Joey Browner Throws Mike Renfro Out of the End Zone
Thursday nighter. I wast here with my dad - who I miss tremendously as I write this on Father’s Day.
Thanks Joe !!!
You're welcome!
He was such a smooth runner.
A true long strider. I met him out once and he bounces when he walks. Like he's got springs in his feet.
All time favorite Viking.
That's an interception in the NFL
Yep. But a TD when you're 19 years old in college.
And there are people who think that he lacks arm strength. 😂
Haters gonna hate
📯 Skolman
I thought that sounded like Sonny Jurgensen as color commentator. The Old Red Head. He's still with us.
What year was this
1978
Gotta love the disco music leading to the commercial breaks
Which year is this game?...1988 playoffd maybe?. Thanks
1987. Vikings 36 - 49ers 24
How packers safety Leroy butler is in the HOF before Browner? The HOF is a joke. Just because he created the lambeau leap he gets the nod
He was a media darling. That's all the HOF is; a popularity contest. It has little to do with actual football.
Browner should be in the hall of fame. I think the only difference between Lott and Browner is the Super Bowls.
By 1987, Walter pretty much spent. He retired.
One of my favorite players of all time. I'm putting together a sweetness video. He was great.
When I saw the title of this video, I figured it had to be during the days of Doleman and Millard. Doleman is in the Hall of Fame, and Millard was even better! Those two were incredible!
Millard's injury was heart breaking. He was going to be an all time great.
@@joelucky39 Yep. One of the best ever.
When did the NFL start miking the referee? I'm having memory problems, I thought that it was long after Tarkenton retired, obviously not.
I miss the Vikings being good...
The Vikes will struggle this year, but, it's coming back around again.
When football was FOOTBALL man!
I still have my Millard Jersey I got in 1987
I still have my Doleman jersey!
He reminds me of Gale Sayers.
Man, I remember this game vividly. The thing I remember the most (because I never seen it before or since) is Cunningham punting on 2nd down!! They were backed up around their own 15 or so. They had 2nd and 20+ yards. Eagles did the ol' quick kick and Cunningham launched about a 59-60 yard punt. Again, it was on 2nd down!!
Yep. This is the game.
That D line was incredible. Keith Millard before his injury was amazing.
He was. The Vikings defense suffered without him.
@@joelucky39 Quite possibly Millard was HOF bound!
@@stevenzimmerman4057 No doubt. He, Dolman and Browner were all HOF level players on that defense.
@@joelucky39 I'm kinda surprised Browner isn't in!
@@stevenzimmerman4057 HOF is a popularity contest. Very little of it has to do with Football. Browner and Ronnie Lott are the best to ever play the position. Lott was media popular, Browner was not.
Among the Vikings defensive coaches were Monte Kiffin and Pete Carroll.
Instead of Anthony Carter Burns the Bears for 56 yards it should be Anthony Carter "Grant"s the Vikings 56 yards 😂
My gosh do we need that interior pass rush in 2024 !! Millard was incredible
Isn't odd to see Cris Carter playing for the other team? Kieth Mallard was an f'n beast. It's unfortunate that he tore is ACL in 1990 and was never the same.
Yes! That's why I put it in there. One of our all time greats.
@@joelucky39 A incredible Vikings game!
Millard was a beast.
This Vikings defense was awesome. The Hershel Walker trade ruined the chemistry when they traded Jesse Soloman and Issac Holt to the Cowboys
That trade set the Vikings back 10 years.
@@joelucky39 Yep
I still haven't forgiven Mike Lynn
The Vikes D 88-89 was awesome!
@stevenzimmerman4057 If only Terry Allen wasn't in College when the Vikings traded for Hershel. Because he was a much better fit for that Offense.
I’ve known Browner was really good for a while but this channel has really made me appreciate his greatness. Barry was ridiculous and made Browner miss on a few of these players but it’s crazy how quickly Browner closed on some of the tackles and the vice-grip strength in his hands to hang on for tackles he had no leverage on.
The Browner brothers were great players in college and the pros.
where are the fat people
One of two games that Vikings beat the 49ers during the Bill Walsh era. Nice to see and know. Joe usually killed the Vikes for as long as I remember, including with Browner.
That was not the '85' Bears. Probably the 87' season.
That Herm Edwards guy, I wonder what ever became of him.
One of the first football games I watched as a young kid, was the Superbowl with the Chiefs!! Number 4!! Chiefs Win!!!
There was another game in 85 at Philadelphia when the Vikings down 27-0 in the 4th quarter came BACK to win it! My brother was a Vikings fan was so elastic!!
I can't tell you how many times us Packer fans swore over Tark's agility and play. Ah, the days when guys played for the love of the game. Did u see the Viking receiver pat the Philly DB who misses an interception? THANKS FOR POSTING!!
"Bud Grant's almost ready ro smile over this one"...Spot on about Coach Grant!
Makes you wonder who the heck was the recruiters at Oklahoma State when they had Sanders and Thurman Thomas.
My buddy had season tickets to the “Big House”. I saw Anthony Carter play a bunch of times. He played a lot bigger than his size.
Past his prime by a few years. In an era when this should not have happened. And Fran Tarkenton delivered one of the greatest moments in Minnesota Viking history.
Poor Herm Edwards could have ended the game,,,twice!
Love the Vikes, but damm, they let me down when I was a kid and they keep on doing the same, those SB’s as a kid were the worse 😫
Montana said, "Hmmm, I think I like this receiver...he might just do alright here"
1970's NFL was the best.
Lions front office should be ashamed. They squandered the career of two of the most gifted players within the last 60 years. Both Barry Sanders and Megatron retired EARLY rather than continue to play for the Lions.
I loved watching Tarkenton ! One of a kind for sure!
One of my favorite all-time CBs. If you could build a boundary CB in a lab, he would look like Haynes.
1977??
