I just ordered an E-Storia for my Stumpy EVO, with a WRP yoke, and Cascade link. I'm 100% confident I made the best choice with going EXT.
When engineers overthing too much they forget minor details as a oring for sag measure, it is too much to ask or it is a weight saving feature?
Just bought one waiting for it to be delivered
is it recommended to use the same inflation process (filling the ++ chamber first) with the era fork too?
Correct, the ++ chamber must always be inflated first, also in ERA V2 fork!
My shock pump that came with the Aria exploded when filling the ++ chamber 🤬
@OldSnake47 from what I've experienced, anytime you have a suspension component with two positive chambers, be it fork or shock; you always inflate the secondary additional positive chamber first. I had an Öhlins RXF36 EVO fork on my last bike, a 2017 Transition Patrol, and they recommended the same order of operations. Whenever I wanted to tune the spring rate I would fully deflate all chambers. Then attach my hose to the valve at the bottom of the right side fork lower. They recommend this for several reasons but from what I gather the most important reason is that if you and play the main positive chamber first you will lose some of the stroke and won't get the full amount of travel out of fork.
Now make a version that I can change the stroke at home and not need send to ext shop and pay £150 to have done everytime I change bikes. Thankyou.
Just purchased an EXT E-STORIA for my Specialized Kenevo. HBC was a main factor in choosing the brand/model.
I have one , awesome shock , my only gripe , here in Australia, springs are so hard to get
Hello, I have a storia v3 for 3 weeks and I had to send it to the local distributor because the top out was noticeable in such a way that it made a blow. I have it back, modified the rebound piston plates, it is not as noticeable as before but the top out is still noticeable. It's the first spring shock I've had and I have no idea if it's normal, until I find out or it's simply not valid for my SJ Evo 2022, 29" 150mm 210x55.
I also have the same thing. As far as I understand this is normal. Look at my shorts, there is a knock, is that what you mean?
Thank you! Best shock ever
What bike are you running your EXT E-STORIA on?
@@SDmountainbiker Canfield Balance
I run it on my norco sight
Hi can i use id for the new Yt Capra 29? I have more than 100 kg
Got it. Love it. It just made my Kenevo SL a lot better.
Just ordered one for my Kenevo FF. Hope it lives up to its reputation! From what I've read, frame design on Kenevo eats coil shocks for breakfast! Have you had any issues on your Kenevo SL?
Can't wait for my dream build. Storia and Era are of course a big part of the dream !
Please manufacture a 36/38 coil fork with a progressive spring. Something like this working together with your knowledge in hydraulics, will be amazing for sure.
Congratulazione.
New air shock coming?
I also think🤔
Ext suspension is the best I’ve ever used!
Can these be fitted to the V1 fork?
This is fork for Enduro. When will be fork for Downhill? :)
era usd will be probably launched autumn 2023
Looks interesting. Can I use it for my turbo levo comp 2021?
@@RoughRiderz no I've ordered a fox X2.
"E-" like for e-bikes? 🤔
Yes
Wow, my dream : the storia on my bike
I'm loving mine so far - what a fork! The increased stiffness is instantly noticeable and they feel super plush 👌 grazie
@@Pens4Life85 yes! 140 on the hardtail and now 170 on the big bike too - soooo good! V1 for me, for now...
@@Pens4Life85 no CSU issues at all! Not a creak in earshot 🙌 I can honestly say I haven't heard of a single unhappy customer so can't explain the reduction in value other than it's a very niche product in a niche industry and therefore resale is fairly low due to being kinda specialist interest? The only complaint that I've heard is that they can't set it up properly, honestly. That does take a bit of fiddling to get it the way you want, but once done, it's easy to achieve again and is very tunable. I think the V2 upgrades fix the axle coming loose sometimes with a punch bolt but otherwise nothing negative about v1.
I'm wondering is there option to get raw aluminium look off fork legs?
it's magnesium ;)
No xc fork?
you can't develop it all at once. but that would be sweet to have full EXT fork range.
Very interesting. You guys could go OEM. If you have the guts to do it businesswise, you could seriously challenge Fox and RS by forging an aggressively priced fork / shock duo with slightly tuned down tech. I'd be very interested to see you aggro the big players. You've already got them beat on performance - now conquer the market
but it's small manufacture. If they produce that much of suspension, there could be sometimes things like in rs - no oil or grease in dust wipers. I mean, if they still keep this level, ther suspension would cost wayyy more due to expand of brand. and about oem. you can buy oem nicolai with ext ;)
They only has one fork at $1600. How do you expect them to conquer rs and fox’s market?
@@youling1997 not too far off 38s actually and way more boutique
@@fafinnnou can buy Nicolai with an EXT or Intend or Fox... And i would love to try an EXT or a Intend cause i relativ believe, that they rare more about customers than other's especially if there are real problems
As stiff as a Fox 38 or RockShox Zeb?
Stiffness comparison would be super interesting
The forks have 36mm
@@gabrielchassan8833 but are these as stiff as rs and fox?
check out the vorsprung suspension videos on stiffness (1 of the best suspension tuning engineers in the MTB market worldwide). Stiffness these days comes down to headtube > crown construction much more so than stanchion diameter. This is the only single crown fork with a reinforced structure in this critical area. It might very, very well be stiffer than the 38 and zebb in real life.
@@gabrielchassan8833 zeb and fox are 38 but era 36 although it's stiffer cuz of special crown design.
OMFG that's pure mechanical porn...
Great video. I have mine on order. I am beyond excited to get it on my bike!
I'm super excited to try one of these! Looks amazing
I'd love to try one of these, it looks awesome.
Yeah, thats one sexy shock ^.^
I really like your technology in damping. And the clean machined look.
Just ordered one for my new Stanton FS160 build, it looks lush.
Where do we get hardware? Just tried fitting mine using the standard rockshox 30x8 hardware which came on my 2020 Norco Sight 29. I'm running a 185x55 trunnion storia v3 and was before running a 2020 super deluxe. The hardware doesn't fit
Got any raw footage of that rally car damper cam?
you skipped over the bit im unsure about, when re-fitting the spring, how tight to turn the preloader....?
Hi Rusty, the preload is about 1mm.
Can you make a specific video on setting the pre-load. Since this is very important would be nice to have something. What does 1mm constitute, 1/4 turn, 1/2 turn of the ring?
@@modepp5811 1mm preload is 1 turn of the thread.
@@ExtremeShox Is the 1mm of preload measured from where the preload collar first contacts the spring? Or is it measured from where the preload collar is tight enough to eliminate play in the spring?
@@ChrisJohnson-ze5nm it's measured from the first contact of the preload collar with the spring
I really do LOVE this damper on my Nomad. The smallbump sensitivity is second to none. Great job, guys!
Is there a way to check if the hbc is working at the storia?
Remove the spring and feel for an increase in pressure on the last part of the stroke
Best shock I´ve EVER had in my bike (storia v2). Great product!
Ever thought of coming out with a matching fork?
😂
@@punkybeerconsumer ext has gone through 2 generations of the era and youre laughing
