So...have none of you watched the film? Norma isn't manic (like Glenn). She has completely dissociated. She is lost *in* her mind, she hasn't *lost* her mind. Patti's acting the scene very closely to Gloria Swanson. Not everything has to be crazed and over the top to be impactful. Also, I always found the reprise of "With One Look" to be too much. I saw her in concert in Australia a few years ago. Half way through the concert, singing Dont cry for me, her mic dropped out. She just kept going. We were sitting at the back of the hall. We could hear every word. It was incredible. The power of that voice. Chills. Inspiring. Ill never forget it.
