Man instant follow!!! I got an 08 4runner ive been looking at doing this to for like 2 years, but up to 1k for a metal front bumper, thats crazy to me, im doing this as soon as i can, banger video, banger runner! 🤌🏻🤙🏻
@@RealTRKLogic heck yeah! Thank you so much. Stoked the video could help inspire you!
@dillansgarage hey man you got any social media other than YT, so I can show you a picture of it. Whenever I buy it and get it done, it's WAY cheaper, BUT I still need to get the $ for it, man so glad I came across this video, I dont even remember how lol

@@user-db3tu6uk7r howdy! Your best bet will be to get a 5th gen 4Runner rear bumper. Just trim your oem bumper to fit and bolt it on. There are affordable options for 5th rear bumpers too

Brother I watched your original video on using blue devil. What were the symptoms you originally had that lead you to believe it was a blown head gasket?
My symptoms were pretty mild. It was only after hours of driving or going up a mountain. Then I would start to overheat when I slow down to a stop. If I kept driving I didn’t over heat. It’s because it took hours for enough exhaust gas to fill my cooling system to stop the coolant from flowing. It would only flow when the rpm was up and turning the water pump faster
Thanks for posting this. I really appreciate it. I ordered the bumper through the link. One thing I noticed when gathering the needed supplies for the installation is that the lengths on the door rubber seals seems excessive. Did you just want to have extra? Or would 10' be enough?
@@chachisincharge glad you found it helpful! I forget exactly what length I posted. It’s possible shorter options weren’t available at the time I posted. 10ft is plenty. I’m also very diy minded so I like to have extras. Mine was actually left over from another project
Just finished the install and I'm completely floored at how great this bumper is for the $. Your video was a huge help. Thanks again! Winch video, cough cough
Is the fair lead modification video coming at all? Seems the way they designed that lip where the license bracket is makes it hard for any winch, my X-bull fairlead wouldn't fit. Did you just cut below the license bracket?
@@gmoti_ I plan to just cut a hole in the right place. Sorry I haven’t made the video yet. We moved recently and I finally have a shop, but I don’t have electricity run to the shop yet. Electrician keeps pushing it back.

Loctite, loctite, loctite! Also if you want this to be your full time gig and get paid to play, target a cheap china made amazon parts with aftermarket quality adapters so you dont have to zip tie or cut wires, (you open the door for an invalidated warranty) and resurfacing the bumper, cuz that paint aint going to last. And then show how your installs are truely cheaper than well known parts. Overlap your videos, the next video update should touch in how your previous install is holding up. Or... just make it clear your target audience is high schoolers jerry rigging aftermarket parts. :-)
Judging by the bone stock jeep in your pic and loctite obsession you must not actually work on trucks. I’m glad you’re spending your highschool days watching diy content though. My demo on RUclips is actually 30-50 year olds, according to the analytics. You may have been trying to give a poke with that comment, but it didn’t work lol
Devil head gasket doesn’t work just blocks ur areas in engine
@@jayjb833 incorrect. That’s a common misconception. Stop-leak or Blue Devil Pour-n-go (the cheaper one) will block passages. But not Blue Devil HG Sealer. If you do some research you’ll learn about the difference between physical based sealant vs chemical based. Chemical sealants are safe because they only solidify at the point of the leak due to a chemical reaction. I would NEVER pour a physical based sealant in cause that will stick to anything and everything and cause nothing but issues down the line. The blue devil I have used multiple times works and sometimes works for many years. 7 years later and my 4Runner still has no block passages.
Awesome!!

How cold have you been able to get it at idle??
It works about the same at idle. Overall it’s not the cold AC there is, it more so take the edge off on a hot day. In a mildly warm day it gets too cold in there. But hot days it can barely keep up
But I’ll take when I can get lol
Do you know what make/model that new one is from?

Honest question doesn’t he just source this grill from that Chinese mass production, TEMU type of store, then rebrand them as his own? Not that that’s a bad thing, just wondering. At least this way shipping is much faster.
Yes, everyone sells the same grill basically. The differences is he’s local, includes the lights and the harness, and provides great customer service. No offense taken, it’s a perfectly normal question. Every once in a while, a grill is damaged in shipping and it’s a lot easier to deal with him than a Chinese company.
@@dillansgarage thanks for the reply, I’m going to finally get one of them. Been thinking about it for almost two years lol.
@@kurticeberg4566 I’ve been thinking about it ever since my buddy got one back in 2019 lol super happy. I have it now. Gives a whole new vibe to the front of the truck.
Interesting reading the comments and how some people are like it’s a Sequoia and will never be used as an off roader . I have a 2019 Sequoia and it spends lots of time off road and loves it . Awesome vid, just wondering if its really noisy with all that movement and if there is any way to get rid of all that movement??
Thank you! Are you referring to the way bumper separate from the body? If so, that’s just how it is. It does that with the stock bumper too, you just can’t see it cause the plastic flexes with the movement.

Does a 2 wheel drive 5th gen 4Runner have cv axels in the front? I’ve had multiple mechanics tell me I don’t have cv Axels in the front.
That’s correct. CV axles are only for 4wd IFS vehicles. The only thing somewhat related to this would be to check your wheel bearing, but those don’t usually go bad with normal use. Our 4runner front bearings are designed to last the life of the vehicle. That said I changed my around 140,000 miles cause they were shot.
@@dillansgarage here’s something I found online . Pretty much what I’m experiencing. Good video boss, but please don’t advise people to use head gasket sealer. Remember, what seals up the leak in your head gasket will seal up other things as well.
There’s a difference between chemical bonds and physical sealants. I agree with you about physical sealants like stop leak
@@dillansgarage I wasn’t trying to say you were wrong or anything, it’s just that I had an experience with trying to use some sealant and it gunk up my thermostat and radiator and everything. Maybe you can help me I have a 2009 Nissan frontier with a 4.0 V6. To make a really long story short, I’m pretty sure that I have a leaking head gasket. It’s a very very slow leak. I only have to add coolant about every two or three weeks or so and even then it’s only just a little bit of coolant. The problem I have is that if I put a load on the motor like hauling a trailer, it immediately gets hot. So my question is what type of sealer would you recommend because at this point I’m willing to try anything because I’m looking at having to buy another motor because I’m not going to spend $3000 to get the head gasket fixed. The truck has 211,000 miles. Thanks any help is really appreciated.

Installing mine now. That bracket you left off goes in the inside of the frame. So basically that bracket and the bumper sandwich the rear frame. I also picked up a license plate bracket that will attach to one of the locations for the D-ring mount. I don’t have parking sensors so I left the rubber covers on. I have Hooke Road front bumper and tube doors so this goes well with the other accessories.
Whoa. Why the heck didn’t I think of that. Now that you mention it, it seems so obvious. Thank you for sharing. Can you share the license plate holder link?

Hi there, what size are the torx bolts that come with the steps? Are they T55 as well?
Aw man. I’m sorry I don’t remember but I think so. I don’t have the jeep with me anymore to check
@@dillansgarage Cool thanks!
How much weight will these steps support? Also concerned whether the hinges are designed to support more than weight of the doors?
@@Airwaves-Radio I’m not sure what they’re rates for but my buddy is 200lbs and that felt solid. I understand the concern, but just gotta think about leverage. When you stand on these the weight is very close to the hinges bolt point to the body. So it’s vertical pressure only. Whereas a door is tugging on it trying to pull the hing away from the body when the door is open. I would never stand on these with the door open since it’s a totally different load that I don’t think it would handle well. But door closed, I’d stand on these all day.
Interesting way to get likes…
