so you can change the iii flat 7th to a dominant 7th chord that resolves home to the 1 CHORD OR MAJOR 7TH CHORD. all my wording makes it seem more difficult than it really is, i am sorry about that. a good lesson, thanks.

I love Walter's intelligent approach, which (note well), doesn't mention "drop" chords, but instead decides exactly what inversion and voicing he wants. The use of "drop" chords becomes slavery to a fixed notion that is essentially not very musical. Instead, Walter exerts absolute control over what he wants by deciding the chord progressions based on musicality and the desired harmonic effect.
