In 1975 One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest beat out Jaws and Dog Day Afternoon for best picture. The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 16-6 in super bowl IX. Elton John's Captain Fantastic entered the Billboard Top Album chart at #1 something no other album by any artist had done before. Also, this pool day at 4 Irion Drive...........
Our Infant baby Allegra Madison shocked at Jack and Jill Nursery Rhyme 1980s Andrew Dice Clay Style

A harsh intro to humor for our infant Allegra Madison. She is shocked at the outcome because after reading it correctly many times before i guess this is not the ending she was expecting.
Best theme tune ever!
I'll take Gene Krupa all day....
Side note: Buddy gave Johnny that white Ludwig Pearloid drum kit he’s using in this video and Johnny kept it in his office, and played it just about every day until he retired.
and the person in this clip with the SECOND biggest smile on his face (after mr. rich) is ed shaughnessy sitting up there in the background. the mutual respect between these two was well-known and often-documented. great to see and hear. thank you.
The pinnacle of late-night television.
Tim Walz was 16 days old when this aired, on April 22, 1964.
Perfect snare sound...no snare will ever top the Ludwig Supraphonic !!!
inanılmaz derecede muhteşem. dünyanın en güzel, en yaşanılacak yılları 1950'ler, 60'lar, 70'li yıllarmış. Türkiye'den selamlar
My Big Band, Pro Drummer father was my hero & we "loved watching Buddy Rich" on Johnny Carson (growing up), in the 70's
"The machine" ..
I just heard that after he did that show, he had to go to the hospital bc he suffered a heart attack. That's how insane that drum solo was.
Cocaine is awesome! Just kidding.
GOAT
I have only one thing I posses that I can give Buddy Rich, total and utter respect. RIP Buddy.
There was Gene Krupa before him but buddy knocked it the hell out of the Court as a drummer myself I can only dream of this
20:00 -- Montana to Rice. The NFL would hear a lot of that combination in coming years. Thanks for the video memory!
Talent that is from better times.
nOT BAD. i PREFER rINGO.
Hammer!
I was enamoured with Buddy's playing all through the 1960's and 70's. I learned his famous left-handed roll watching him explain it to Mike Douglas. Take practice getting that bounce under control. Here I see Johnny trying to do it with a pencil! Buddy was the greatest, and I had the opportunity to thank the late, great Neal Peart for his work in puling together the tribute Big Band after Buddy's death. If you're a Buddy Rich fan and haven't heard those recordings, by all means look them up, listen, and read the names of all the drummers who contributed to that project. Hey one more thing -- I stunned to see Tricky Dick Nixon taking a tenor solo. Man, that cat was wailing!
Love the zildjian cymbals!
Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders sounds so much better than saying Las Vegas Raiders
The announcer bowl Christensen Millen Allen Long Jackson
Dick Stockton with the young voice. I knew it wasn’t but it sounds like Costas.
We are so lucky to have RUclips and be able to experience the GOATS back in their day.
Marc Wilson🤦🏾♂️
Clams!......Clams!!!
Marc Wilson....SUCKED
There he goes again - making it look easy.
I think budy is playing on a Ludwig set and zildjian cymbals
It looks like busy is playing a set of loud wig drums with two floor toms
Next to his own band, Buddy loved Count Basie tremendously, especially when Basie would play any chart by Sammy Nestico, like "Wind Machine" and "Yq Gotta Try. "
As usual, Rich is a force to be reckoned with but hey! Let's hear it for the band!
How many Hall of Fame inductees in this game? Super Bowl MVPs? Rice was big game ready from the start of career!
I remember this!!! lol
I got my first kit in 1961. Buddy was a musical God to me. No matter how much I practiced after 40 years of playing in several bands I could never touch this guy. Not a really nice guy but who’s perfect. Finest drummer of all time! RIP.. That left hand thing. 👌
Allen is a class act ,not 2 many players help the opposing team up !!🎉
And the horn section really gave a long high note to top off the song!
Back when football was football
AM AZ ING
39:48…my God, what a shit throw.
Insane. That stick work is just insane. Unworldly.
👍🙂‼️ Awesome!!! Plus, that's ERNIE WATTS playing the tenor-sax solo!!!!!! 👍🙂‼️
The raiders should have won the super bowl again in '84 I mean it would have been a tough game to win with the 49ers in there because that was Joe Montana's best 49er team in '84 they were 15 and 1 but the raiders had a knack of knocking teams like that off like they did the year before when that Redskin team was being called the greatest team of all time they went in there and demolished them
That's running wide open on all 18 cylinders and a Nitrous fueled punch! Makes me want to throw away my sticks and take up the kazoo, lol.
Zildjian cymbals the only serious choice!😅
Still needs more cowbell
Back then it was one of the best heated riverals in the NFL Darth Vader vs the orange crush
At 1:45:10, there was an advert for Chrysler. Somehow they claimed that some POS Chrysler could outperform a BMW 528e. Yeah right. BTW, where is the Labaron GTS anyway ?? If anyone ACTUALLY believed this crap, comment.
The Sunday Denver Post sports section the day of the game had a headline in huge, bold print that read DARTH RAIDER along with a comic artist drawing of a huge football player type with a Darth Vader mask. The Broncos were going to the defending SB champs place without Elway and there was trepidation to say the least. Kubiak had been drafted late in the same year as Elway, completely untested going in. We pretty much thought the Broncos had no chance but ended up a great game. Great year, great time in the AFC West. This game has been the Darth Raider game for me ever since :)
