Accessible via a 1.8-mile mostly level trail from the Tennessee Valley parking area, the hike offers scenic views of rolling hills and diverse wildlife. We saw a bobcat and a blue heron on our walk to the beach. The trail is well-ma...

The Richmond District in San Francisco celebrated its inaugural Lunar New Year "Good Luck" Parade on Saturday, January 18, 2025, along Balboa Street between 35th and 39th Avenues. It was a good time with a few timing and sound system hiccups. I'm sure it will be better next year.

California World Guitar Show 2025

This was my third year and it was just as good as last year's show. Everyone seemed super friendly and willing to talk to me about their guitars. Sit back for a full walk-through of the 2025 show. They had all sorts of cool guitars to look at and demo if you wanted to. I'm currently not a good enough player to do that. They had very rare Fender Stratocasters and Les Paul guitars everywhere. What an amazing early January day to see the Fairfax Falls. As you can see the weather was perfect and the sun was shining. Gotta love this weather in the Bay Area right now. If you want to go see the falls use Google Maps. They are about 2 miles north of downtown Fairfax on Sir Francis Drake Blvd on the Old Railroad Grade Fire Road. THE STREAM HAD LOTS OF CRAWDADS (CRAWFISH) IN IT SO MANY YEARS AGO,, VERY TASTY, WE TOOK A BRANCH, TIED A STRING ON IT, TIED A SMALL PIECE OF BACON ON IT, LOWERED IT CLOSE TO THE BIG ROCKS, THEY WOULD GRAB IT, WE'D PULL IT TO THE SURFACE AND NET THEM. WE HAD A PRETTY BIG BUCKET OF THEM ONE YEAR, PROBABLY ALL GONE NOW. THEIR CLAW HAD A WHITE SPOT ON IT. GOOD MEMORIES.
WE FIRST STARTED CAMPING THERE IN 1960, WE LOVED #13, CLOSE TO THE CREEK, GREAT CAMPGROUND, QUIET, SAFE, GIVE IT A TRY, YOU'LL LOVE IT.
A Re-Issue has been done by Gibson and Fender guitars. Generally speaking the company is attempting recreate something from there past. Because over the years many things change like companies go out of business or get bought by a largerer conglomerate etc. Fender has re-issued for instance the 1957 Stratocaster. Why the pickup windings were different and the neck had a V shape a light clear coating on the Maple Necks all became popular by the early 80's. Gibson for example re-issued what they called the standard 80. It came out in 1980 but it was an attempt by Gibson to make a Les Paul Standard like they did in 1958. A Burst if you will. Considering bursts were already 3500=5000 by 1981 people were really on the hunt for them. So it made sense for Gibson return to the olden days. Beveled edges dish top nice figuring in the maple top, No more Volute and Nickel hardware. They were exact but it helped those who couldn't find or afford a real one!!!! Rickenbacker too re-issued a Roger McGuinn of the Byrds John Lennon models in a 325 and a 355. They too have many over the years and there's are also beautiful. If you cant afford the real McCoy these are terrific options!!!!!! Cheers
More awesome cars...Ford GT is awesome! Like the Mustangs. Flipped on side is a good demo. The variety is amazing.

Hamer is a guitar manufacturer lets say Chicago!!! HAY-MER a hammer that we pound nails with is Spelled Hammer
@@donnyswanson6186 Thanks for watching and the education.
@Bayareaandbeyond777 Hamer guitars was a top notch outstanding quality manufacturer of fine custom guitars see Rick Nielson of Cheap Trick and Jeff Watson of Night Ranger. Hamer built them incredible examples. Sadly they were purchased by fender then shutdown the factory. Check them out next time you run into one!! I think you'll find an instrument you'll enjoy and play.
These guitars are pieces of art .😎

Nice intro Paul! Monterey was awesome. Liked the Hodaka dirt bike. I had one.
Thank you!
Good one Paul. Do you ever miss the whole ‘racing culture’? I once went on a double date to ‘Devils Bowl’ racetrack in Dallas. There is a small raceway north of Greenville. Someday I will go there. I always especially enjoy when you do a ‘flashback’ or a personal stories growing up😊 * ‘May Madness’ San Rafael & Petaluma Hot Rod shows I really miss myself.
Yes, I definitely miss the racing world. I really enjoyed working around all the racing and the customers were really cool. As you know my boss was an Asshole! Ryan says I should tell more stories also. I think I will start doing more of that.
Hey Mr. Brad.... Love what u have been doing , as in all of it... Your other ideas as well, go right in sink as well, as it all comes together to the main point of it all, which is Experience, Talent, Taste, &, the ability to show others what they (really) - need to be shown.... Other than that dude, There's a ton Id love to talk to u about, trust ! that !.... But anyways, just wanted to mention to u, not sure if u realized yet but, Harmony has a New line out these days of new product guitars... As well, they sound pretty killer dude.... Not sure if u have seen yet, but somewhere, Tim Pierce has a segment on , or snipit on a new Harmony Guitar 🎸.... And , one of the points I wanted to make to u is, they feature there old school gold foils!.... As well, they sound killer!!.... I guess where I'm going with this is I thought I would mention it, as another selling point for your guitars I've been trying to possibly sell here and there.... I think it might be a good thing to key in on , because u have a lot of the gold foil thing going on and u can't just find that anywhere all the time anymore.... As well, remember the Tim Pierce thing I mentioned.... I think as well , that may help u sell those even faster, again, the gold foil thing!.... Check that video out that he did, if u haven't caught it yet .... I think u will see what mean..... I'll be getting back to u about other things.... Take it Breezy Brad!....

Was able to visit the cab when it was on static display at Pomona Fairplex decades ago .. excellent RUclips videos showing how it was recovered and renewed for service
@SCVIndy You are lucky. I would love to see the cab.
@ I attended the NHRA Winternationals and one day saw all the locomotives w a stairway up to the cab .. that engine sat there a long time little did I know Union Pacific would revive it ..
Very entertaining Paul! You know how I love steam trains. I recognize some of them as we were in Colorado/N.Mexico when you filmed them.
I go to most of those Novato C&Cs. Will see you there this Sunday!
So beautiful
Fake! Am I expected to believe that enormous vehicle does not use diesel, electricity, nor even petrol?
@indridcold8433 Not fake! There's a huge amount of information about the BigBoy out there.
It’s a steam locomotive bruh
Nice beach area! Beautiful! The CA coast is amazing. Good rip-tide tip.Looks like a drone shot! Glad you are doing that again! Don't go to NJ! Ryan's climb was fun. The blue heron was a good find.
It was a good day.
Torque monster got those drive wheels for a split second 😂
Good video Paul. I use to enjoy the drive ‘over’ from Fairfax to Bolinas(on those fire roads). Lots of beautiful scenery. * Thanks for sharing the ‘crash’. Do you still stay in touch with her? ** Kona was very sweet and loyal but also very hard to control.
@videogeekin Yes, I'm still in touch with her.
Sweet. Good one Paul. I purchased a guitar or two there back in 2010. I guess in some ways the combined effect of inflation as well as catering to the very rich in Marin County has escalated not only rent but guitar prices😊
@@videogeekin very true!!
Interesting video Paul & Ryan. Haven’t seen Ryan in maybe a month or two? I am very familiar of that area of Marin. Around 2009-2010 I was going there many times. Very cool area. Crows here really like deer corn(dried squirrel corn). * Smokey Mountain Parkway here needs those garbage collection stations. Too many locals as well as tourist throw trash out of their cars.🫤
I think you're right about the garbage collection stations. That's a great idea for your area.
I did the last inpections of these ammo bunkers. Let me know which bldg number. I have a three volume draft historical surveys done in 1996.
I don't know what the building numbers are. Thanks for your comment.
@Bayareaandbeyond777 you were calling them out "A##". I have detail sheets perhaps.
@ericroberthice9195 appreciate your offer. I'm not sure what I would do with you docs.
Fascinating culture. Tesla truck is a big hit. It is a fascinating design. Rappers are good. Nice harp playing. Always love a parade. Like the martial arts. Music is soothing at the fashion show. Live music is good! Why is China our enemy?
They have a great culture and many great things come from China. Don't believe the media in their propaganda of hate. This planet needs love, not hate.
Not a wisp of steam apparent? Was it being pushed by a diesel?
If you watch my video of the crew they said it was only for braking and large grades.
Steam engines generally don't produce all that steam that you see, that's a hollywood effect, if it's operated correctly you should see little to no steam except at tonnage or speed where it'll be white
I love coastal Nor Cal nature and really appreciated the things you pointed out.. I think the tree with the ferns growing on it might be a Sitka Spruce, the glover like plant is wild sorrel.
@@maggiemaggie8172 I'm glad you like my video. Thanks for the tree information.
Beautiful kitty 😺
Pretty cool stuff 👍👍
How do I get in contact with event organizers??
I don't know. I would call the fire department and ask them. Heads up it may not happen this year due to the closed beach.
@Bayareaandbeyond777 thanks alot

And as a bonus, it's haunted.

Paul, this was fascinating. I didn’t realize the USS Potomac was still in existence until I started searching and came upon your video. Thanks for the very thorough tour of this historic yacht and for taking the time to post this. Fascinating.
@scottgarner3025 I appreciate your comments and am glad you enjoyed my video.
because guitars and amps are worth more in california . . .
Especially in Marin County.
I had to turn the volume off to watch this. You don't need to talk at all...but thanks for the vid...
@585960 Thank you for watching!!
What a fantastic video have a great day also happy new year from Canada and also I am a Fender person ❤😊
@aminahmed2220 Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I have never seen so many over priced guitars in my life... I have been attending these shows for decades,... and the truth is, these "Vintage" guitars aren't even as playable or as well built as a new PRS for $1000!!! The bubble has to burst for this price gouging!
@davidsparks6146 If people keep paying those prices, they will keep going up. I spoke to several vendors who said they had a very successful show.
Beautiful Nature hike Paul. I was under the impression that salmon spawned at a certain time of the year? The spillway is awesome, white water makes it a show. Fish at last! Good spot! I like the waterfall view from the bridge! I think the water there is about as pure as you can get, I agree, just a deterant from swimming.
@woodypope7421 Yes, it's a beautiful place.
Spent a lot of time hiking that area. Always take the fire road up to Kent Lake. All the times I’ve been there I’ve never seen water in the spill way. Cool seeing what it looks/sounds like when it happens.
Prices are same in Canada as in USA despite currency difference.
The prices are outrageous. But I guess it comes with the territory.
Probably 90% of those guitar will never sell for anything close to asking price, if they ever sell at all, lots of vendors think they are sitting on goldmines
@@WinstonWhite-l9j So true.
Thanks for the bluegrass plug Paul. Interesting life changing story from 1st concert. That special cable looked to be using radio cable like in ham radio. No high frequency loss. That small oval hole guitar is a Gypsy jazz model. I had a friend who made his own dreadnought. He bought all the tools to bend the wood etc. Liked the luthier and his talk, colorful guy. There is a recent shop at the Garland Square named Jimmy Wallace Guitars. He has a lot of high priced guitars like those at his shop. Enjoyable Paul, thanks!
I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Wow! What a terrible car accident story, glad she survived. My Granny killed Coperhead snakes with a hoe. Like the huge drain pipe. Nice echo. Good effects Paul! Turns ordinary into great! Tracks look like wolf to me.
Thank you for your comments. Maybe coyote tracks. We don't have wolves out here that we know of. There have been bear sightings.
One of my favorite channels on RUclips. I’ve been hiking and biking the Bay Area and beyond since the early 90s. You’ve visited a handful of places that I’ve passed by hundreds of times but never stopped long enough to check out. It’s been fun re-investigating all the different areas you showcase.
@babycujo Wow, thank you so much for your compliment! I really appreciate you telling me you love my channel. When I film a video, I never know if it's connecting with people.
Amazng they have created an artificial stream for the fish to spawn upstream. Sorry no fish appeared. Nice facility BTW. Speaking of Russian River, you should do a piece on Goathead Rock. Nice visitor center. Look forward to part 2.
