CCing Falco lasers for dummies
tldr
crouch before/as laser hits u, it doesn't matter where ur stick is after it hits u
so you can let your analog stick return to neutral and before something like a cc laser dash back the same as you would a normal take laser dash back, but simply strictly better as you are actionable (aka hitstun is shorter) sooner than normally
note: you don't need to input crouch BEFORE you get hit, you can cc if you input crouch even up until the same frame as you would have gotten hit (if you're able to crouch, as in you're walking or something)

was thinking about this before but plugging up the small issues nair oos will cause high lasers to hit meaty sometimes, which means u just get hit, but retreating uair is good vs laser aerial, while still letting you do stuff like this vs laser laser aerial not fully mapped out yet, but getting closer. and yea im playing melee again

i'm trying to learn this, do you use tap jump + cstick for the uairs? by the sound of the controller this is my assumption. I've been looking for a consistent way to do uair oos and have found that some people find it best using x+z but in my experience it feels slower

If I'm understanding properly, it looks like CC laser saves you 2 frames of hit-stun. That makes a lot more sense. Thanks Chef!

Good video-- I didn't know that ASDI also worked on the control stick! I always thought of it as working only on the C-stick, but it makes sense when you see it more as an override.
Don't think this is correct.
@@simanolastname2399 asdi works on either, but c stick overrides grey stick for determining asdi direction if both are held

Ok so if Hbox had DI'd out in that clip, wizzy would have kneed off the first uair and killed him?

I think hbox did DI out, the reason wizzy couldn't knee is because he short hopped below the platform with the first uair instead of full hopping onto the platform so he didn't have the height to knee

love it, it's like setting up a reverse marth killer from any teeter cancel so if fox/falco try to upair you so that you get pushed off on the first hit - is the mixup just to stomp again instead of going for the lightshield?
You could probably do a bunch of different things like fh from the teeter or run off bair or dash back on the plat. If you're teeter canceling a stomp you have lots of wiggle room because stomp's huge hitbox gives you space. It's very hard to punish the stomp teeter after the fact. You gotta stuff it or intercept it really.

Maybe I’m just a salty Falcon player, but I’ve always felt like Falco has a pretty easy time killing? Like dair is basically knee isn’t it?
Falcon is by far his most favorable mu of the strong chars. It's not a good representation of his usual. In most of his mus he has a lot clearer strengths and weaknesses. Falcon just gets bullied in that one specifically
these videos are so great chef is truly a blessing to the scene
it's so lucky Falco has a short up B and bad grabs Imagine how dominant he would be as a character if he didn't have glaring weaknesses

Two years into seriously trying to learn the game and I realized his gameplan just aint for me, and that I actually am a falco main at heart. 1.5 solid months in and am improving rapidly, feel like I can actually learn the game for the first time ever.
