounds of the Dad's lighter took me back in time. Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year Lynda.
Hello Bee. Ohh I just saw the Sophie hood. I am thinking I might make one too. It is neat looking. I think it’s good to write about our memories. I wish I had that kind of information about my grandparents.
Your story brought me back in time, but also allowed me to sit in the moment with Beth in the quiet.
Thank you Bette. Writing does that for me. An exploration of memories and feelings.
It's good to see you today. The knit hat is beautiful. I like your scarf too. I sometimes prefer narrower scarves. I lived in Maine many years ago. The wider scarves would be most appropriate. I enjoyed the Beth short story. I'm glad you finally got the video uploaded. Stay safe and warm. Blessings 🙏🏼😇❤️
Thank you for visiting. It’s pretty cold here today in New Jersey. Even though I will probably stay in, I’ll still have a scarf around my neck. I’m happy you liked the story. It’s helpful for me to write. It’s amazing what feelings and realizations surface when I do.
Ooh, what a cliffhanger!
I love this Lynda ,I remember a story you wrote in your blog about the lady on a bench with the red scarf ,I often wondered what happens next .You must write more ,your stories are captivating,Thank you for sharing with us ❤xx
Hello Sylvia, thank you for watching. I’ll have to go back to my blog and re-read the red scarf story. Thanks for remembering 😊
Thank you for sharing!! ❤
Bravo I closed my eyes and your words painted the pictures in my mind. A cliffhanger ending leaving me with questions. The images i saw, the questions i have show me you have a real talent for writing. I've known this since i first started following you when you started podcasting. I went to your blog and was amazed at your talent. Thankyou for sharing another one of your talents here. Regards Dorothy from Australia
Oh thank you Dorothy. ❤️
I think you are a talented writer. Thank you for having the courage to share with us. I enjoy listening to you narrate your stories.
Thank you. I wrote these so many years ago and when reading them again, I find them to be such novice writings. But I remember how engaged I was in attempting the challenge.
Lynda. That was a good beginning. I would definitely like to hear more about Angie. Looking forward to Beth.
Thank you!
Did he die or did he leave her? Inquiring minds want to know. 😊
Perhaps the end of the story is up to your imagination 😊
Interesting story. I wanted to hear more!
Thank you.
I need to know what happens! Thank you for sharing your writing. I always enjoy reading your blog. 🥰
Thank you Sally.
Lynda, you seriously need to move beyond short story beginnings. I’m totally hooked and NEED to know what happens with Angie! 😳 Oh, and your calendar is a day ahead of mine. It’s only December 29th here, lol.
@@Rennagayle Thank you, Renna! And oh my goodness, I am a day ahead! Maybe I’m in a hurry to get this year over with.
@ Aren’t we all!
Hari OM Crikey... there's a film in that seed!!! I used to do the A-Z challenge but haven't for the last three years... maybe I should think about it again. I love that we're going to hear from you for another flow of vids! YAM xx
Well I don’t know about a film, lol Yes I did like the A-Z challenge. It was certainly a good motivation to write.
Hi Kynda, I am not a writer either but your story is very good and kept me in suspense wanting to know what happens next! Thank you for sharing! 🎉Happy New Year 2025 🎉
Thanks! I’m glad you liked the story. Happy New Year!
What a beautiful creative outlet you have been gifted with! I can’t wait to hear more!!
Thank you so much for watching and listening. It’s very encouraging.
@@JoeysScarfI look forward to each and every episode! What a surprise it was to see The Dave hat which was designed by a fellow Calgarian that I have met at our local yarn store - such a small world! Leanne knit this hat for her hubbie. She is a flight attendant for Westjet and she also has a RUclips channel called The Knitty Stew. I urge you to check her out. If you start from the beginning you will find out a little bit about her and she usually podcasts from her hotel while on a layover and more often than not gives you history about the Canadian cities she travels to - having met her, she is a true gem inside and out!!! enjoy!! Michelle 😊
@ Thank you Michelle. That’s interesting about the designer of the Dave Hat pattern. I will check out her RUclips channel.
Now I want to know what happens next with Angie.
Thanks for the motivation to finish the story.
You had me hanging on every word. Looking forward to Beth. Thanks for sharing.❤️👵Sally
Thank you Sally!
Hi Lynda, I look forward to hearing more. 😊 Thank you 🙏🏼❤😇
Thank you for watching.
Hi Grandma, happy new year eve eve!
Hi Jackson! Happy NYEE to you to! 🥳
Hari Om - yup, it's been hosepipes here at The Hutch too... and I got the hook and yarn working! YAM xx
Yay, YAM! I see beautiful makes in 2025 for you!
Hi Grandma!
Hey No. 1 fan. ❤
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family! Happy New Year, too! Thank you for doing Vlogmas. It was so nice to visit with you each day. Great video of the eagle. Take care! 🥰
Thanks for watching, and Happy New Year, Sally!
I love your poadcasts keep doing them take care of yourself.Love from Greece.
Thank you, Maria!
Merry Christmas! ❤
Lynda, I agree. That definitely looks like an eagle. I remember your first podcast. I didn’t realize it had been so long ago.
Hello Patsy! So much has happened in that seven years since I did my first podcast. Even though there were many difficult times, there were also lots of good and happy memories. Happy New Year to you!
Hi Lynda, An Eagle in flight is so majestic. We don’t always get to see such a magnificent bird. I believe it’s a Christmas gift to you from nature. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas! 🎄 🎅
Being able to see that eagle in flight, I feel that I did receive a gift from nature. Thank you for visiting my Vlogmas this year. Happy new year!
@ I wish you good health and a Happy New Year ! Hoping to see more podcast with your makes in the coming year.
Hari OM Gracious, yes, that's a Bald Eagle - the national bird of the USA! Loved the flashback at the start, too. Have a lovely time, Lynda. See you on the other side. YAMxx
Thank Yamini for visiting my Vlogmas each day. I did feel a little bit of wonder that I got to see the eagle.
Most definitely an eagle, how cool! My late husband’s mother was full blood Italian. Oh, how we loved having Christmas dinner at her house. She’d make a huge pot of ‘gravy’ with meatballs, Italian sausage, and some other kind of meat in it, and of course, a big bowl of pasta. She also always cooked a big pan (big family!) of veal Parmesan. I miss those days. I wish you a very merry Christmas, and a joyous time of celebrating with your family!
Thank you Renna for coming each day to my Vlogmas! It wouldn’t be Christmas in this family without Italian gravy. By the way, it was pretty delicious 😋 Happy New Year.
Merry Christmas ❤️👵Sally
Merry Christmas, Sally!
