If you can pull this off, and your family asks "Why did we watch this movie instead of Elf for the 50th time?" you can say "Well don't you remember... there was that part.. with the Chri...

Episode 3: The Tortured Poets Department
Looks like a "what if" type of story.
So... about 3/4 through this episode, Trent says the word "Aware"! This was a good opportunity for one of you guys to follow up with the word "Wolf" and a rim shot. ;) Also, I think that an intermission of Freddy doing his classic howling song with guitar would have been appropriate. Also, I was hoping to hear a reference to "Teen Wolf". Wolfman has nards! Peace and Love
Unfortunately I don't know the origin story of Batman/Jingle Bells. It was around when I lived in Chicago as a Child. In 1966 when Batman was released I was 5. So...I'd say that it was around within that time frame. After listening to Yous Guys describe this tier one Christmas movie, I doubt that I'll ever see it on the Hallmark Channel. Sounds like I need to pass on this movie. The thought of seeing a bunch of naked male old humans/elves is a turn off for me. If you guys find the origin of Batman/Jingle Bells song that would be cool. As you know in my journey, I've searched for the origins of the term "Smart Aleck". What is an Aleck? Joy to the World Y'all
The question should be...are the people of Brazil at peace with this film? Do they say? Hollywood should be ashamed of using our National name in such a way! Happy New Year
I would imagine the majority of the Brazilian population is not aware of this movie!! haha.
Perhaps Jamie Leigh Curtis and Arnold should have been casted instead.
Well.. I mean... if you can use that combination to somehow lure James Cameron as a director!!
A masterpiece. You can tell me no different. If your brain can comprehend the majesty of Gilliam's creative genius you are in the right place. All of his films are visual marvels for practical effects and filmmaking ingenuity. His stories are confusing but poignant. Fun and satirical, but weird and cryptic. Like a modern Grimm Fairy Tale. Everyone should be able to find something to like in his filmography. I challenge any listener to this point. Even if you dislike one of his films you can't deny it's worth discussing just from the absurd spectacle alone. Give it a chance, and if you're disappointed then you must have a stunted imagination. I don't know how else to explain it.
"Only a Sith deals in absolutes!"
Ok, look. I love a good Christmas movie around the season as any other IRS fearing, burned out on Christmas Carols, mind-numbing consuming American, but sometimes you just gotta go outside of your comfort zone. This movie doesn't require much barrier for entry as the other two, but dang I feel like people could still get something out of it, even during the holidays. Maybe I'm biased, but what else is new. The listener can be the judge, and I welcome your criticism. So bring it. All of less than 20 of you that there may be.
Leo showed me that he can act in "What's eating Gilbert Grape. Tom Hanks is just awesome. One of his best movies is "The Green Mile". Amy Adams is just beautiful, and I love her in "The Muppets". Chris Wakken, another awesome actor, my favorite movie of his is Joe Dirt. "Catch me if you can" is fun. Great hearing "Yous Guys".
So, I kinda wish for these movies we had that Peter Griffin moment where he's just waiting for the characters to say the name of the movie. It would be so simple for this one. I feel like it could have been an easy Leo line to say, "You can try to catch me.....if you can." Ahhh, catharticism. I'm pretty sure this does happen in our other films though. I guess you'll have to wait and see. As always, if you're here and listening, you have done this level of madness to yourself.
Gladiator 2 captured you more than Heretic did. Also, I agree with you about the John Williams documentary. John Williams is a genius. Also, I agree with you about keeping Peace on Turkey Day. Happy Thanksgiving to All
Really enjoying the channel guys! Keep it up.
Do you think "Abe" minds how the band has changed the spelling of his last name? Folks, the real Lincoln Park in Chicago used to be cool, but I haven't been there in many years so I don't know what it's like now. As for bands that continue on after losing their front man to death...I say....yes. Queen has done it. Son...I'm proud of you!
Perfect
@@jordandavis6048 this movie is perfect?? 🤔🤣 Or this podcast episode is perfect?? 🤣🤣🤣
Very good verry very good🦹🏿♂️🦹🏿♂️🦹🏿♂️🦹🏿♂️
What? No Phantasm? Zombieland? The Ring? Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein? Salem's Lot? And.... The Darkness?
If you're the type of person who demands more rambling, then this is the episode for you. No catchy soundbite at the beginning of this one. Just out of context randomness. It's become our band now, I believe.
Trump wins! Half of America is now Happy! The other half will be smoking Halloweed! Glad that the Three Amigos reviewed these movies: Squirm Bow Finger Invasion of the Body Snatchers
🤣
Ahhh, 2nd view on the counter belongs to the worst of these three dummies. This is what insomnia is meant for, casually stalking this page and being surprised when it's uploaded. I take most of the responsibility in the off topic de-railing in this episode. As always, shut your ears off after the theme song, it all goes downhill after that.
Java Java Java Java! (Music) This is Halloween Halloween Halloween!
Godzilla v.s hedorah would be very cool
Honestly, as much as I'd like to see it... i kinda hope that's what we get out of the Minus One sequel!!!
I'll pass
You never need to watch it!!!! 🤣🤣
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Final comment. Art is complicated as you well know. Art can also leave a person perplexed. As with most pieces of art, people will either like it or not. Time will tell. Perhaps it will be a cult classic. Love you Son
Enticing! But....with a warning! Okay...fair enough. It sounds like you went to see the epitome of an abstract piece of artwork. Coppala has probably watched just about every type of movie ever created and tried to Frankenstein this film together. Okay. Sometimes the old saying, "beauty is the eyes of the beholder" rings true. For example. Last night I watched "Studio 666" and it looked like Dave had fun creating it. He's an artist, and I get it. After viewing it on TV, I was glad that I hadn't gone to the theater and paid money to view it. So after listening to your review I'll simply wait and watch this movie on TV. Through your review as you described this movie....the quote from Billy Madison rang in my head, and perhaps it defines how some people are reacting to this movie.
@@timdavis8904 this movie actually has the same exact Hamlet excerpt that Billy Madison has 🤣🤣🤣.. I know that's not what you're talking about.. but as soon as it started, all I could think of was Eric being interrupted by a Green Tights wearing Billy 🤣🤣🤣...
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
Paul McCartney BOM BOM BOM BOMP
Is this meant to be a McCartney scat?? 🤣🤣
Would it be safe to say that the Creators of Transformers has the goal of the viewers to simply look in the mirror at one's self? Or perhaps look into the history of humanity? In this episode Y'all tried to breakdown the motives of the characters. Motives are important to us. We humans tend to want answers to the motives of others. Fine job of breaking down the contents of this movie. And Jason...it was great hearing your birthday song for Trent... it's perfect. Peace and love
There are better ways to waste 43 minutes. Don't say I didn't warn you. I'm just here for the intro anyways.
Unhinged rambling. Although accurate. No one but me should be forced to listen to such nonsense. "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."
The Transformer Franchise is simply a religious knock off. Perhaps it's more of a philosophy wanna be franchise. It's a battle of good vs evil. Their world tries to be a Yen and Yang lesson and shows us that Life has a lot of gray in it. Morality is important to the creators of this franchise. Free will, anger, bitterness, honesty, and above all sense of worthiness, is important to the writers. Basically typical human emotions are used in the stories. Even our longing to know the origins of creation as humans is important to the creators of this franchise, so much so that they created this new movie. This movie goes hand in hand with the original TV series, it tries very hard to teach the viewers morals and ethics. Bravery is also very important to the creators of this franchise. In closing, I love listening to "yous guys" hash it out, as you have done for years. Peace and Love
They call them number two's for a reason. Typically they stink. Jaws, American Graffiti, Joe Dirt, and the list goes on and on. Thanks for the heads up about the movie. Luv u both
Son, that's a fair grade. But here's the deal...due to the content of the movie...this movie could possibly be spoiled by folks expressing their feelings etc. That includes me. So, I'll simply agree with you and say...yes it's worth watching. Peace and Love
Thanks for the heads up about Crow. Maybe the producers will have to eat crow after this review. ;) Folks could always find Heckle and Jeckle cartoons on RUclips, or the Looney Tunes Crow's or even the Disney Crow's if they want to put a smile on their faces. Peace and Love
First of all I want to thank the Good Lord for Family and Friends. Also, The United States of America where We can think & speak freely. What a joy it has been for me to listen to my loved Ones as They simply express Their Heart's about this new Aliens movie and many other topics. Hopefully in the future Y'all will get together and do this again. As I have mentioned...within this episode Y'all covered a lot of topics and I could expound on many of those topics, but... I'll just make it simple and say... I love you Guys. Now... to quote a line from one of our favorites......"I'll be back"..... (Jesus). Wait what? Oh you guys thought that I was quoting Arnold. ;)
When you started talking about the Guy in Cincinnati calling you Dave....my mind went straight to Cheech and Chong! Hello Dave? Dave ain't here man! ;) By the end of this episode I thought of my recent conversation with you... when I said Stubs is therapy for you. You're a good man. Out there preaching the word about.... Music! Oh my...you keep on preaching...preacher man!
As The Wolverine clutches the framed photo of Jason, a song plays in his mind... Ringo singing.... Every time I see your face it reminds me of the places we used to go. All I have is a photograph and I realize you're not coming back anymore. ;) This movie is made for the True Blue Comic Con/Fan Boy/Superhero Geeks. They all love Trivia! They love Easter eggs! This movie is just Fun! It makes fun of itself! It makes fun of the Multiverse! Walt Disney is probably turning over in his grave! Or wait... cryogenic container. Listening to your play by play of the movie leads me to only one conclusion....I need to watch it again.
I imagine the song is either "Can't live without you" or "All by myself" 😂😂
"Hi...I am Hans" "And I am Franz" "And we're here to pump u up.... about Stubs!" Hans: "Ya...so...Twister was once one of my favorite games... until....I stopped being a girly man and my massive muscles wouldn't allow me to bend and twist." Franz: "Ya...for sure...I too loved the game... and I also loved the late Bill Paxton in the great 90's epic movie Twister." Han: "Ya....the movie that became the first movie released on DVD." Franz: "Too bad for Blockbuster who decided to stick with girly man VHS tapes and allowed Netflix to crush them out of business with DVDS like Twister." Hans: "Hopefully Twister's the new movie placed the best dance music ever into the film... like... Let's Twist again like we did last summer... and...and..The Twist...by Chubby Checker." Franz: Ya...ya..ya... and the girly men's favorite....Peppermint Twist." Hans: "Oh...ya...and let's not forget the best movie ever...Ferris Buellers Day Off...where we twist to... Twist and Shout. Hans: "Jason... I just want to say thank you for being a real man and telling us about Twister's!" Franz: "Ya...nobody wants to hear from Girly Men who are weak and puny about movies!" "Hear me now and believe me later." "Stubs has saved me money by guiding me away from...meh... movies." Together: "We are here to Pump you up Stubs Fans!"
Twisters are not a problem for Hans and Franz 😂😂😂... "I do 10 sets of 800 pound curls every morning, noon, and night to make sure that no puny vortex will be taking me for a ride." 😂😂
Son, you needed that trip and that venue and concert. Thank God you survived and came back healthier and with a positive report. Keep up the good work. Dad
It would be a bad idea to have Godzilla Jr. Do you actually want to see Godzilla doing parent stuff???? Hell no!!
😂😂😂 parenting stuff is just keeping a kid from killing itself... I think I could handle watching Godzilla do this for a bit... Not an ENTIRE movies worth of this... But a few bits...
I would like to see the Great Apes fight against the Gargantuas. Imagine a war between both monster species in the hollow earth!
Too early for Destroyah
These guys reminded me of some Ninjas in robes. Not quite Sub Zero, or Shredder, maybe more like the Foot guys.
I think I would've like these guys a little more if they had a little more Shredder in them!!! LOLOL!!!
Im sorry but i think Firewood Media idea BLEW ME AWAY for what i want to happen next...
Never heard of that channel, I'll have to check it out!!!
I guarantee that the monsterverse will end with a 2 part finale titled Destroy all Monsters. The Jaegers from pacific rim make there debut. They devise a plan to trap all The titans on earth will either be killed by humanity or casted out to the hollow earth with the exception of Godzilla (because he’s too powerful) The Xiliens will be introduced and they’ll release a “Kaiser Ghidorah” with an army of juvenile Ghidorahs underlings. Godzilla is getting his ass kicked and Kong, Suko, Mothra and Shimo are trying to find a way out of hollow earth. As Godzilla lies dying and Ghidorah is about to delivers the final blow, one last portal opens up in stone henge. Kong and his army of apes as well as all the other Titans trapped emerge. Godzilla Kong and the Jaegers of pacific rim have a showdown against Kaiser Ghidorah
Sounds wild... But I'd be super down for it!!!
I would love the next movie to be gigan or biollantae. I think Destroyah should come later on and be a 2 movie story like infinity war and endgame.
If they plan on continuing this series extensively... Then absolutely!! But I feel like they're gonna try to wrap things up... They know there's a burst coming to the box office success!
Any excuses for us to say DESSSSSATROYAAAAAAA
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣deso-to-royaaaaaaahhh!!!
I think they should introduce Destoroyah as the big baddy of the verse, but not as the main threat. Feel like he should be an endgame level threat with every movie building up to him (kinda like Thanos).
I don't mind the idea of building up to him... I just don't think the box office will sustain to do that...and even so.. how do you have him make different appearances that feel natural to the stories they'd be trying to tell? I think king Ghidorah would've been the perfect monster to build to.. have Godzilla lose to him... Then bring in all the monsters so they have to take him down in a final entry... But they blew that load 🤣🤣.. Godzilla loses in Toho movies... Actually I think the best Toho movies are when he loses!!
@@StubsWithJason yeah, not thinking like 20+ movies of build up like the MCU, but maybe around 3 movies? Feel like they're alternating/mixing up toho monsters with original monsters which is a nice touch. Storywise, nothing feels natural in the monsterverse (what's with the sudden tech jump from G14 to KotM to KvG? the ogygen destroyer literally came out of nowhere as a plot device, skull island is sunked, etc). No one cares about things feeling natural, just execute for the monsters. Can probably drop hints here and there in the movies and postcredit scenes (like Kong/Ghidora/Mecha), bringing up how the side-effects of the oxygen destroyer is bringing random mutations to animal species and titans (or radiation that even threatens titans) throughout the world that also seeped into hollow earth, lending to a planetary threat... This'll help showcase how devestating the oxygen destroyer was. The radiation would mutate any complex, organic matter (humans, animals, and titans) into a crustacean-alien version of themselves, making them extremely hostile. And in the end, all the mutated species from both the surface and hollow earth come together to become Destroyah. I literally just came up with this as I'm typing away right now lmfao, I'm sure there are a lot of holes, but who gives af. Would still love to have Destroyah as the endgame villain, but I agree, Ghidora could've been built up too. [Edit] And I have hope that they'll continue to monsterverse for awhile with season 2 of Monarch and a guaranteed godzilla x kong. But who knows lol
Yeah, when the oxygen destroyer bit happened in KOTM, I was beside myself in disappointment.. like, I couldn't even enjoy the rest of the movie.... And I was like "Yeah these guys just don't understand what Godzilla can be... What this series can be".... Thankfully minus one delivered the goods. I had very low expectations going into gxk... Admittedly i found myself just turning off my brain and enjoying the ride haha.. my expectations out of the Monsterverse have certainly shifted... Things could be worse... 🤷♂️ I could get down with your pitch 🤣🤣.. but I don't think there's any interest in "morality" or lessons... I'm sure they've looked at everything and said KOTM has themes and it didn't make money.... We stripped that all out... Just let em fight... Rolling in the money at this point.... Wrap it up with the next entry... Start doing standalones...
And yes to more Monarch Legacy of Monsters... Want KOTM cameos!!! As I mentioned in the vid.. love the cast... Hate their utilization.
I **** with it
Nope. Next movie needs to be a prequel from the Iwi’s ancestors’ perspective of the Titan War that led to Skar King’s dominance of Shimo (manipulating the Iwi’s crystal resonance technology), the genocide of the Gojira species, and Ghidorah’s invasion of the planet and his subsequent defeat and freezing. Fleshes out the story while maintaining the status quo so a proper sequel can come later.
Honestly I think Wingard would've been the guy for this movie...and I would be all for it... I don't think they're brave enough to make this movie... Although they 100% should... Imagine this in the hands of someone like Matt Reeves!!!
Guy's that movie is listed as an "Action Thriller". If Blockbuster still existed, they would have it listed as Action. They might even have it as an "Post Apocalypse Thriller". Good to hear yous guys break it down. Luv ya both
