    Poa trivialis does not usually go to seed like that. It spreads via stolons- above ground runners. You will be pulling out runners along with the grass, that's how you know

    Rent the dethatcher from a tool rental store. Dethatching is always great before fall overseeding and early spring or just to help the lawn breathe. Allows for the following: Seed penetration Air circulation Water penetration Sunlight penetration Additional grass growth to fill in thin or baring spots and this will prevent weeds from taking over along with moss prevention. I first was licensed back in the 80s for professional landscaping Nursery.

      My neighbor watered it every few days in the morning and early evening. That may change if you are trying to seed in the summer in an area with no shade

    You're not supposed to fill it to the rim . Get your scale, weigh it empty, then weigh it full to the rim. And compare.

    I used old blankets. It drained better and the parts where I used landscaping plastic is not as healthy and the plastic does get exposed quicker as it does not drain. A neighbors property was worse as the plastic didn’t take and she hadda landscaping service do this so wrong.
