Majesty for the Realm Solo Playthrough
Thanks for this video. I just bought my copy based on this video too.. and will try the 2 AI as suggested. Pls do update if there’s other variant for solo play. Thanks again for the smooth playthrough video. Appreciate big time on solo videos especially fan made variant which is not widely spread enough.
I had purchased this game just by reading the back of the box. I watched your play through and am really glad I did buy it!! Excellent detailed instructions and fun play! Can’t wait to play. Thanks so much!! I subscribed and am looking forward to more of your videos!
Hi, At 31:01, you are not supposed to take the pieces to complete the other puzzle. Rule book page 7 about finishing touches: " You must perform all your Finishing Touches before any of your puzzles are considered complete. i.e. you cannot complete one puzzle with a Finishing Touch and then use the pieces gained from that to perform additional finishing touches.
Your final score should be 15 (since 3 and 5 value puzzle not completed) - 3 (from finishing touches of 4) - 8 (3 and 5 value puzzle not completed) = 4..
Where, oh where, did Mr. Meeples go? Where, oh where, could he be? 🤔
I was wondering if I was one yellow short as I only had 5 for the opponent as well!
Downstairs rooms don't score by adjacency, the score per every one of the indicated room type in your castle. You would have scored higher taking them into account.
Couple of placements skipped towards the end (might be more linear to place, then score) but great play through, i liked some of your thinking
its been a year...
I found this game at Goodwill unopened for 1.99 and then found your video when searching for into / solo instructions. I did play along and was good fun however I did not do very well. I scored a measly 9. Will absolutely play again and even serach for the other titles in this series. I learned today that I really enjoy solo roll and write. Thank you for your content.
That camera setup needs fixing asap. It's rocking back and forth badly. Need some kind of stabilization. I couldn't even watch the video. It made me feel sea sick.
You should probably consult a doctor if the very slight rocking made you "sea sick".
@BobLee-df4zh "Very slight rocking" Come on, you can't be serious. That camera is shaking like Michael.J.Fox The content is good, but the setup needs fixing. Plain and simple.
Great explanation of the rules
I didn't realize Sorcerer's City had a solo variant. I'm going to try and learn it! Thanks for posting.
I've played this two-player a handful of times and have really enjoyed it. This morning it was raining and plans were canceled, so I decided to try the solo variant. Thanks for posting....helped a lot with learning the new rules!
Thank you for a great play through, just got this game second hand and this helps a lot !
Hello Andy ! Long time no play because still not feeling well however, playing armchair games and Clever is one ,the rest are Paper Dungeon and Dragons Smart Games IQ puzzlers. Hope it won't be long before I can get back to my table and play the games I love. Hope you are OK. BTW: Because I haven't played Clever for a while I had to check on a number of mistakes I've been making.....It seems a lit. Your tuition is brilliant so thank you,but your tuition in every game you show is always brilliant. Rughr,go back and play Clever but now clear about X and 6 also the plus 1 ! Phew, really wasted a lot of paper 😊 All the Best.
Thank you so much for the video, it’s really helped me ☺️
I have Patchwork solo setup on my table right now. Im worried I might get that score on my first game in ages also.
Thanks for the playthrough! I was under the impression that in solo play, when you are the passive player, you don’t get to pick if two die have the same low value. Instead, I believe the rule book (for Ganz Schon Clever at least) says you roll outside the silver platter and then choose the die that is closest to the platter. Also, I thought you could only use the +1 bonus after all the active dice have been chosen. Although, your way would definitely help with my scores!
Nice variant, thanks
The halls are silent…the people are devastated. There is one man that can make us happy. The man the worlds needed the most, come back mr meeples 🥲
Pretty neat ...TFS! Ouch for the score though 🤭
we miss you...
Thank You for doing play through videos and taking the time to explain each step. Finally after watching your video I understand how to play this game. I watched several videos from other channels but they skip some stuff and don't explain thoroughly. You got a new subscriber.
Thank you for the subscribe! I’m glad you liked the video!
Come back Mr. Meeples. When the world needed him most, he vanished 😔
I am still here. Do not worry. I took a little time off to work on my National Board Certification for teaching. It’s a lot of work! I’ll be back soon.
Mostly thrown by the mismatched edge of the board with the brown building. The edges should match the tiles, so should always be grassy. Let me know if this is wrong. Thanks for the vid!
Also, for the forum phase, the markers would be placed between two adjacent cards. The half circles aren't open spots, I'm thinking.
Thank you for your comment! As far as I can see in the video, all the tiles match edges. I couldn't find your reference. Though I didn't do this, I believe you can even put a building piece against the edge of the board, but it would be unable to be completed. Thanks for watching!
@@laughatmydeath That would have made the AI much more competitive. I found that party pretty easy with SO many open spots. I haven't checked, but I bet you're right! Good catch!
Late reply but for the benefit of anyone else discovering this video looking for a solo mode you are correct on both counts. Couple of snippets from the 2021 rules... 1. Building Phase "The frame counts as grass, and so you may only place tiles with a grass side adjacent to the frame." 2. Forum Phase "On your turn, choose two adjacent cards in the forum and place one of your markers on an empty spot between the cards as shown."
@@allthelonelymeeplesYou didn't in the game but did in the rules explanation, around the 8 minute mark. You're supposed to treat the frame as grass so it wouldn't be a valid move. Thanks for the solo mode though, will try it out soon 🙂
Very savvy correction on the gameplay at 43:28! Thanks for the vid.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed!
Sorry 😕 Need help ! I thought that the player chooses from the first column as does the crow then second round from second column and so on for five rounds. So I misread the rules 😢 Please tell me that I can play it "my" way, too or does it not make sense ? Thanks.
You take the first turn of each round, but the crow’s first turn is in column two. This gives the crow the first turn in every column but the first. They are taking something away from you, like a second player. You could play it your way where you take turns depending on the order. I think this way would be a little easier, since you wouldn’t always be competing with the crow for cards…if that makes sense.
Thanks Andi, Yes, I played with the crow taking the column o e next to mine. Me first column one, crow goes to column two;next I go to column two and the crow goes to the third column. Phew, thought I was breaking rules ! Sorry about my previous explanation. Anyway, back to smaller games: have you ordered Stellarion yet ? Will be back te:Oniverse latest if you play it so run Andi 😊😊 Thanks for your help...yet again !
Golly gosh! The Reference Cards are quite useless because the printing info is unreadable. All I can say is Thank you Andi for your video.
You are very welcome!
I'll be ready whenever you find time. Take care Andy.
I love watching playthroughs when they are done well. Yours are done very well. Thank you. Is it possible to play with more than 1 A.I. opponent?
Thank you very much for saying that! That means a lot to me. So, I believe it is possible to play against more than one A.I. opponent using this fan-made mode. Here's what I would do: Set the A.I. village cards in such a way that you can play on both sides of them (one side for each of the two A.I. players). This way, you'll still have two sets of village cards to shuffle and draw for their turns. Let me think of a way you could play with three A.I. and not be too messy on the table.
@@allthelonelymeeples Thank you! Majesty is very appealing. Easy to play but crunchy decisions. I'm thinking of buying it based on this playthrough. A great game to play between heavier stuff.
Thanks for making this How to play & Playthrough! I always prefer watching videos over reading the rulebook, so I was really glad to find your video. I just watched your set-up and explanation part and then one round of actual playing and decided to go ahead and try it myself while I kept on listening to you. You explained it really well and I enjoyed my first play-through. I ended up scoring 103 points :D
Thank you very much! I'm glad you found the video. I also prefer watching videos over reading the rulebook.
Love this game. Guess what I tried to do,Andi ? Well, a few months ago I decided to make a city using all the the boards and it looked possible but wasn't to be. Took a few days to recover from eyestrain and an almighty headache ! Great fun but with the one board 😊😊😊 I also have Dice City but haven't played it yet. All the Best.
1st
Will order this game but it seems a !little more complicated than Herbaceous and the others I already have in this genre. The good news: I an a!says refer to your video 👏👏👏.
I really appreciate that! Thank you. I haven’t played the other games in the series, but I don’t think you will be disappointed with this one.
Again,my type of game ! Just a question: why do you place the cards on the rondell in specific orientations each round, please ? Thanks.
On the rondel and on the cards, there are little, yellow dots. You match the dot on the card with the dot on the spaces of the rondel. I don't think it's in the rules, but I always fill in the rondel from top to bottom, left to right.
Thank you so much for quick reply. Looking around for this game. Btw: Can you please suggest a R&W game to play while resting a leg in a recliner chair, please ? I have been playing Dungeon,Dragons and Dice and want a change. Will get to table games a.s.a.p but getting rather bored right now ! 😴😴☺ Anyway, watching your videos helps. Thanks
@@apollonia6656 Just off the top of my head...Rolling America, Encore!, and Qwixx.
Thank you. Ordered Qwixx because I finished the scoring pads for Clever and have about 10 pages of Twice as Clever Waiting with anticipation. I am missing my dining room table 😕😕 Thanks again .
@@apollonia6656 You are very welcome!
Your channel is great - keep up the good work! I was confused about why the valley cards would start with fall, then go to summer, then spring. I read the rules, and it looks like you are supposed to stack them face down with the fall cards on top, and then flip the whole stack over so that the spring cards are face up on top!
I'm glad you enjoy it! And you are absolutely right...it does say in the instructions to "turn the stacks face up. I can't believe it never occurred to me that the seasons were wrong. Ha! Thanks for the catch. Will change that for next time.
I’m totally down!
Board games are bussin
Board games = quality time
Can you play a bit of Akropolis some time, please ? Looks and sounds really good. Thanks
Absolutely! I know it's high on my Top 50 list, but I'll try and break it out this week. It is such a GREAT game. We just got back from our weekend away, so more videos to come tomorrow. : )
Thank you. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Love Welcome to My Perfect Home and wondering if Welcome to the Moon is as good because of the different scenarios:can they all be played solo or is it just the first scenario ? Thanks.
I have only ever played the original Welcome To. That being said, I can't imagine they would take out the solo mode for any of them. I would be very surprised.
Just for Info: "Ganz schön clever" means "quite clever" while "doppelt so clever" stands for "twice as clever" clever = intelligent
I want to get my hands on the third one soon!
Does the movement change in the solo mode? I thought the pawns moved across by following the lines in the center.
You are referring to the 1st edition, I believe. Someone on boardgamegeek did a study and and "mathed" it out. They found that the lines didn't actually matter. The newer versions do not have the lines.
@@allthelonelymeeples Yep. Looks like they changed the movement rules in the second edition. I played the first edition with the lines crossing the center. I kinda liked that better actually, it was fun to move across the center.
Me too. There was just something cool about moving across the lines to the opposite side!
Have the game and still haven't played it. 😕 Playing Imperial Settlers Roll and Write,or should I say trying to play! Andi, you make great videos and like the calmness of your voice. I cannot abide people talking fast ! 👏👏👏 Thanks.
I have Imperial Settlers Roll & Write...I do like that game a lot as well. And thank you for your compliments. No one has ever complimented me on my voice. I appreciate it!
This game is my type of game. Thanks Andi,I will check and see how much it costs. Great video
You are very welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely stunning shirt Mr. Meeples
Nice shirt
Nice lists! I love playing boardgames on trips too. My favorites are Grove and Sprawlopolis--especially Grove. Love to play cards and dice anywhere possible XD
Awesome! I can't get my hands on Sprawlopolis. I'm jealous.
Go away clown
I don't think Everdell was published in 2021. That must be 2018 or something
You are correct. I misspoke! Thank you for catching that.
