Call me crazy but I'd bring a metal detector along with you. Maybe also pan for gold in ideal places. You probably find any panning alone. But most metal detectors are waterproof. So you could wade around in some western creeks & rivers. The great lakes region had lot's of gold & silver at one time. There was an underwater silver mine in one of the great lakes that produced millions $$ in silver. They used water pumps, to constantly pump water out similar to bridge building.

Love Credence Clearwater revival! It reminds me of my brother-in-law, who raised me as his own. He taught himself how to play the guitar by ear, and always played their songs. He was also a classic cabnet maker. RIP Dennis ❤

I know this ride well, lots of hill outside of newport, but once you get past the airport its pretty flat to yacahts, but LOTS of traffic. Then a big terrifying climb over Cape Perpetua!

I had an idea for 4 small lightweight wheels that can attach to the kayak. You bring along, so you can easily transport the kayak over land. When come to impassable dams & waterfalls. I like the idea of some attachable kayak wheels with electric motors. So you could sit in the kayak & drive it across land. lol

I seen a decent looking sit-in kayak 🛶 at Walmart for like $280....So I figured a person could find a decent used one for $140.....They also make small 2 stroke kayak engines for around $150---$200...Along with out rigger pontoons & other stuff....With an inflatable outrigger & strong netting. You can carry a lot of gear attached to the outrigger netting. With a sail & motor you could kayak upstream in the slower moving side waters.

Where are you headed? I'm back on the road. Will spend about two weeks in Rapid City, SD, then down into central Nebraska. From there headed to Topeka, and east to far northeastern Tennessee before heading back west. It would be great seeing you again if you're going to be close to those areas!!
