Quite good video! What I learned is that my 17R4 need to be repasted and then replaced with some proper PC as this maintenance that you are supposed to do every 2 years looks like true pain in the @ss.

Having the same issue, I just tried this. It worked but soon after putting it back together, I am back to square 1. Any other suggestions would appreciate it

Thank you for this video. This saved me from having to pay double to get someone to fix this. FYI for anyone doing this and they find that the mylar (sticky tabs that you have to pull out to release the screen) end up breaking off. I used a hair dryer to heat the edges of the screen and carefully pry off the screen. It is a bit risky but just don't use too much force that the screen cracks.

I have the AN515-55-55M1, does that take this screen specifically? I don't know what number of pin connector I have and would like to avoid taking it apart before I go to fix it if possible. I know it's full HD 144Hz and I want to make sure I get the right one

Thank you! I can confirm this works on a Lenovo Yoga 7i. I updated the BIOS and 12 hours later I closed the lid and it went dead. I tried the reset button and everything else I read and nothing worked. I removed the back, followed your procedure and it worked perfectly! Thanks again!😉

Thank you for the video, but all this work to change a couple of things... jesus, I had Toshibas, ASUS and HPs that were a matter of just opening a cover and replacing the ssd and/or the RAM. This is completely overkill, need to dissassemble almost the entire thing to do something I could do on other brands in 2 mins. I am not going to buy MSI again... that's for sure.

Absolute magic! I have a 2017 XPS 13 and it wouldn't power on nor would any lights come on when plugged in. I did the steps to disconnect the battery and clear the bios and it worked as shown in the video. My charger cable was fine. Thanks a ton!

Very nice video. Well done! Just wondering if the double sided tape that holds the the screen to the case can be reused. I noticed it had tabs on it that could be used to pull it out from behind the case. Ordinary double-sided tape would not have those tabs. Thanks again!

List of things you'll need based on the video (mainly for my own sake): - T5 screwdriver - Pry tool (to open the casing of the laptop) - Pressurized air spray OR fine brush (to clean fans) - Precision tweezers - Phillips screwdriver - Plastic scraping tool (for thermal past removal) - Toothbrush - Denatured alcohol (to clean card and CPU) - 0.5mm thermal pads - Artic MX-4 thermal compound paste - Electrical tape OR conductive silver tape (can be bought from Home Depot)
