What's awesome is that you can tell they really wanted to get the Dragon Slayer physics down perfectly. This does feel like how someone would wield such a huge sword. You can also tell they wanted to really emphasize Gut's unique reckless fighting style during the clashes.
Nice job winning against that throw- and backhandblade-spam with a good old classy greatsword!

You can use PS2 Emulator to play this game. The link to download is probably somewhere on Reddit. This was how I installed and played this game and also the old edition of Shadow of the Colossus

The counters are amazingly well-choreographed for a ps2 game.
the choreography correctly follows the manga, this is the way Miura intended the characters to move. If you read it you'll notice.
All of it are mo-capped, eventually following the rules of physics. I also like how the Dragonslayer sounds when it swings, like swatting a huge stick creating a whooshing sound instead of a cast-iron skillet clang 😂

Aside from the fact that it's way better than the anime, even the ps4 game doesn't come close

I agree. The scene worked good enough as a flashback in context yet Rickert was important as well.
The ps2 game is honestly pretty boring. Besides this one fight it really isn't worth it.

Not really, it gets repetitive after a while but the boss battles are great. In general a good game.
@@GatsuKS Except for the Grunbeld fight where he turns into his apostle form That took forever for me to actually beat. A lot of the time I wasn't doing any damage to him for some reason But other than that, yeah, it's pretty fun for the most part despite some of its issues, and I do enjoy the game a lot.

IDK why, but my favorite part of that shot has to be Guts standing his ground in the face of Zodd's apostle form while he's wielding Dragonslayer like it's a club.
