Just bought a 2010 fz1n, only electrics on it is the ignition and fuel injection... perfect 👌
Nice. Got me 2011 fz6n 2yrs ago. No regrets so far.
Gud day sir what is the size of bearing
What is the size of bearing
FOR HEAVENS SAKE! SHHHH. These roads are secret to me and my Himmy. Don't tell all and sundry about them. Before we know it the roads will be full of bloody motorcyclists! East Yorkshire's a secret. Shhh.
Hi! I don't think you're supposed to go by the pressure rating on the sidewall of the tyre. I think that's just the max. Besides the bike manual, I think you can find the correct pressures written on the swingarm or near the VIN. I'm no expert though. All the best!
Great video. I’ve just got a 2006 fazer S. I’ve had a couple of gen 1 fazers and I like this one, fast comfortable and still looks quite modern even though it’s 18 years old. My triumph storm ate its bottom end at 20,000 miles so I’m back on a jap bike.
Excellent bikes; bought mine new in 2012 with lots of dealer fitted accessories including akropovic carbon can. Sold it in 2021 and loved every minute of ownership. Seriously quick when wound up and good handling. Still miss it now and would get another any day. Buy a good one and you will love it !
You are missing part of the job. Removing and reinstalling the wheel. There are small and long spacers, and I'm not sure which one is on the brake side and can't install the wheel back 😢
Je kan ook een groote dop gebruiken om het lager er uit te krijgen 😊
If are going to use music, please level your audio, the music covers your voice and it is overshooting
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.
Hi Rob you not done anymore vids on the fz1 ??
How is this jacket in the summer?
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to ask a question. So the jacket is a great 3/4 season jacket. Take out the thermal liner and it performs very well. Depending on where you live, it will be warmer stood still in the sun, but on the bike it’s just right. Good wind protection and ventilation. Merlin do a mesh jacket (Chigwell) I think, but I like the peace of mind of a full jacket. Just in case that Great British weather changes and it slings it down. I hope this helps.
@@mammothmotouk thanks for the reply I am considering getting the Edale 2
8:00 devils elbow that corner is known as usually a bumber or two left on the grass from over confident unskilled drivers
know the roads you showed well have you rode blakey ride thats a good road
Sweet run 👍👍
Well I've had code 43 on mine not much on it or about it my local yamaha dealer wasn't interested in looking at it they said they would just change the whole loom well digging into it I found it was a bad earth took me a couple of days but got there just in case anyone else has the issue 😊😊
No nothing?
.. „smiles for the miles“ ha, ha 😅 fully agree, bought a 2008 FZ 1 Fazer two years ago, low mileage but as German model with ABS .. great bike, but what you didn‘t mention, the riders position with a relatively wide fuel tank, high mounted foot pegs makes every ride a permanent Yoga, a hip and leg stretching session 🤣 and a friendly advise: as a „Yorkshire Man“ please consider filming rides on curvy, small roads in the Yorkshire Dales, in the Peak District, Lake District .. at least as enhoyable as the „Fränkische Schweiz“ north-east Nürberg where I live .. Cheers 🍻
I just put a deposit on one of these. I'm so excited!!!!!!! First liter bike after 7 years of riding
Those mirrors would be useless wouldn't they?
It's a noisy helmet. Even at lower speeds.
Is R4 on in the background? 😝.
Are they battery powered leds on the wall?
looks like Batman's helmet
I fire up my gaggia classic every morning.
Nice.
thank you for talking about position of air inputs
I love my FZ1. 95 thousand miles not once has it broke down ir not run. They are awsome motorcycles. Powerful, fast , handles great, and the most reliable bike ive ever owned. Used these bikesxare a bargain and a half. You cant go wrong.
Hi James, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I really appreciate it. The FZ1 is a bullet proof, dream to ride and will always remain in my top three of all time.
She's sleeping for the winter now just hit 96 thousand miles. My new ohlims rear shock and front fork cartridges came in. She's getting an upgrade to bring her up to speed. I absolutely love this bike . Even when I get an MT10. This bike will never be sold!!
How did the spray paint wheel spray go? Its lasting?
Front sprocket 1 teeth less , improving Push in lowe RPM
Do NOT use the old bearing to drive in the new one. It will get stuck and you’ll end up driving the new one out just to push the old one out that’s now on top of the new one leaving you no way to drive it back in all the way. Use the correct tool to drive the new bearing in. You’ll thank me later.
Hi Rob, I will be travelling up from Bristol with a friend from Essex to do a long weekend of the North York Moors, Dales and Peak District ( I ride a Honda 500 cbx and my friend Yam 700 Ten). I was just wondering ,being a local ,if you could advise me of any good/ interesting roads ( not necessarily fast)over the North Moors .So far I’ve picked up Stockesley to Helmsley and KirbyMills to Castletown. Thanks but don’t worry if you don’t have time to respond.Richard
Don't know if you stl have the FZ, but i was looking at an Mt10 but the price's are heavy so looked up the FZ1n and it seems to tick all the boxes at a good price, was just wondering about the weight and handling.
Hi, Thanks for the comment, it’s really appreciated. I haven’t been on social media for awhile now due to a breakdown. I am on the up curve now, so hopefully will get back to content soon. So to your question. I owned an MT09 and the FZ1. I would describe riding the MT09 similar to being strapped to the back of a Japanese murder hornet. Light, flickable, very aggressive with a real sting in its tail if you change up the rider settings. A mixture of joy, cold sweats, screams of ecstasy, dread and giggles. All in the knowledge the knowledge that she might just sting you. The FZ1 though, is best described as an R1 without the fairing. If not, the first one of the first super naked bikes. She is simple, dependable a little heavier, but that doesn’t translate into how nimble she is. If anything I think she is more grounded with the connection to the road. The riding position is more relaxed and easier on the back and knees. At slower speeds she is quiet and unassuming, open her up though and with the right exhaust, wow, just wow. All the power is usable and confidence inspiring. The delivery is reasonably refined and if you want to change it up a she can be improved with mapping. The FZ is at home on the track, twisties the open road and I commuted with any kind of issue. There are no electronics to go wrong so it’s all about you and her. Stick the right tyres on and she’ll give you great feedback allowing you to take her up to the limit without stinging you. Don’t get me wrong, the Yamaha really got it right with the MT Series, but drew their inspiration from the FZ1. If you can find one at the right price do some cosmetic upgrades, front light LED and indicator swap. She will put a smile on your face every time you step foot into the garage!! I could talk about this all day. Hope this helps.
@@mammothmotouk thanks Rob a useful summary a d think I am still leaning towards the FZ as it seems useful for everything Cheers.
Great Review! After hearing what you had to say I got one for myself and everything you said is absolutely true! Quality, Style super warm and comfortable. Love the liner that you can take out. It's now my favorite jacket! Thanks for your help in my decision. Love it!
Thanks for your comment it’s really appreciated. I’m glad you love the jacket. I still find reasons to where mine.
Do you have the link to the barings
Great review👍🏻👍🏻
Gonna pick up my new 2012 Fz1N with 7000km in 30 min.. ❤❤❤
Hi. I am wondering about fz1 and cb1000 i have found one fz1 with nice price but seller said it needs shaft regeneration. It,s realy jard to find good one with good condition.
Hi there, thanks for the comment. I did try the Honda but it wasn’t for me. The new one looks good though with its cafeish styling. However, when you ride the FZ you understand how it inspired the MT10.
@@mammothmotouk i realy like bikes with exhaust position under my sit like fazer have or spoted under passanger footrest. Second important thing is headlight fz1 is acceptable but i think led upgrades is nessesary for driving by night
@@gin21zkato - it’s funny you should say that, as my plan is to fit led indicators and headlight. It will transform the bike and bring it right up to date. Once this is done, I will then look at fitting a quick shifter.
Just got one too. Brilliant. But I'm wondering?? Why do Scotland's roads look like a Falklands airfield compared to Englands....?????
Great video man. Thanks👍
That helmet is super nice i have owned a HJC CSr3, fly revolt, Agv k5s, HJC cl17, speed and strength SS2100 (this was straight trash), scorpion exo R710 , Scorpion exo R2000, out of all the helmet the HJC had the great air Flow but no anti fog, Agv K5s was awesome the best out of the all but at high speeds starts to whistle but it was stable at high speeds over 150 and that s the only helmet that was that stable. Is this stable at high speeds and is it true to size my head is 58cm on the dot all my helmets have been medium except the HJC helmets.
Rob, you mentioned losing weight. What size did you end up getting. I'm a heavy chap at 5ft 8in . Would a 4x be too long ?
Hi you missed 2 bearings out mate
Hi, Thanks for the comment. At the time of filming, I had camera issues and lost most of the footage. I thought it was still worth posting though.
Hi mate when are more videos coming. Many thanks
Hey Rob, thanks for the review what are your thoughts on the riding position for that helmet, I ride a Yamaha V-Max 2005 upright position., also its been 8 months do you have any updates on their padding and piling of the pleather?
are there needle bearing on this wheel? if it does, did you change the needl bearing aswell ?
You can see the needle bearing @ 9:57 mark. He didn't change that OR the other wheelbearing on the other side of the wheel.
Cracking bike 👍
Thank you really so much for this nice review, i really think about buy this helmet
Hi Rob! Keith here in Florida USA. Thanks for putting up this video. I hope you will put up more repair videos to your FZ1. I have a 2002 FZ1 and I am interested in any and all repair videos as I will be attempting to do all my repairs. Thank you again!
You are aware that you should NOT hit any bearing with a hammer, right? Absolutely rubbish amateur job. To anyone watch this, please don't follow the guy from the video and insert your bearings with a hammer. Use a long bolt M10-M14 with large, thick washers to press your bearings into the wheel. Hitting bearings with a hammer damages bearings and doesn't place them perfectly inline.
