God I love this video so much. nI hate that they retired the Tomcat literally the year I joined the Army. I wanted to call for CAS from them and watch them work... Instead I only got to deal with A-10 and rotary wing.

Seeing lots of retired naval pilots interview’s , that piloted both f14 & f18 , super hornet , when ask which to take into battle they 90 percent of the time say the f14b , f14d .

As a former Grumman Aerospace Technical Representative, Weapon Systems Integration, I’d suggest the F14 had the longest legs, best RADAR, best missile (AIM 54C) best payload and most badass aircrews and maintenance teams. My time w Grumman is remembered with pride. God Bless America and fuck the politicians!!

if i would be priviliged enough to stand on the side somewhere (safely) on a Carrier watching opps,i'd be gazing my eyeballs out all dayyyy....what an incredible coordinated effort from the entire crew to make all this happen.so many things have to work in unison alone,it's just amazing. like setting the steamcatapult for every lauch.every plane's specific weight,fuel load,ordinances,extc....everything gets calculated on the fly....during the take off sequence,if the plane idles too long on the deck,the fuel burned is being deducted just before take off.

quick DCS question: in real-life F14 AAR, wing sweep bomb mode or 20 degree? btw i never know one can actually sleep onboard as pilot for F14 or any 2 seaters I mean even with Gs and autopilots that is kidda scary.
