First of all, saying that God took the punishment of sin is incorrect. You're conflating Jesus with God. What you meant is that Jesus bore the sin of mankind, not God. Second, this concept of inherent sin is flawed and contrary to the Bible which states that the father is not responsible for the sins of his sons and vice versa. This concept of inherent sin is a new idea in the New Testament which was not taught by the Prophets in the Old Testament. You might have read the Quran but you didn't understand it.

The question about Mary is in regards to the Catholics, who pray to her as "Mother of God" (Hail Mary). The Islamic understanding is that whoever you pray or offer supplications to is who you worship. All worship and supplications should be directed to God alone, as He is the only one who can answer or hear prayer. If you are not praying to the icon, how are you communicating to the person pictured by the icon? Prayer is a mental exercise where you attempt to communicate through thought alone. Unless the receiver has divine power, he will not hear the thought that is conveyed. God hears us because he is divine and has the power to hear prayer. No one else hears prayer. Christ's incarnation was not the first time that God chose to visit creation. It was not even the first time he chose to do so in human form. If the incarnation of God as the son of Mary gives us permission to "venerae" this image, why are we not also given permission to "venerate" his image when he appeared to Abraham and Sarah? Why are we not kissing pictures of burning bushes? While God appeared as a man, his true nature is no more a man than a burning bush or a golden calf. He ordered us not to use graven images in worship AFTER he appeared in human form to Abraham and Sarah. If God the Father never incarnated who was Abraham calling "Lord"?
